Hey guys, I'm doing a research paper on Labrador Retrievers and I was wondering if there was anyone who has bred, owned, or considers themselves an expert on Labrador Retrievers! If so, would you be willing to answer a few questions, and leave your name/City/State/Country/email? I PROMISE it will not be distributed, I just need it as a legitimate 'source' reference for the paper. You are allowed to erase it after I collect your answers.

I've owned one. She wasn't purebred, she was a lab/pointer 50/50 mix.Does that count? Be happy to help if it does IP: Logged |

I'm not an expert, but we adopted a beautiful one when I was a child. We lost him nineteen years ago, but I'll try to answer any questions. My email address should be in my profile.IP: Logged |

had one a pure bread female, and she was too smart for her own good, labs take so much time and concentrated attention from their human friends that it is a rare individual that can raise one properly. they are puppies for ever, loyal and i can not stress enough their intelligence. gotta keep them busy, very, very busy, or their ever-thinking minds go cath-wonkas and destroy.. ours had a ball... She would put it in front of the vaccuum, so that when I would push the carpet head, it would "toss" the ball, and she could fetch it.OMG She was so OCD for the ball. It was all she wanted to do, was go get that ball. my email is my username (at) gmail (dot) com IP: Logged |

I had a lab-border collie mix and right now have a lab-husky mix at the house. Does that count? My lab-border collie mix was the BEST dog ever. I wonder if we move this to heathcliffs corner if you'd get more responses...?

Mixes are perfectly okay, as long as they have some Labrador in 'em...hehe. My own is actually mixed with Golden Retriever. So aesthetically, she looks like a black Golden Retriever (the coat is shaggy). And CPN, I put my current email in my profile.

lol starkiss...YEP! Funny thing there.. my 10 yr old broke his arm and wanted to paint my toe nails. So I told him to wait until his arm is healed...he couldn't, hence the not so perfect toe nails lol. Gotta give him credit, he did it with one hand!IP: Logged |

Wait a minute...then what *can* we post in Lindalandcentral? I put the other thread there in the first place because 1) its a miscellaneous part of the forum (unless I've been gone too long and things have changed) and 2) I didn't get that many responses here in the first place. Anywho, sorry Winkaway for the delay...I'll be emailing you shortly. *edit* Oh, sorry...I guess you took it down.

Hey there Bear and I have a 5 month old Lab Retriever. His name is Rocky and we got him when he was 8 weeks old. I've worked with labs before but this is the first time I have owned one. He is a handful, but is so lovable and smart. He has a few quirks as well LOL. He hardly barks but when he needs to go outside, he will look you in the eye or grab something he is not supposed to have (hair scrunchy, remote control, rubber coaster) and bring it to me. He has done well with commands and at this time I am teaching him how to 'Catch' things in mid air and bring them back. He mastered, sit, stay and fetch within the first few weeks. Soon after that he was already learning to lay down and also to wait until Bear and I entered the house before he was allowed to come in. He loves to swim (we've been to the pool and the lake) and gets along with other dogs. Plus.. he hasn't tried to eat any of our three cats. You can e-mail me for additional informaion: I'll keep my e-mail up for a couple of days and then I will remove it. IP: Logged |

BearsArcher.. Yours is 5 months? Yuki (the pic above) is 4 monthsAnd he knows sit, which he learned very quickly. He's my daughter's dog and I don't think she spends very much time trying to train him. I'm sure he'd respond well if she did. Very very intelligent dogs.
