It appears Daisy feels the heartbreak of her family's divorce too - except Daisy could lose her life.
People for Floyd County Pets
This yellow and brown Labrador retriever's name is Daisy, and she appears to have just given up. Surrendered to the Floyd County Animal Control in Rome, Georgia on June 23, her family of four years are divorcing, and Daisy (and reportedly another dog) weren't to be included in either party's "asset divisions."A volunteer with People for Floyd County Pets was very upset when she spotted Daisy lying in the rear of the kennel almost oblivious to her surroundings; as if Daisy had given up on life:
"...She was also really depressed just laying on the metal floor of her cage. After a lot of coaxing and throwing treats at her, I was finally able to draw her to the front of the cage taking treats from my hand. Her world was turned upside down; she went from someone's pet to living in a cage..."
Daisy's world has been turned upside down. Although the dog's age is estimated to be anywhere from one to four years, she has been spayed and appears to be friendly. When inquiring about Daisy, be sure to reference #150-1057. Her estimated date to be available for adoption is June 28. A Facebook page for Daisy can be found here. Comments mention a rescue organization may be interested in helping Daisy, however no one has been named; no cat or dog is safe until they are out of the building.
Please be aware that Floyd County Animal Control has just taken in a huge hoarding case and is required by law to keep all of the animals until a court releases the former owners of custody. That means all dogs and cats are in danger of being euthanized for space.
This dog is at Floyd County Animal Control in Rome, Georgia.
