A lab mix named "Candy" that was taken from the Kennebec Valley Humane Society in Augusta Tuesday, was found later in the morning.
And Akida, an American pit bull terrier was returned to the Bangor Humane Society Tuesday around 2:00 by the Bangor Police Department.
Akida went missing Monday afternoon. Officials with the Bangor Humane Society say they are very thankful for this outcome.
Suzan Bell, the Executive Director of the Bangor Humane Society says, "Today is a wonderful day. We are so happy, the humane society staff and volunteers, there were a lot of tears of joy when Akida walked back through the doors."
Bell says Akida appears to be happy and healthy and could be back up for adoption tomorrow. The investigation is still ongoing. A pekingese named Selene is still missing from the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk. Police say they don't believe the three thefts are related.
