I like Keys to the Kingdom, too, except for the YES and NO thing (DOOM, SIN, DIE, SINK). But not everyone is a lexigramming fool so ...

So, hang on. Is this to be a study/debate organized religion forum or more of a share our personal views on religion and spirituality forum? If the esoteric and spiritual stuff is staying in UC, including angles, (things which constitutes a "religious" kind of life for many of us, imo) then what are we actually going to do in a religion forum? Like study the different organized religions? Just want to clarify so the suggested names fit ....

Oh Gosh.
Let's HOPE it's not a debate.

We here could debate whether the eyes on potatoes actually see, and find several factions of eye-blindness and eye-seeing.. I'll bet a few eye-smelling ones too.

Eleanore,

Uni-versal Codes
Star signs, numerology, word druids, fairies, dolphins, unicorns, psychic phenomena, ghosts, The Thunderbolt Path Of Accelerated Karma, Free-will Tinker Toys, reincarnation, deja vu, religion, philosophy, avatars, GURUs, Isis and Osiris, UFOs, Twin S-elves, The Saturn Seven Cycle, Higher S-elf (Oversoul), astral travel, plant perception, and synchronicity

Maybe Universal codes can keep all of the above, except religion and philosophy/theosophy.... otherwise, I think it will be redundant.

Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year....
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep. ~Robert Frost

Universal codes already covers the OCCULT and MAGIC, which covers Angels, Fairies, Elves, Runes, Numerology, Symbols, Gemology, Crystals, Spells, Chakras, Astral projection, UFO, Aliens, Aromatheraphy, and Color Theraphy; and all of the below in Universal Codes; actually, Aromatheraphy and Color Theraphy can be covered in Health and Healing. But I think Religion and Philosophy/Theosophy can have its separate place.

Uni-versal Codes
Star signs, numerology, word druids, fairies, dolphins, unicorns, psychic phenomena, ghosts, The Thunderbolt Path Of Accelerated Karma, Free-will Tinker Toys, reincarnation, deja vu, religion, philosophy, avatars, GURUs, Isis and Osiris, UFOs, Twin S-elves, The Saturn Seven Cycle, Higher S-elf (Oversoul), astral travel, plant perception, and synchronicity

LOL, Eleanore, I thought you like "Somewhere over the Rainbow," or "The Keys to the Kingdom?".... I am running out of names, but those 2 are some of my favorites.

Well, I do like them. But for a philosophy and religion forum, sans angels and other esoteric stuff, they don't really seem appropriate. And Keys to the Kingdom is decidedly Christian. It doesn't bother me and it is quite Linda but, if the forum is to encompass all religious teachings, then I just don't know.

I'm a little uncertain as well. "Religion" is stated as a topic for Universal Codes. Why the seperation? Also, there doesn't appear to be a high number of religious posters here. For the most part, we seem to be decidedly anti-religion. Pixelpixie makes a good point. It would be a shame to set up a new forum just so we could debate and debunk religion.

good points.
Anyone can go read a book, look online, whatever to learn about other religions.
That does not need posted. It would be redundant. Stock concepts.
And debate or posing new views and theories seems to engender both positive interest and p!ss folks off. The p!ssed off ones sabotage real discussion by pushing their religions as pure fact and all rational discourse soon ends or worse a brawl ensues. And even worse, the personal attacks simply for wanting to think outside the dogmatic boxes.
Maybe a separate form is not really needed.
Unless it is a forum to truly discuss and question not push one's stock faith/creed, which as I said, can be freely found on the net or in books. No need for duplication of the stock information.

Well, yes, that's what I'm afraid it might degenerate into. To set up a forum to discuss religion that becomes nothing more than an outlet to bash religion, seems not entirely in the spirit of LindaLand. (unless you count GU, but lets not )

I imagine everything in the Astrology Forum, for instance, can be found in books and other online sources, as well. I visit infrequently but it appears that those who post there are believers in Astrology, sharing their opinions and experiences.

I can't think that everyone here believes entirely in each topic put forth under the forum headers. On the other hand, we don't see too many posts rallying against the foolishness of believing in fairies, astrology, purple plates, lexigrams and the like. In general, this is a New Age site, so I think its fair to assume that the poster either believes or is open-minded to the issue. Which brings me back to my original question. Why a religious forum for a group that doesn't appear to be particularly religious, if not to bash and debunk? Do we really want to do that?

pix ~ you always make a good point. sometimes it's a very naughty point ... but it's still a good point.

So we can assume that is a precious childhood picture of you doing what you do best? And flinging it too?

So hows about leaving the scatological jibes and jokes to BlueRoamer...he is at least funny when he does it.

Randall liked the name I came up with
DIVINE DIVERSITY
I have done nothing but made suggesrtions and then lo and behold you come back just to go at me!
I was not bothering you.
I was not insulting you.
I have avoided you and you have not been here in weeks that I know of.
It is very rude of you to come back just to insult me for suggesting names.
You have some serious issue girly.

Why do you disappear for weeks only to return to attack and insult?
You are making it about me by insulting me and being rude at me for no valid reason.

(Nasty insulting picture from Solane to me, deleted by Randall.)
I was not going around having any goes at you.
Back off Solane.
You have your "high" chair elsewhere..so go sit in it.
We are trying to come up with forum names for a LindaLand forum.
