http://www.omhpet.com/ I use the wellness brand for my cats. All the meat is human grade, has fruits and veggies, all that good stuff. They are a Canadian company. It is more than I would like to pay for cat food but My cats are thriving on it . Take care, Amber IP: Logged |

wow.. this is awful. I put in a request for free leaflets and stickers and I am going to go into town and raise some awareness about this. People need to know about this. BTW, I feed my cat Innova and he's in great health. We're really poor so the extra cost isn't easy but it's totally worth it for our special kitty. IP: Logged |

Dear Juni,Thanks so much for bringing this to people's attention. Whole Dog Journal has a list of the best dog food to buy. Their article/report on dry dog food can be found in the February 2004 issue. Their canned food list is pretty much the same brands as the dry list. Anyone can order a back issue without subscribing. (although I highly recommend subscribing). I feed my puppy Innova. It is by Natura Pet products. They have a few other brands. If anyone is interested, go to www.naturapet.com. We also feed her the Innova Healthbar dog biscuits. IP: Logged |

I just can't even understand, at all, what kind of people do things like this. It is completely beyond me. I'm not judging anybody or hating them or anything ... I'm just outraged at their behavior. Even my hubby, who is not exactly an animal rights activist (on the surface anyway) was so disturbed that I had to turn the volume down. IP: Logged |

I was really really sick when I received conformation on this issue.I always had a bag of Iams as back up for when I couldn`t cook my own four legged food or for those fostered who needed quick vitamins/minerals and was used to packaged foods. I`m looking into another back up now. so thanks for the info on Innova!!! juniperb ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

Let's not forget all the other animals who are in laboratories all over the world, used for vivisection, and the 600,000 whom are slaughtered each day in the U.S. for man's satisfied little mouthful of flesh. IP: Logged |

Maybe news stations should be alerted about this and asked to report on it. What KFC scandal?? Do you mean the cloned chickens? My cousin told me about that and I have to say that I had found my explanation for the weird type of nausea that I had anytime I attempted to eat from them.IP: Logged |

I've never used Iams - at one point we were using "Food for the Puppy Lovers Soul" brand (or something like that) - it's "all natural", however it gave the dog, um..."bowel problems" to put it politely...We now make her food every night using rice, pumpkin, breeders choice meats, veggies, egg, cottage cheese and the Missing Link supplements. She loves it, no more runs, and all is well. While I know that animal testing goes on in many industries, I found it very ironic that a company supposedly dedicated to pet health treats animals so badly. It's sickening. But I believe Karma will take care of people like that. ------------------ “The good things which belong to prosperity are to be wished, but the good things that belong to adversity are to be admired.” Seneca IP: Logged |

Isis,We use Missing Link too! You know my Vet charges a lot for it and it is actually cheaper at Whole Foods. You'd think it would be the opposite. IP: Logged |

I'm not sure how much Missing Link costs, hubby buys it, I think at a local Petco or Petsmart or something like that.I guess I'm not surprised the vet charges more...you live in Marin...everything seems to cost more up there. ------------------ “The good things which belong to prosperity are to be wished, but the good things that belong to adversity are to be admired.” Seneca IP: Logged |

I really dislike PETCo. It always seems wrong...at least the ones near my home. I try to shop at another one of the local shops but I don't like them to much either... Anybody got a reommendation of a large chain petstore or a small store in LA County...IP: Logged |

Gosh, I'd heard nothing about any of this cruelty...I feel horrible, as we buy from PetCo and our cat and dogs all eat Iams...:eek1: What can you reccomend, food and pet store wise, that doesn't involve shipping from an internet web site, as money is really tight here, although animals shouldn't suffer for that. I live in the MidWest, and there is a Whole Foods down the block. Do they carry a better, yet reasonably priced alternative for pups and kitties? I plan on buying all kitty's food before we head out to CO, so advice ASAP would help immensely. Thanks. to our dear animals friends.------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

No doubt Whole Foods will carry better brands, VAA. Though you should expect to pay more. It's a bummer but I've found that watching my kitty flourish on the natural foods is worth it. I finally recieved the package I requested, btw. It's got informational brochures about Iams cruelty and a bunch of stickers for some direct action stickering of bags of Iams. Just wanted to let everyone know that if they feel like doing some activism around this topic, the materials are free! ------------------ It is an old habit with theologians to beat the living with the bones of the dead. :::Robert G.
