Thanks everyone, This has hit me pretty hard, harder than I would have ever anticipated. I have had dwarf hamsters my entire life but I had never bonded and connected with any of them like that one. I have had a pretty rough time this year but he would always cheer me up. When I found him dead last week I immediately took him out and buried him. After I buried him I stood there for awhile and wept. That was prolly the first time I had cried in 10 years! I have been doing better but seeing his empty cage still depresses me. I went to the pet store today and held hamsters to make myself feel better and it helped. I plan to buy a new one Friday.IP: Logged |

One of them hasn't been held by humans so he screams at me when I pick him up, I think I'll call him grumpy the other one is really friendly and likes interacting with people.IP: Logged |
