I read this article and it really hurt my heart and sensibilities To think a major religion would publicly speak such drivel and biased nonsense and be lauded for it, is just plain brutal to the human heart. Anglican Archbishop of York speaks out on riots The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu has issued the following statement on the recent riots in England: "Like everyone else, I am shocked and appalled by the behaviour of individuals this week who simply have no care and respect for other people. We need to send a message to those who rioted and looted, committed crimes of arson, burglary, theft and violent acts against people and property; that not only was their behaviour mindless and destructive, but has a massive human cost. These vile and evil acts can never be justified. We cannot simply measure the damage in pounds and pence. It is not just about the rebuilding of shops and homes set on fire. It is not about the cost of repairing windows and walls. It is about the communities that have been torn apart by a selfish underclass that has little respect for hard work and decency. An underclass laid bare in the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry and the Damilola Taylor Murder Review reports. http://www.indcatholicnews.com/news.php?viewStory=18757 ------------------ Submit to Love without thinking, as the sun rose this morning recklessly, extinguishing our star-candled minds. Meh.. forgiveness and love are overrated in the bible anyway. (/sarcasm)I wonder what made the desperate stratifications in England anyway.. Oh right.. it was an anomaly that formed in a vacuum. Do not seek to be understood but to understand. Let's condemn the f*ing byproducts of our society! Great gospel therein.. It's been proven that if the underclass is given opportunities for advancement, this stuff just doesn't happen so much. High unemployment and racism in hiring practices (you can't deny the statistics). The unrighteous killing of a man. IP: Logged |

Anger can make people say crazy things, even ofc if he has been feeling as such about the "underclass" all along... No its not right, but there is alot of confusion and frustration in the air at the moment, nobody has there head screwed on right :| ------------------ “It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.” Philip K. Hypocrisy has always been rife amongst the powers that be, whether it be of a religious or political nature. I can't say I'm surprised. Where there is power, there is manipulation.IP: Logged |

Some useless information for you here - I lived in the same village as this idiot. A place called Bishopthorpe just outside of York. He lives in a "house" called Bishopthorpe palace which is straight across the road from a church that my ancient relatives donated land for. I think they played a big part in building it too. But yeah - he's an idiot, he's obviously never read any philosophy or he wouldn't have said something so "unenlightened". IP: Logged |
