Me and husband,are planning to own a dog someday.My husband likes the Jack Russell Terrier,I like the Yellow Lab.My husband thinks by size instead of temperament.JRT's maybe small,but they're too hyper!.He thinks that raisng a Yellow Lab will be difficult.
I disagree,cause the Labs I met are not hyper.In fact,the books I've read are proof positive that a Lab is easy to train and groom.

ah. i have owned both types in my life. I had a lab for years growing up, and i have a jack russell now. Both animals were great, and very easy to train. My jack russell is actuallly very calm, and very intelligent. oh the stories i could tell. haha. my cousin also has a jrt, and hers is very very slow, which is pretty unusual. My landlord also has one. hes pretty jumpy, but not more so than any other puppy i know. overall, i love my jrt, and wouldnt trade her for anything, but the lab is an easy way to go. great temperments. great with kids. very easy to train. overall perfect breed. either way, i think youll have a great dog.

That's funny, labs are more a "guy's dog" and Jack Russell are more a "gal's dog".
I am really surprised your hubby doesn't want a lab, because most guys get labs.

Anyhow, personally, a lab is more totally for *me* than a small, barking, jumpy dog. Labs will play sports with you. Labs are humans in dog suits. Jack russells are rabbits in dog suits. Sorry, no offense at all. Jack russells can be cute and adorable

my jack russell is so awesome at soccer and of course frisbee. its all in the training.
