I used to do that as a child...Rubbing his belly with much force coz I thought..the more pressure I apply the more It would make him laugh thereby my wish would come true faster!lol!

That is charming.

Did your wishes come true?

This is a photo of the Sanchi stupas that we visited in last Sept. It is in Madhya Pradesh state near Bhopal city.

It was built by King Ashoka and has the Buddha life story sculpted on the arc.

Here is another stupa in its vicinity. There are quite a few on that site. Its on a small hill overlooking the nearby expanse of fields. Greenery all over the place and around it too. Its a world heritage site.

rogershepherd.com

Here is a link to some info on it.

No. That was the only time i went. And this site if i am not mistaken (don't know for sure) was not visited by Buddha himself. It was later built by Emperor Ashoka.

You might be already aware that Bodhi gaya and saarnath were where he got his enlightenment and gave his first sermon respectively. My friend who visits saarnath says she experiences very soothing vibrations whenever she goes there. Very peaceful and mind quitening place. She is a gemini and has a hyper active mind. If her mind can be put to rest there then its something. lol She is terribly talkative and it seems she sits quitely over there. I find it very difficult to imagine that. ROFL.

O, I believe he must have had children!
And they made him laugh and laugh...hehe

Mary and Jesus had children, we now know
they were married!
I was watching History International this
morning! They talked about their marriage.

He had a son. When Buddha visited his Kingdom as a monk after his enlightenment, his son joined him. Some say his mother asked him to join Buddha while some say it was against her wishes.

Edit: I noticed a link given by Emeraldopal above. Its interesting and throws some light on some info of his wife.

Some people debate that Buddha wasn't a perfect person; Who is?

They say that he wasn't perfect because he left his son to do what he wanted to do, attain enlightenment.

He even named his son 'Ball and chain', like his son was a burden. Buddha was human, after all.

I still love and respect him, a lot.
