In today's San Francisco Chronicle, there is an article about 2 elephants who currently reside at the S.F. Zoo, who will be transfered to either the P.A.W.S. animal sanctuary in Calif., or an Elephant sanctuary in Tennesee. Both elephants are 38 years old. Lulu is an African elephant and Tinkerbelle is an Asian elephant. Two other elephants from the S.F. Zoo died earlier this year, so animal rights activists and politicians are pressing for Lulu and Tink's release to a sanctuary. Update; in today's paper it says they are going to the PAWS Sanctuary in Calif., not the Tennessee one. IP: Logged |
