Oh My Goodness.....I sent the prayer to all my email buddies and one of them just blasted me!!!!!! He claims to be an ex-seminary student and he was offended!!! How can that be? I thought it was beautiful!! He said I was making false claims!!! Holy Smokes!! I feel like someone slapped my knuckles with a ruler!!!! What do you guys think? Sounds weird to me!! ------------------ Hugs,LTD ~~The struggle keeps us young~~Daring to make mistakes and knowing there are none.~~DGM IP: Logged |

Dear La-Tee-Da, Like you said, you send this prayer for all your friends and just one of them felt offended. "Prayers don't offend people, people offend people." And this,of course, was not your intention, therefore , there's no problem. To people like this, when appears something that can unbalance their " faith " they feel insecure. I put this prayer in "Uni-versal" Codes exactly because "Our Father" for me is a universal prayer, no matter what religion we have. But this is my point of view. I received this prayer from a very dear Catholic friend . Then I ask: Which one is the real Our Father ? The one that we all know or this ? If Jesus was among us now ,do you think for him would be any difference ? I am sure that he would give His blessing to the two versions. "Believe in the unbelieveable, this is faith!" the Fajita:See... God has a purpose for everything! And a great (if occasionally twisted) sense of humor! Everything happens for a reason, even if we are unable to perceive it at the time. Blessed Be... IP: Logged |

This was one of the most BEAUTIFUL prayers I've read. Thank you so much for sharing dear!La-Tee-Da...if you give love and receive something different in return, don't blame the sender. When light falls upon shadow, the ground remains cold for a little while. You keep on shining, love. daf IP: Logged |

Here's another interpretation "Our Father: from Aramaic.O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos, Focus your light within us - make it useful: Create you reign of unity now- Your one desire then acts with ours, as in all light, so in all forms. Grant what we need each day in bread and insight. Loose the cords of mistakes binding us, as we release the strands we hold of others' guilt. Don't let surface things delude us, But free us from what holds us back. From you is born all ruling will, the power and life to do, the song that beautifies all, from age to age it renews. Truly - power to these statements - may they be the ground from which all my actions grow: Amen Abwoon d'bwashmaya Nethqadash shmakh Teytey malkuthakh Neywey tzevyanach aykanna d'bwashmaya aph b'arha. Hawvlan lachma d'sunqanan yaomana. Washboqlan khaubayn (wakhathayn) aykana daph khnan shbwoqan l'khayyabayn. Wela tahlan l'nesyuna Ela patzan min bisha. Metol dilakhie malkutha wahayla wateshbukhta l'ahlam almin. Ameyn. From Prayers of the Cosmos, meditations on the aramic words of Jesus Translated and with commentary by Neil Douglas-Klotz For those of you wondering why the different version, it's because Aramaic is according to this author not literal and exacting. One aramaic word could have possibly six different meanings. The language can express many layers of meanings. Does anyone else realize the implications of this? There is no literal exact interpretation of Jesus' words. His words must be intuited and felt. Someone decided which version we should hear!
