The atheist reply: Because most people are delusional.
The feminist reply: Because we live in a patriarchal world that equates masculinity with power and dominance, while femininity is disregarded.
The new age/hippy reply: Because religious fanatics don't yet understand that God is really the one soul of two twin flames - one female/one male.
The Astrologer reply: Because it makes us look reasonable and level-headed that the rest of the world still believes in a bearded old man watching over us from up above.IP: Logged |

I saw the OP before I went to bed. As best I recall it was something about how the elements of water and earth are female and that the air and fire are male which she linked through astrology. I don't recall how she linked fire to God the Father (I vaguely recall something about power) but she did link air to the Word of God (obviously the Christian version which places emphasis on Word). There was also something about how to be careful of how you spoke as the throat chakra could make things happen...I didn't see anything about it that was provoking and it was connected to astrology (still probably would've gone better in DD) but I didn't see it as particularly insightful either (not to say it is therefore without value, especially as a topic starter, just that I don't think it was a great loss and that anyone who looks for such ideas would easily find them along with many others). It was practically one of the basics of the Western Magical Tradition (if revering the Christian Bible as divinely inspired, and while not all such WMT groups do, I believe they all incorporate astrology that are ultimately part of God/ess), one that is then shed for a more complex view as one initiates to higher grades. But it could be useful for one wanting a paradigm for incorporating astrology into Christian mysticism who doesn't want to wade into the deeper waters (and there's nothing wrong about deciding to "stay in the shallows" like that).
