My little bum-kins has 'reverse constipation'. ( I hate the other word, and damn! How does one spell it?!)I looked over about an hour ago, after hearing a 'pooter'..... do cats really fart? I never knew! Anyway, my little cute face was having a poop, er... liquid..er... whatever. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? He has only had kitten food thus far, but he has been drinking the milk out of our cereal bowls for us lately. Is that why? I thought milk was good for cats. Any clue or advice for this woman stunned that kitties make noises from their bums? IP: Logged |

Oh Pixie,I don't think it's normal. Please take bumpkin to the Vet to have him checked out. Hopefully he'll get better faster since you caught this symptom early on. Love, Aphrodite IP: Logged |

Awwww poor guy. I remember hearing that cats should not drink milk...or only sparingly. I found this oon the web:"Should i give my cat milk?" Cats can get diarrhoea from drinking milk, therefore it is advised if you give your cat milk buy it from a pet supply shop that specializes in cat milk so that the milk won't make the cat ill. Cats do not need milk if they are getting a proper balanced diet which includes calcium. Milk Despite the cliché, milk is not an essential part of a cat’s diet after weaning, although some adult cats enjoy a saucer now and then. Some cats are even lactose-intolerant, and milk can give them diarrhoea. To avoid upsetting her tummy, why not give her a saucer of WHISKAS Milk? It has less lactose than cows’ milk, and tests show that most cats prefer it. http://www.whiskas.co.uk/whiskas/en-gb/Articles/Nutrition/Feeding+your+cat.htm Hope that helps!

Aha! Thank you! I shall refrain from giving him milk, and then we'll see how his tummy fares. Thank you.IP: Logged |

Cats are lactose intolerant, so I would stop letting her drink the milk from your cereal bowl!If the poor kitty's stool doesn't improve, after a day or two, I'd see a vet Hope he feels better, poor diddums! IP: Logged |

I don't know who makes it, but I get this stuff called Cat Sip for my kitties. It's milk that's okay for cats. They love it.I wouldn't worry too much, sweetness. It's probably just the milk. Give her a couple days for the reverse constipation to clear up. Also, make sure she's not looking like she's losing any weight. I give my kitties dairy sometimes. Usually after a flea bath (Yes, I bathe my cats). I like to give them a little dollop of cottage cheese. It's funny, they growl like dogs when they're eating it. "This is MY treat. Back off!" someone who has decades of kitten care experience gave me this information....she has had to provide her own kitten care as she hasn't always had enough money for a vet, caring for a large population of cats as she does.give them goat's milk blended with one egg yolk. no egg white. half cup of goat milk to one yolk. this has worked wonders for my kittens and they love it. it's especially good for mama cat still nursing too. it's the perfect food for weaning or healing. apparently the goat's milk is far superior to cow's milk and mixed with the egg yolk much better than commercial kitten food. there there sweet kitty...
