How is that tough Beta doing?

I had this problem with a fishy, too. Only it wasn't a Beta. He was hanging in there for about a month and in the first week of noticing, we thought about flushing him to end the suffering. The other fishes avoided him and chased him away from them if he floated close. It was awful. We just wanted him to be painless. Flushing sounded like a possiblity.

We decided against it, though and he lived out his days looking very sad and ugly. He finally passed and then we gave him prayers, but he went on his own time and the rest of the fish are doing good.

Hi all...............

Gramps is well and still kick'in or perhaps I should say flipp'in, lol............I just don't know what to say.....it is SOOOOO unbelievable!!! The news remains the same, still musters up energy to eat and then rests, lol.

Our guinea pig is loosing an eye. Ahhh, geez.......yuckie. I guess they can form tumors behind their eyes and then they bulge out....not a pretty site. Oh, boy this animal business is just not for me....I feel waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to helpless.

My husband brought home our very first cat last week and is on a trial basis,
(yeah right, lol) The cat adopted my husband at his work, he really has a way with animals, its fascinating. So after a month of this cat hanging around he decided to bring her home.... she looks to have been someones pet, but they turned her out....I guess early on you could see where she had worn a collar.

I have to say that I give all of you peeps out there that can handle and deal with animals when hurt or sick credit, not everyone has that ability.

Randall, I'd take another photo to give you guys a visual update, but I would need to clean out his home, and I am scared to death that any major disruption might do him in. Okayyyyyy, maybe I should just do a little at a time, haha.....very slowly and nothing major.....yes, good idea! Look how theraputic writing is, problem solved! lol

Noreenz, glad to hear he's still kickin'!!!!!

I would definitely clean his home: bacteria grows from uneaten food, and poop.

I would just be gentle during transport, but still clean the bowl completely! just my opionoion.

Do you have a purple plate? does he have a little sunshine? (not too much, maybe an hour a day) How is your water where you live? Can you put a small live plant in there? Can you put a female in with him?
