Avatars can be in a human body or without it. They can materialise in any body form and be anywhere anytime and in many places simultaneously. They materialise in same body form or different. Linda, as far as i know, was a disciple who had met her guru and was way ahead on the enlightenment/liberation ladder (if it can be put that way. actually its so difficult to put it in words) and a conduit for wisdom as Randall has said. You can read Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhans Yogananda to get some clear ideas on these issues. The book is very interesting. IP: Logged
