I accidently found these articles on the web and wanted to share them with you.For the last 10 years I have noticed that sometimes when I pass underneath street lights they will turn off, and once I am past them, they turn back on. I was frightened at first and told my mother about it. But what was I supposed to do? Call the cops and tell them? Sure ... they would have thought I was some kind of paranoid tweaker and come knocking at my door to take me away in a straight jacket. So I just accepted it as one of those things I couldn't understand. I came across these articles on SLIders while I was searching for something on Google. SLIders are people who interfere with street lights. SLI stands for Street Lamp Interference. It is a psychic phenomenon that is now being researched. It also explains why I have never been able to wear watches. I gave up wearing them years ago because every time I got a new one it would break for no reason at all. http://paranormal.about.com/library/weekly/aa012400a.htm http://www.geocities.com/eel_411/sli101/sliadvice.html http://www.dirtnap.com/sliding.htm http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/europe/9804/21/electric.girl/ I was so excited to find out I'm not the only one out there who experiences this. Are any of you SLIders? Heidi IP: Logged |

This was happening to me lately! I was reading Gooberz and all of sudden the power in my house went completely out and seconds later it turned back on. I saw a couple falling objects for no reason. A couple flashing lights but I got so scared that it stopped. At first I was like, "Oh no It's a mean Astral entity." But then I realized the mean Astral entity was me! Thank you Hrj777!-StarLover IP: Logged |

Wow Heidi, thats interesting. I don`t have street lights but the strange light oddities are familiar. I`ve been seeing what I call 'jack rabbits' constantly. I see things moving then look directly at it and it`s gone. It`s fleeting yet real. I need to take the time and find out who/what is vieing for my attention before I get whiplash. I plan on looking at the links tonight! Thanks juniperb IP: Logged |

Finally got to read the links . Wow! These two are a source of irritation to me Lightbulbs constantly blow when the SLIder tries to turn them off or on. Volume levels change on TVs, radios, and CD players. I`ve had an expensive electrition out to check on it for me. I was worried it was a surge or short in my electricial wiring. He left acting as tho it was I who had the brain cell short I checked and theres 8 street lights in the village; solar powered and all with randon on and off capibilities to save energy and they wink and blink at random. I k-now that isn`t the SLIder issue, but wanted to throw that in. Did you read the dirtnap "unexplained forum"? Looks interesting. Thanks Heidi! juniperb IP: Logged |

THe street light thing happens to me too, I thought it happened to everyone. WHen the bulb is ready to burn out, somehow the energy of a person passing by makes it go out until they pass...Are you sure this doesn't happen to everyone? Have you ever experimented? I like to be a little skeptical of things before I am a gung-ho believer... IP: Logged |

That's funny cause I always notice a street light bulb going off right as I'm about to pass it in my car. Maybe I give off too much negative energy IP: Logged |

Wow, Heidi -- excellent find!I remember back in March when i joined Lindaland, Stella Polaris brought up a similar topic, where people related their experiences, but no one could explain why. And now you provide some answers! Thanks! Here's the old thread, called I'm electrical - why? http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000346.html cheers, Lunargirl IP: Logged |

Wow, I just saw this thread! I'm a SLIder! I talked about this a few times in this forum, but this is exactly what happens! Often when I'm very emotional, street lamps turn off (or on) when I pass. It almost always happens when I'm very upset (they usually turn off) or very happy (the ones that don't work usually turn on). It's been happening less lately, but I don't walk around much at night anymore (I drive now, but often even while driving I notice lights turning off or on when I pass). Also electrical devices in my home(s) often stop working for no reason when I'm angry (especially comupters - they are obviously more sensitive and react right away!) and they all "die" prematurely, in about 3 or 4 years. I think it's connected to my emotions, my emotional state somehow affects the electricity. That's why when I'm calm nothing like that happens. Glad to know that there are other SLIders out there! Hey guys, I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been noticing like since last year about the street lights. It is getting worse now. Like a couple days ago I was driving home from work and I was mulling things over in my head that happened at work and the street light went out and then I noticed and the next street light (which was out)came on! This happens to me all the time. I thought I was the only one. Very interesting links hrj77. I don't have problems with other electrical equipment though. It's so weird though. Every day I pass under the same street light and it never fails to go out right when I'm like 20 feet away from it. It can't be coincidence.IP: Logged |

I think it is a very natural phenomenon that people vibarating at a very high or low frequency should have an effect on the world around them. I have experieced these things personally. Especially, the electrical objects such as street lights. At the Last Dollar Inn in Criple Creek, Linda's old house, I have heard that everyone sees little bulbs of light at night. IP: Logged |

I know exactly what you mean. The street light thing has been happening to me since I was a kid. As I've gotten older, when I get stressed, fuses will blow in my apt., lights would turn off, lights would turn on. It usually clears up in about 3 days. Mom used to call me Carrie. IP: Logged |

Wow! Yes, I can relate to the SLIder phenomenon ... personally and from people I've known over the years. I knew one guy that would just wreck any electronics in a room when he was upset! Not on purpose of course, but, for example, the ceiling lights would blow out and so would his radio and computer ... he eventually just gave up on keeping them in his room, lol. Usually when I'm upset or worried, the street lights I'm walking or driving under will turn on or off ... and even sometimes if I go out for a walk with a friend and we get into a deep discussion! But it happens with everything! Light bulbs tend to just blow out around me, regardless of my mood, even if they're brand new and I'm just replacing them! All sorts of electronic equipment gets a little crazy, too. I've had radios turn on and off by themselves, clock radios reset their timers (with no power outages, mind you), television screens go absolutely haywire, and even computers reseting themselves or the screens blanking out! My hubby particularly hates the last one and, since he's a computer whiz and can't figure out why, he just tells me to avoid the comps for a while because they seem to not like me at the moment. LOL Also, don't know if this is related, but I get an electrical charge off of all sorts of things, like cars and people ... I just touch them and "ouch!" I've even done it TO quite a few people when I've touched them ... in all kinds of weather, indoor and out. However, I can also have positive effects on electronics as well. At my old job, for example, the fax machine just wouldn't work for anybody sometimes but as soon as I placed a hand on it, it would come back to life ... also the copy machine! Cars also respond to me quite well ... I had an old clunker for a while and all my friends swore I kept it running thru sheer force of will! I'd just pet it and coax it and it would run again if it stalled and I was nowhere near a repair shop or supply store! And if a signal's out on a TV, I can usually bring it back by just touching it ... as a kid my family would joke that I was a human antennae! LOL I'm so glad you posted those links, hrj777 It's comforting being able to read about other people experiencing the same things. Also, thanks to everyone here for sharing their experiences I don't feel like such a weirdo anymore

wow! i'm so excited to have found this topic! this has been happening to my mother and I for years. When I was younger we would always take walks together at night and the street lights would go on if we walked by or stood under them. Sometimes they would go off or flicker! She's a new age kind of person so we thought it was so cool and figured it had something to do with our energy fields. It still happens even when we are not together. I tend to turn the street lights on or off when I drive by them too.Last night when I was posting a question on this forum (about something important going on at my life at the moment) all of the sudden I heard a pop in my computer and it shut right off! Thats never happened before. It was a little freaky and I took it as a sign not to post it, I think deep down I knew the answer. I turned the computer back on and it went back on normally as if nothing happened. I blow out light bulbs too. I can't wait to check out the links above. Sorry to bring back an old post, thats probably been talked about to death, but i'm new here and I just got excited to read about this! Hope I don't blow up my computer! 26taurus IP: Logged |
