So now that we are on an island in the Pacific Northwest.. I've become the crazy bird feeder lady. It's amazing the amount of bird food these guys go through. I have to refill BIG feeders at least twice a week and three smaller feeders along with a hummingbird feeder every weekend.
Birds I've seen so far either at the feeder or under it:
Black-capped Chickadee
House finch
American Goldfinch
Black-headed grosbeak
Dark Eyed Junco
Nuthatch
Band-tailed Pigeons -- these guys are huge -- the largest pigeon in North America and really pretty. They are colored like doves.
Downy Woodpecker
Varied thrush
Crow!
Rufous hummingbird
Anna's hummingbird
And twice... a Cooper's Hawk... hoping to snatch up one of my guests.
