Today, May 17th, while most of us were at home or at work The last male purebred Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit died. There are two females left. They are going to try cross breeding them with a rare Rabbit from Idaho. So far it hasn't worked. Even with cross breeding the species is gone. Here is a pic of what we have lost: Cute wasn't it? Gone because of our stupidity. Go here to find out what you can do to help!!! http://www.fws.gov/endangered/ Don't let our stupidity end another creature. REMEMBER EXINCT IS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! On another forum, someone asked me what do I think of the possibility of CLONING in such circumstances! I would say YES, I would support.------------------ Welcome Home to GhostVillage IP: Logged |

Yeah.. there are so many situations today where I think that genetic engineering is being used recklessly and needlessly but in this kind of situation I think it is totally called for. I hope they will preserve the genetic information so that when our ability to clone has improved we will be able to restore this creature and others that have gone extinct because of human folly.IP: Logged |
