hey every One Not long after I posted my article on lucid dreaming Dream Lucidity: Find Oneself Dreaming here in Universal Codes a little while ago, there was a freaky timely/synchronistic happening. Chris Wayan, the artist who had given me permission to use his artwork for my article, reached me through a friend, looking to contact me to ask my permission to use the segment of my own flying dream that I had written in my article at his Dream website, World Dream Bank. It had been 3 years since I had written the article and I have never posted it anywhere else before, so for him to contact me at the same time of posting it here after all of those years tripped me out, in a surprised and smiley way. He has since submitted my dream into his site, in the dream's initial entirety,in which, on from flying, I went on to become engulfed by a Raven's shadow and flew to break free from it and was rebirthed as a baby eaglet. I left that part of the dream out of article, because at the time of writing, I was only concerned with presenting a small example of a lucid dream experience. Chris has graciously painted me (from a picture) as a bird-woman with wings! You can read my dream and see Chris' beautiful art inspired from my dream here~ http://www.worlddreambank.org/L/LUCIFLY.HTM IP: Logged |

Chris Wayan's website, The World Dream Bank, http://www.worlddreambank.org/ is a collection of dreams, described by the dreamer and often enchanced with Chris' artistic visualizations. Well, his brief intro/description of the site is: A library of 1500 dream texts and images, sorted by topic. Do you want funny, sexy, spiritual, scary, or lucid dreams? We got 'em. Dreams are uncensored, but potentially upsetting ones have warnings. Dream well! -- Chris Wayan, 2006 Chris and I have exchanged a few letters, and he's expressed how he is looking (well, always welcoming) for dreamers to submit dreams to his site. From one of his letters to me~ "I built the site partly to help other dreamers who felt isolated or unique. So... what AM I looking for? All kinds of dreams, and especially the odd ones hard to classify, that might make an isolated dreamer feel like a freak. What else? Anything you loved, or that haunts you. They don't have to be advanced, peaceful spiritual dreams--I also like wild adventure dreams, nightmares that force you to face a truth, low, stupid, funny dreams, sexy dreams that leave you glowing (or blushing) all day. I don't know, really--just dreams that help readers see what their own dreams can be. I've been shocked at the spiritual vacuum in middle America that my readers report, and how hungry people are for a practice they can do without external support or intermediaries, that can address burning personal issues and also get them beyond the material level. And dreamwork does both. Oooops, rant! So, really, the answer is: any vivid dream you the dreamer are fond of--and outrageous is just as good as transcendent. You know how eclectic the dreams already on my site are! The only guidelines I can think of are: I'd like the date of the dreams, as close as you can determine, since I keep a chronological index, and of course the dreamer's name, (if the dream's really embarrassing a speudonym is fine. On the other hand, adding your email if you want feedback is also fine.) Both a bio and some notes on the dream's meaning to you are good but not essential. I tend to tell a dream in the present, without analysis, and then speculate on it only in after-notes, but I suspect my style's been affected by reading a lot of fiction--"show, don't tell"--and by my belief (well, suspicion) that dreams ARE real life on some different plane, not just symbolic stories told in the mind. But most dreamers have other beliefs--they should write it their own way. Dreams drawn without words, written up as news articles, poems, songs, whatever!" So, I really wanted to share this here and hope any of you who would like to check out his site will...or if you would like to submit a dream of your own, that would be cool as well. (to do so click on "streamlined Add Your Dreampage" on the top of his homepage)
I really think Chris' vision of having a safe refuge for others to share their dreams is a worthy one and the potential is awesome for dream exploration, as well as learning more about ourselves and the infinitely awing Universe as well, through our Dreams. IP: Logged |

There IS some great stuff on dreams at that site. I haven't checked it all out thoroughly yet but intend to when I have more time. The artwork that Chris Wayan does at his site is just awesome. The bird woman in that artistic drawing of Lisa is an amazing likeness of her. I want to see if I can buy the print from him. Okay, as a mom I can't help but show the pictures. You can see how much his drawing resembles Lisa from her picture here. Hope you don't mind, Lisa

Congrats, Lia... This is Great~ And you are a beautiful person------------------ The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. ~Robert Frost IP: Logged |

Yeah, I love your dream too! Well, the first half where you were happy and carefree Dean. ps, I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that Bono's mum died. Don't really want to know what that dream means, but someone said death could be good luck Probably way to easy to illustrate though! IP: Logged |

Hmmmm, I think you either misread or misinterpreted the last part of Lia's dream, sesame. The part of her dream with the encounter of the raven ended in a rebirth for Lialei. Rebirth is not a happy, carefree thing? IP: Logged |

thank you, everyone All I did was dream a dream I hope you will check out Chris' website. I really think it's such a creatively unique endeavor. I admire his pioneering spirit and the way he is so open to explore and share these other realms and give a space for people to discover more of themselves through their dreams. We talked a bit about future possibilites, such as Dream Theatre (actually a friend of his does improvisational dream theatre ) or maybe in the future, ever expanded from Art depicting Dreams, people being able to produce video/movies of dreams that were profound to them in some way as a keepsake for themselves to remember or even share (show) their dream experience to others. As sometimes Dreams can be just as, if not even moreso, as spiritually/psychologically transformative and profound as experiences in our 'awake' lives. I was really grateful to think how I have a visual keepsake of a Dream that was so important to me. (thank you again, Chris ) IP: Logged |

Chris says that most of the dream themes he receives are most often nightmares...which he's fine with, just that he hopes to collect more dreams of a supernatural, spiritual or otherworldly nature. His original inspiration for his site, was to have a sort of haven for others to share dreams that are so different that they might be hesitant to share them, for being thought of as a freak or weird. Contrary, I find Chris's own dreams fascinating....hmmm, what kind of man dreams such fantastically wild dreams? As this came about naturally and I really didn't plan to post my picture here at LL, here's a more recent picture where I look more naturally like myself (the other was much more make-up than I normally wear--as a Vampiress for Halloween)The one and last time, feeling bashful at being 'out there'.
