lol - wow, your view reminds me of what mainstream christianity has been telling others too. that's really fun to entertwine all of our views because I feel your view is a little in the same direction. as a matter of fact, when I listen to people's view, sometimes there is like a fraction of what they say, when entertwined with my view and others, and so on and so forth - create the same picture. No matter what, I am unable to forget or overlook or disregard the fact that Jesus was a human being, without that........how could me, as a human ever understand what Jesus dying meant to/for us, what was given to us, what we are capable of, what we are here for that we sometimes don't do. p.s. i'll get back on the concept of love and compassion because sometimes we do things in the name of love and in the name of compassion but according to who? Well, this is from Matthew 12: quote: While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
So, who were his brethren before he announced they were his disciples? And indeed sisters! Dean. IP: Logged |

Dear Natasha, I do not think Jesus had a blood brother. There is one school of thought that I know of and believes that Mary never slept with Joseph after marriage. She was quite young less than 18 when she married him. Joseph may have been twice her age. Joseph may have married a different woman and bore children thru her (Jesus's half brothers)Nothing is clearly known. The other school o

Dean, Heres another spin on the original post question: I have been thru a whole year of RCIA study and hit on one thought which makes sense to me now. Jesus had quoted elsewhere about how important it is for him to go so that the Advocate would follow. You will not see him as it dwells within your heart.....etc.... The point I am making is that he had to go this way (in sorrowful passion) so that the advocate would appear. This entity is also one with God, per Jesus. When he resurrects Jesus tells Mary Magdalene to not touch him as he has not ascended to the father. Then he spends many days with discples after returning from the father. And finally ascends back to heaven. But before leaving, he breathes the holy spirit on the disciples after his resurrection. He also promises that he would never leave them orphan and will be with them till the end of time. Cosmos works in mysterious ways, why must thing happen this way? May be the real estate of Jesus's body, soul spirit is much more than mine and billion other christians

Greetings, If the paragraphs are taken in a literal, Intellectual sense, it does appear Jesus had a physical twin If one was to study it further, from different schools of thought/perspective, one would find that there may be a more Spiritual meaning behind the words Blessings, ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

did anyone see the 1 hour special about Jesus death and "resurrection" on abc (? is that what it was) on friday night after the muppets special? i'm thinking that after jesus was crucified (sans still debating where he was buried) that his disciples actually removed his body and took it to Africa during the night. what do you think considering the "myth" that when returning to the place where Jesus was buried, his body was gone? ok - i was just asking your opinion since while watching the show, that idea came to my mind. Funny, I never thought of it before. Never thought about after the crucifixtion. plus i saw Kingdom of Heaven this weekend. thought someone might have a thought to add.i've watched tv this year so i can't really say i don't watch tv. i don't have cable and i don't really have any set shows i watch. i would say i watch more movies and listen to more music and i've started to read again (finally, some really freaking spiritual stuff was going on and i couldn't get myself to focus on here/now for a while)- tv is last on the list of to-do. p.s. actually, i just so happened to catch the special because i was so excited about seeing one of my biggest crush's, Kermit the Frog, on tv and the special came on right after. I only watched a half hour of the hour show. IP: Logged |

Dear Dean, For completeness of this thread heres another thought which made some sense to me. It was made by a well know television reverend. He said "When Jesus died on the cross, he became the Sin." Well that was some fuel for thought. May be later I will come back to the thread and contemplate. IP: Logged |

Yes, thanks Iamthat. I've liked your other thoughts about this. If you consider that Jesus was the turning point of time, then he died to enable us to see ourselves in the new time - ie AD. However, I wouldn't call the last two thousand years all that enlightened. Very terrible things were done in the name of Christianity, and many attitudes seem very archaic still. And yet, the age of Aquarius seems to have dawned a new belief and faith in Jesus that he was so awesome. I think the dark ages, being Pisces were more into the beliefs than anything constructive (I'm not saying Pisceans aren't constructive, just that they embody the principle "I believe"). Jesus existed at the start of Pisces. I wonder how he would be met in this age. In any case, I wonder how he would've gone on to teach and instruct people had he not died in the first place. I'm not sure if he would be so powerful, and yet why not?Dean. IP: Logged |

Hi sesame. That is a really good question. I am a believer and the way I look at the crucifixion is that Jesus loves us all and offered himself as a living sacrifice to save us. It was the ultimate act of love. If you love someone, truly and wholeheartedly, you will lay your own life down for them. That is real love. I understand that God the father loves all of humanity and we are all His children. Well, that is my belief anyway. Jesus was amazing. His love was complete. God's love is perfect and He is just. Jesus shows me how to treat other people. He taught us to be kind to each other and look out for one another. He is an amazing being if you ask me!IP: Logged |
