Don't know but when you find him/her/it let me know and we can compare notes. So far I only know it exists within me and love is all that matters; so God must be the most pure balanced and at the same time explosive love out there. It creates and destroys. IP: Logged |

I agree pretty much with SattvicMoon, although for me, God is Mother and also Father.I also like what Linda said about the word Dog and God- that Dog spells God backwards because Dogs can show us exactly the unconditional love and devotion that God is.....the other day I was watching "Snow Dogs" and I got all silly and emotional during the bit where the dogs save them (a bit unrealistic how it was done, nut never mind!) and I got thinking about Dog/ God....tears came into my eyes....LOL. I love cats too....I feel they have a pretty good philosophy on life....albeit they could one day evolve to be vegetarians...... IP: Logged |

Vegetarian cats would not be cats any longer. If they evolved to that point they would no longer have those lovely fangs nor the claws nor their fascinating graceful stalking prowess. They would become dull and fat like some near brainless bunny instead. God forbid the noble wonderful cat becomes a mock cud chewing dull witted stupid ruminant.

The food-chain is fine for this dimension.....I guess what I was getting at was if/ when we all move on from that- not just cats but everybody. I adore cats, by the way. *Edited* to add: Basically, if one could feel a universal love for all beings.....would they want to always continue to kill beings for food? If an alternative could be offered? Aren't all things possible? IP: Logged |

Maybe a meat tree could be grown or meat melons or something. Like solid meat spheres that are not attached to anything with a brain. Cloned meat maybe? Makes me wonder if there was once a plant that bore pods or such that was in essence, a real meat. quote: King James Bible And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

What if some of us would love like cats, (being like a "predators") unlike loving unconditionally like dogs; what if that would be ok? Just like some are vegetarians and some are not (taking or preserving)but that would be ok, because some of us love dogs, but some of us love cats and that makes it ok too.hmmmm,....... puts a new definition to right and wrong. SattvicMoon, "The Universal Energy that is everywhere and in everything, but cannot be contained in anything. The energy that permeates within everything, on everything the energy that drives universe - is God."And, Fayte, I like your poster ------------------ Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year.... The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. I cannot tell you what God is. You have to come to a knowing individually. Any answer will raise a thousand questions. So being quite for now IP: Logged |

Well, my view always changes, but I think I'm steady in the belief that God is hierarchical. Hmmm, Fayte, would you mind lexing this word? Anyhow, the reason is that there is One Universal "God" which is Love and Energy (which is also Mass) but on the lowest level, God can be seen as a conduit into the Universal. Like a TV or PC allows you to see data from around the world, so too does this conduit allow you to see and feel the Universe in a personal sense. I never like the idea that One God can receive all messages and acts on all prayers, but the conduit (or higher-self, over-self, arch angel, guiding angel and spirits, soul / spirit, etc) allows us to have an individual angel / angel of life. If this did not exist (of which I fear may happen with Agnostics and Atheists) then the link to this utmost power may be hindered. It still exists, but to drive transmissions requires faith and hope. Do Agnostics and Atheists have faith? I'm sure they can hope, and really don't mean to judge, but I never really understand their belief systems, but then I also have agnostic moments. I just think there is too much evidence to suggest God exists, but yet, there also seems to be much evidence of a lazy or inactive God. In any case, I Hope that we can control our future, and have faith that our lives have plans and meaning. Here's to 2008! Hip hip!Cheers, Dean. IP: Logged |

I have delayed replying to this thread, and giving my own answer to Who, What is God? because I have felt very "in-between" lately. My final answer is that God is Universal Energy and Intelligence. God is the "Force" ~ an energy that permeates every thing; biotic and abiotic. (living and non-living). Although, I have made a decision: (kind of does/doesn't have to do with this thread, but thought I'd state it here anyways). I have decided not to live my life based on astrology anymore. I don't want to have to explain myself the whats/whys.......... so I just hope everyone will respect my decision about it, and not bash me for it. I am not looking to debate or argue about it. I don't even feel like explaining. The bottom line is that astrology for me is hopeless, and that's all I feel like saying about it right now. Now back to God. I am having a hard time understanding the family who got hit head on by a drunk driver coming home from Xmas, where the mother and 4 children were killed, and the father and 2 children are left survived in the hospital. This is just devastating, that this happened. How are the children supposed to grow up happy, how is the father supposed to have any hope or faith, that this happened? IP: Logged |
