Well, since I will be leaving in a week to work at Walt Disney World for 7n months, I need to leave my beloved kitty behind for that time-period too. I am really concerned about her and would like to make the time apart was easy on her as possible, cause before this, the only time we've been apart is 3 weeks at a time. Any tips to ease the temporary separation for my kitty Belle? She'll be at home with the rest of my family during this time, but I am her "mommy", and we have the closest bond...------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

Hi VAA ~ Wow, that's a tough one. So is she staying at the same residence? (i.e., she's not moving, you are, correct?) Well maybe your family can just give her extra attention during this time. Good luck at your new job!! Be sure to keep in touch and tell us all about it!! IP: Logged |

This sounds kinda gross, but sleep in an old shirt for a bunch of nights--just to get it good and smelly. Leave it behind in her sleep basket, or wherever she cat naps. Don't spray the shirt/clothing with any perfume, just let it start to smell like you do naturally. Sometimes that means it ends up smelling like BO, but cats can identify your particular scent and they are comforted by it. IP: Logged |
