His name is Jack, a bubbly and handsome pit bull whose home for a time was Carson Shelter in Gardena, California. There, the dog's ex-owner brought him there and simply left -- after responding with laughter when the puppy dog realized the owner companion was ditching him.

Witnesses tell of the gut-wrenching moment the pit cried out and the owner show little or no emotion at the thought of detachment and abandonment. Alone, that was heartbreaking. However, it was the Christmas holiday, and it made the dog's plight that much more depressing.

Jack spent the holiday at the shelter, but then the magic happened. Sources said when the abandoned pit bull terrier's story caught the attention of animal lovers on social media, many offered assistance.

In the end, the amazing dog was adopted by a loving family and now has a forever home in California. This story had a happy ending for one lucky rescue pit bull.

Daily, dogs are abandoned for many reasons: owners can no longer afford the cost of care, it is unruly, it has become sick, or any other number of personal reasons. However, rescue dogs don't often share this one thing with Jack: their owners likely didn't laugh when they were forsaken and dumped like trash at a shelter.
