lol in their face. So funny. But seriously, why do you think they keep all the newly discovered info under such tight wraps? The churches have atleast some info that they don't tell their parishoners, atleast I took that from the Tomb link. Why oh why all the mystery? Are we too dumb to know, or too scared, or money, evil? Because...without the whole concept of virgin birth and a resurrection...Christianity would die. And now too much money is wrapped up in it as a corporation more than a religion. Alot of greedy people would be out of jobs. And how does one take back centuries of misinformation that people have killed for? Or died needlessly for? Very embarrassing for sure.IP: Logged |

Very embarassing, indeed.Fayte... I'd be interested in hearing your take on the whole Virgin Birth thang. I'll give mine first... maybe that will help you to feel more comfortable sharing your views. (And please remember, I don't care if we disagree... I like hearing alternate thoughts. Hearing things from another perspective often probes thoughts I wouldn't have otherwise had. I like having my thoughts probed. ) Ok... so I have a very hard time buying into the whole Virgin Birth scenario. It wasn't at all uncommon at the time for such a young girl get married/and or pregnant. It is easier for me to believe this young lady got herself into this situation, and saw no way out of it but to say that it was an immaculate conception to spare herself the scorn and social ostracizing that was sure to result in her admitting her big mistake. This one is a very big pill for me to swallow. IP: Logged |

Egoyeah, I agree. Just thinking of the name "Hundred Year War" makes me sick, sick , sick! and over so little, comparable to what could be out there now. I told you guys my husbands family think I'll be in hell. I tried to have a conversation with my sis-in-law, I was not trying to say anything other than interpretation can change a lot. She immediatley said, I am just where the lord wants me. How could you not even look? Baffles me... Thanks again to you wonderful people! Must sleep.... IP: Logged |

fayte.m I was just thinking about you, hope all is well with your extended family! I have been on the Tomb of Jesus site and found a Hag...?? site that is great. Now reading the GTh. Very facinating. Thanks for the great links. My husband reminded me that when we first met and were discussing religion, that I said I believed Jesus walked the earth, but was not what Christianity made him out to be. I am still searching, and loving every minute of it. Thanks for opening up! I have really enjoyed your views. LibraSparkle.....Where is my book? hehe Should be here soon. My dad wants me to send him the stuff you put on here from the book. Thanks again. IP: Logged |

Regarding Virgin birth, resurrection, Its all about self experience. One must come to his own truth, I believe. Jesus said "How can you remove the timber from your neighbors eyes when you have a log in your own?"Did anyone study the mystic poet Kabir? He was really something. When he died his hindu followers wanted to cremate him, while the muslims wanted to bury him. He made it easy by leaving basil leaves behind instead of his body. Well don't know how much is true. Thought I will share. Heres one of my favourite of his. Enjoy..
quote:
Where do you search me? I am with you Not in pilgrimage, nor in icons Neither in solitudes Not in temples, nor in mosques Neither in Kaba nor in Kailash I am with you o man I am with you Not in prayers, nor in meditation Neither in fasting Not in yogic exercises Neither in renunciation Neither in the vital force nor in the body Not even in the ethereal space Neither in the womb of Nature Not in the breath of the breath Seek earnestly and discover In but a moment of search Says Kabir, Listen with care Where your faith is, I am there. - Kabir
Heres another : quote:
What is seen is not the Truth What *is* cannot be said Trust comes not without seeing Nor understanding without words The wise comprehends with knowledge To the ignorant it is but a wonder Some worship the formless God Some worship His various forms In what way He is beyond these attributes Only the Knower knows That music cannot be written How can then be the notes Says Kabir, awareness alone will overcome illusion

One Sunday morning, I joined a friend for service at her church. During the group invocations (they were "praying" for someone), I was overwhelmed with the feeling that this had similarities to a coven. What I mean by this, is that in a coven the 13 members gather in ceremony and usually have an Invocation of the God/Godess. They ground, center, and raise energy in order to do this. The essence of the God/Godess is then brought down to the group in order to continue the ritual. In the Church service, the group gathered together in a circle and began to pray and chant, raising their arms saying "I feel the spirit" etc. Some people got very emotional, and began to shake and cry, etc. Afterwards, mentioned my thoughts to my friend, and I swear it looked as if she wanted to slap me.IP: Logged |

As am I Sue There's wisdom in most religious/spiritual teachings I believe. I'm really interested in reading about the Kabala and the Koran. I read, make my own conclusions and blend aspects of it together with what will work for me IP: Logged |
