http://news.yahoo.com/video/coconut-poodle-reunited-owners-6-184300903.html Reunions happen every day at Sea-Tac airport. But this one seems almost improbable. David and Sara Lukas haven't seen their dog Coconut in 6 1/2 years. They thought their beloved poodle was gone for good when she disappeared while they were living in Los Angeles. Coconut was just a year old and her disappearance devastated the couple. They put up flyers, posters, made t-shirts and bumper stickers, in hopes of tracking her down. "I'm one of those people who thinks that animals are children and this was a child I worried about for 6 years," said Sara Lukas. "'Is she okay? Is she being taken care of? Is she dead, is she alive?'" But last weekend, the couple, now living in Seattle, got a call they never thought they'd receive. Someone had brought Coconut to veterinarian in L.A., who then scanned the dog's microchip. Sara Lukas' sister who lives in L.A. picked up the dog, which was healthy and unharmed. On Tuesday, Coconut flew from L.A. to Seattle, where she was reunited with her owners. "Still trying to wrap my head around it," said David Lukas. It's not clear what happened to Coconut or who had her over the last 6 years, but the Lukas' are trying to focus on the good news, rather than the mystery that they will likely never solve. Now that she's home, there will be lots of catching up to do. "Lots of sleeping on the bed, lots of treats," said Sara Lukas. "Basically, we want to spoil her for the rest of her life as much as possible." Coconut will go to the vet on Wednesday to get checked out. She's in pretty good shape, but does have cataracts.
