But there is just one set of back feet and one tail. on a funnier side...... is it coming or going? IP: Logged |

Sattvic~ They had a show on Animal Planet about people who breed turtles, and several usually are born 2-headed. They are prized and the breeders sell them for a lot of $$. Do you have Animal Planet in India? IP: Logged |

Just out of curiosity, is it in English or Indian? Do you live in the part of India that is vegetarian? IP: Logged |

English ofcourse. And Neph, there is no language called Indian. Every state in India have it;s own language, though the national language is called Hindi. in my home state Kerala, we speak Malayalam.well, what do you mean part of India that is vegetarian? There are vegetarians all around India. There are non-veggies all around too. The city I live in, is Kochi, which is on the South-West tip of India. IP: Logged |

Yes, I couldn't think of the name of the language. Here in the US we don't learn much about other cultures and countries unless we study it on our own. Well I had heard that either the northern or southern part of India is completely vegetarian. I thought there was a guy on here several years ago from India who said that. I can't think of his name. Ohhh... Moonie, this is sad It must be very difficult to survive this way? Either one is dragging the other or they've each learned to walk backwards... Nephthys, do people try to breed these to become this way? I sure hope not...
Solar Justice, that little kitty oohhh... I think I'd freak out as an adult even, LOL!
Moonie, thank you for sharing this story. I just feel so sad for the little critter. I'll bet he's loved though.

friendinspirit,I'm pretty sure the mutation is not deliberate, but since they breed so many at a time, there are always several 2 headed ones, and people will pay $$ for those. yes, it is totally sad! IP: Logged |

Thank you, that does make me feel a bit better...I used to have this Egyptian kitty that was so cool. Sadly however many generations before him some owners-breeders what have you -bred his greatgrandparents, etc. to have extra toes. Not exactly sure how this was done? But the genes carried on this way. He himself had 6 toes on his front left, 7 toes on his front right, and 5 each as normal on his back feet.[Total of 23 toes!] He was given as a birthday gift to me. My birthday being the 23rd of Nov. this number seemed significant. Yes, he and I were meant for eachother He also had beautiful long grey and white hair, and the cutest personality. He passed away about 10 or 12 years ago, but he'll always be loved! ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit" IP: Logged |
