I hated it when they combined their three magazines into the one. But its still a nice overview of goings on in Biblical studies and archaeology. I have been subscribing to it for I think about 7 years or so.IP: Logged |

Greetings...Used to subscribe to it, mainly for info on the Dead Sea Scrolls... but it was a bit, shall we say, dry for my tastes. But yes I am familiar with it at any rate. In the Light... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

I like dry. It was not dry enough for me. But for condensed light reading its fine. But then I guess I am an odd duck...I find Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire fun reading. IP: Logged |

I thought it dry as well, in both the scholarly and uninspired meaning of the word. They dig up fun facts .. ahem .. but never seem to know what to do with them.I also tend to think that the editors have an agenda. They're quite blatant about it at times. Too make matters worse, I believe they're barking up the wrong tree. Nonetheless, BAR conclusions aside, there's a fair amount of interesting info to be found in there, if you're willing to sort through it. I no longer subscribe. Anything of interest in there recently? You're not an odd duck at all, fayte. Lots of people find Decline to be a fun ride. Myself included.

Yes It was indeed dry with an agenda. But, so were my college texts so it felt tedious but informational just the same I recall an article in particular that fascinated me "Discovering Herod's Shrine to Augustus". I wonder if Discovery or History Channel ever covered the subject? I borrowed mine so getting to read them read them was hit & miss at best. ------------------ ~ What we do for ourselves dies with us.
