I am kinda sad to see him go. I will miss him even though I know he will never miss me. He is about the size of a silver dollar now and I was haveing a hard time keeping enough insectes for him. I put him in my flower box under my cherry tree for now. That is were the last one I had escaped from. I wish him luck!!! Goodbye Spot!!! BORN FREE!!!!!!!!!! As free as the wind blows, as free as the grass grow, born free to follow your heart.

Nep, I had always planned to let him go. They have so many predators when they are hatchlings. I have fostered several tortosies. I am sure another one will come my way. My kids laugh at me when I sing "born free" the tortosise when I set them free. Thanks for the love!!!!! IP: Logged |

Just bought two Red Ear Slider turtles and spent $100.00's of dollars setting up my new babies in a very nice paradise. Good filter system, great lighting and heat for them and drift wood and some rock for them to bask on. I haven't had any real turtles in my life for 12yrs and I so missed them. I'm so excided to have them again. I just love them!!! I called them Sky and Moon!!!and thought of you Bluemoon when I named the one!!!My husband rescued a big snapper about a month ago, because he was in the middle of the road on a very heat day, of 34'c. He run very fast down a hill to place him beside a small pond that was near by. He was trying to snap at him. LOL It was so funny watching him run with this big snapper in front of him. So glad to hear that you are still caring for the turtles in your neighbourhood. You have such a big heart Bluemoon. Love and light too you and your turtle friend!!! IP: Logged |

Thanks, Solane!! I love sliders!! I have raised some. I let them go when they got tooooo big. I am such a silly person, I put the turtle in my flower box under my tree, today I was watering and he is still there. I guess it is nice there for him. Maybe he doesn;t know he is free. lol.IP: Logged |

Oh my god. I have 2 baby red eared sliders. I could never let them go. One I have had since last year. Tiny cute *****. I rather die.
You can give them vegetables and there little food sticks. Give him vegetables one week and the repto sticks the other week. You left him in a box? Without food? I am confused. WTF?
Will u be willing to pay 40 bucks to ship him over night to a place I know?
He will be living out door with a pond and other RES. I once had a full grown RES and took it in for a while because it was being mistreated.
I called the Long Island Turtle Rescue and now he is living a great life. http://www.turtlerescues.com/ At least bring him to a place with a pond. You can even build a little pond in your backyard. Even if it has been in captivity it will be able to live on it's own outside.

Mystic, He was wild when I found him. He is in an outside planter in my front yard. He love it there. He is a tortise. not really a turtle. a box turtle. there are Plenty of insects for him to catch and he has lots of protection. He does not need water, much. Most of his "water" comes from the juice bugs and worms he eats. I keep the box wet and it has no bottom, he can dig in to the earth. I am sorry you were concerned. I would not harm an animal. I have fosterd many tortises. And since he is cold blooded, he does not need me for anything. I love sliders too!!!! I just feel bad for them if I can provide an environment for them when they get big. I feel like they need a chance to be free. They know how to hunt instinctively. And they will never "care" about you. Their brains are very small. No room for caring.Love to you, Mystic! Thanks for caring. this is kinda what he looks like, he is not that big. IP: Logged |

What a beautiful turtle Bluemoon.I'm so sure that you wouldn't ventrue into anything that you don't seek out some kind of knowledge.LOL!!! Your one of the sweetest and most caring persons that I have had the chance to meet up with in a long time. The colour yellow is very symbolic to me, it represents the opening of the solar plexus (naval area) Open to giving and receiving of your energies and someone or something elses energies!!!
