What religion, or not, do you feel most connected to?
When You are asked on a form what do you put down for your religion?
Me? Spiritist....not Spiritualist.
Actiually I tend towards a blend of Spiritism balanced by the logic of Buddhist Humanism. Both alone are too extreme for me.

On forms....same, or other, or nothing. http://spiritistdoctrine.com/spiritistcreed.htm

A church, a temple or a Kaba stone,
Quran or Bible or a martyr's bone,
All these and more my heart can tolerate,
Since my religion now is Love alone.

No religion.

I beleive there is something out there but I beleive in love, good and bad and making the right choices without hurting other people.
They all go together is up to us to do the right thing.

Hi Fayte

I identify most closely with Hinduism. Ie, whatever I have discovered about it up to now.

I go to a Unity church. They are my spiritual family. I also belong to A Course in Miracles Study Group. These both give me a great deal of spiritual nourishment, along with whatever else Spirit inspires me to look into. Books, movies, websites, a random comment from a passing stranger! Our next lesson can come from anywhere. Even a topic in LindaLand!

Born a Hindu, and unlike how it is perceived today, Hinduism is a way of life not a religion. It is the destination that matters for a Hindu, not which path you follow - provided it takes you to the destination.

That said - I am a Spiritualist and an anti-religionist.

i DON'T believe in religions, there are no religions in the EAST. Religion is all bout Mind Control .Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and other estoric disciplines are expressly pronounced as Pagan by the Vatican because===
there is no Dogma. No rules , no possibility to control the masses. I am a great admirer in Christ , as i am a reiki healer, but i dont buy the Bible version of his life, which infact has been altered over 2000 years to suit the whims and agenda of the powers incharge.Paul , who hated Christ and foulmouthed him initially, went all the way to Jerusalrem to bismirch his followers , a century after he died. Suddenly when he met these followers , he was struck by the potential behind a genuine humanitarian such as christ. And he established his Church, he manipulated the teachings of Christ who was an Essene , to suit his power needs. The Bible, all the codes of conduct , the dogma of Christ as a figurehead, women being devil"s accomplice, degradation and fall from heaven by sexuality, was all manipulated by Paul ( A frustrated homosexual himself) . if the christions and catholics have to be honest what they are followin is Paulianity. PERIOD.
personally i was born a Jain. but am following Tantra, which is a Science.
try this to understand better.

May be that is why Hinduism appeals to me. (bcoz its a way of life and not a religion per se)
I am not very well read about it, and only recently started to take an interest in it. The thing that i like about it the most, is that though I was born a Hindu, my parents never really laid down any rules i must follow. I was never told to go to temples, or perform any rituals. Now, it is of my own accord, that I am reading about it. And there is absolutely no compulsion to agree with the teaching of the greats.

Hinduism is so vast. (again that may be becoz it is perceived as a way of life....and there can be many ways). I identify with it because of this very spirit, this flexibility, this tolerance.

I am probably more of a "skeptical agnostic theorist" instead of any actual religion.
None are open enough for my tastes.
I just got tired of folks asking so I reply
with the ones I can see the most personal connection to. I have seen the most wisdom in Tao, Buddhism, Hindu, Islam, Spiritism, and certain Native American and Maori beliefs.
I also see wisdom in the non Biblical writing such as parts of the Nag Hamadi.

Christ is not a person, its a state of consciousness, that is same as Krishna .krishna , Christ note the resonance...
looking at all the recent books and that other thread by silverstone , sure the church story could be a farce, there is no historical evidence of a Jesus. but tons of evidence that a christ like figure existed in the time period claimed by the church and was probably turned into a posterboy 200 years after his death. this is an exercpt from my Reiki thread

======================================

the origin of REIKI as follows..............

DR. USUI who was the first reiki master was a christian minister in a japanese university.one of his students asked him to explain how CHRIST healed people.as he had no answer, USUI left the job, n set out to seek the answer to this question.this led him to christian institutions in AMERICA, EUROPE et al, with no consequences. then he heard about the stories in buddhist tradition about the healing powers of BUDDHA that had many parallels with the biblical accounts. this led him to BENARAS ,the oldest city in INDIA which has monasteries of every religious tradition that exists in INDIA.here he discoverd that CHRIST himself had spent 11 of his 18 missing years, that the BIBLE just pretends not to notice. the monks at the monastry in response to his pleas let him examine several manuscripts that they had been unable to decipher anyway. this is when he stumbled on the HOLY GRAIL!!!!
even though he could read SANSKRIT, the incantations, were not followed by instructions, he had to work out the method of using the energies for healing purposes on his own.he took the information with him, back to JAPAN, and proceede, to meditate for 21 days on a mountain, when atlast the technique finally dawned upon him, this is the REIKI doctrine that is taught by REIKI masters

as for the religion versus spiritual question,

CHRIST was definitely a REIKI master of the highest caliber. read " JESUS LIVED IN INDIA " to see how the 2 stories fit like a glove, he was a definite HEALER, and all instances of miraculous healing in the BIBLE are true.read the LOTUS SUTRA in the BUDDHIST DOCTRINE, he was initiated into healing by the buddhist monks he congregated with in INDIA.
THE REIKI energy is neither CHRISTIAN nor BUDDHIST, the energy that flows through the healer flows from his or her HIGHER SELF

=======================================

i think all should read "jesus lived in India ". living in India i did check the geographical info in the book, it is true.

Deanoism (I've stopped trying to collect disciples and followers though - the principles are too inconsistent).

I wanted to legally counsel folks and the only way one can in my area is to either have a degree in counseling or become ordained.
But all in all I actually am no religion, only a theorist and a skeptic.
