Vajra!

This made my day ~ sounds weird but it did!

I LOVE that church and feel so happy it exists!!

And I'm thrilled for you, that you got to spend time there, and build memories there.

Looking forward to the video.

Thanks so much!!

or in this Star Wars flashmob in central Cologne. I just love in both vids how the faces of some bystanders first look nonplussed ("Who is making a noise here?") and then lighten up: "Oh, it's Star Wars!"

Or in this flashmob vid from a Heidelberg University cafeteria, where students performed Beethoven's Ode an die Freude. Aren't those students just awesome musicians, even though they're not music students?

I guess I wanted to say - a place is what we make of it, collectively.

Thank you, Vajra!

I loved coming along to the church with you and your daughter, in my mind. I remember being a child and forgetting how interesting places could be, as well...so I could imagine her shock, as she discovered that place...it seems sumblime.

Helsinki, I never would have guessed you had a connection to Finland. I try not to be envious of your interesting life but sometimes I fail. I wish I was born in Europe.

I love how you broaden the whole point of this thread by pointing out that a place is what we make of it.

Perfect

I need to go on a video-watching spree soon...I don't want to miss your links!

Thanks again!

The ceiling and dance in this vid is also impressive.

Thank you, Vajra!

I would LOVE to meet up with you in Finland someday, if you could meet me there. I really appreciate your generous offer!

It's not possible for me now...but maybe some day? That'd be amazing!

We'd camp, right?

I agree about the waterfall house...I've never seen the interior, it's nicer and homier than I expected.
Hmm...well I just miss travelling, it's hard with a family.
If I could, I would just be a nomad.

@mirage

Thank you, I love this video! I don't know what they are doing exactly but it looks fun..and the music is so nice.

Never knew what Vajra meant:

Now I do. Fantastic name!

Vajra... Glad you enjoyed your Beautiful Dance! In Tibetan-Buddhism, your name has to do with a tool that stands for the various Wisdoms.

Wait until Randall sees the menu-- I bet he'll just LOVE those entrees...

I'll go for the hotdog soup, the cheese, the meatballs... but I'm allergic to fish, and rye. *gosh dern it* I used to eat plenty of that, then it was like suddenly couldn't any more. Solved a lot of health issues when I made that discovery. It's a 'high-histamine' sensitivity. Can still eat shellfoods, though. Yay yummy shrimp!

Those pictures are breathtaking, Vajra. Thanks again so much for posting them.

I like canned sardines on whole grain rye crackers.

Wait let me check the box....

Oh wow! The brand I always buy is called FINN CRISP and it's made in Helsinki!!!!

^^ My favorite cracker

Why didn't I think of this before?? Or read the package before? Too busy gobbling them down I suppose.

And you're right Vajra...actually my ambitions are right in line with what you said, very similar...
and I have a website domain name already reserved for the book I've been writing about this on and off for several years.

Psychic fun with tr sun conjunct Neptune in Pisces!

No we don't have to camp, I don't insist.
I know nothing about Finland except the people are smart,
the language is the most difficult language in the world to learn,
and it's cold like the rest of Scandinavia.

Oh and my husband loves Finlandia ...he put it on our family iPod and we listen to this in the car. <3
I love the song too, but he's the one who found it.

Thank you! I feel like I'm taking a virtual tour of Finland!

Funny, I was just reminding my husband earlier today of a quote we heard someone say a while ago:

"Just be yourself" is the worst advice you can give some people.

LOL

K, when I go, I will just keep my mouth shut.

I love that picture of the old man chopping ice. Your grandfather was that tough, too?

Wow I hate cold weather with a passion but I am jealous of cold-hardy types. I read about polar explorers just so I can feel happy that I'm not as cold as them (it's cold enough here!) Really I want to live in the desert, I don't care if my skin turns to leather and I have to eat cactus and lizards. It's worth it to be warm.

So nice that you have your sun and moon on good terms with Neptune.

I just love your grandfather so much.

I don't know what to say!!! Or do!!!

But how cool...cold...freezing

I know what you mean about saunas...

Just because I was in a hot spring in New Mexico,
in the wintertime...

^ Like that.

And moved from the water to the snow...
And stayed in the snow, in a bathing suit for several minutes
before finally getting cold and going back to the water.

Under the stars that night.

Someday I would like to go to Iceland...

For this...

But first I could use some of this...

My name has a lexigram for SEASHELLS in it.

I claim that as my calling and destiny.
