Thanks sooo much for finding those. Watched them both. It's not my computer, and I would have to run it by rm. There's a software now that runs THROUGH rm's personal email identity and password. I used to be able to shred/delete things I didn't want on top of my on desktop, but with this most recent download, there isn't a way for me to make changes anymore. It used to be a separate login to make administrative changes. Now, Microsoft has taken over and manages everything under rm's private email password. I think he likes things that are very easy, and subscribes to anything automatic they can do for him. The 2nd video showed how to delete the item they use to automatically install their software. I'll let rm watch and see if he wants to do anything with it... Thanks for the help, LK. IP: Logged |

@Mirage: No problem, hope it’s of some use to you! Unfortunately I don’t know a whole a lot about WIN-10, but you should have control over your own desktop & login if you give both accounts’ Full-Admin rights (ofc, that’s up to your rm’s discretion most likely)… Again sry for the OT… but I’m going to get right back On Topic in just a few mins (Wink) ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

(I hope this doesn’t come across as preachy (too matter of fact)… or worse, just saying what I see in Observing our World and our often Frightful Position therein…)In my view when it comes to the “Selfishness” aspects of Altruism and why people say this nullifies or somehow demeans it…? The Friends Video I posted (previous Page) goes into explaining that quite well (along with many posts made by others) but beyond this Paradox I’d be very quick to replace “Selfishness” with “Self Empowered”… that the driving force behind the Mechanical “Naturalism” (as Satan from South Park Explains) is in actuality the Holistic (Self Unconscious & Collective Unconscious) + a type of Nietzschian (Will to Power) … That when we see someone in need (or just a situation requiring alittle touch of Beauty/Goodness), a deeper part of our Awareness recognizes ourselves in the other… and the “Good” feeling we get from helping someone (the Underlying Awareness triggering the Dopamine Chemical Reaction of a Naturalist Model) or when making a situation better is actually realizing… “I just helped myself”! Another part OF myself on a different and Unique Journey of Exploration… and on their Journey (the Hero’s quest) they gave me the chance to play something other than the Fool…! Just as perhaps they had done for me in another time, in another place… maybe at some point back in History… or when my Awareness was maybe just that of an Aquatic Existence or even a particle… they helped me… gave me a charge and set me on my way (Giggle)! Even if they didn’t… it doesn’t change the fact that once you choose to view people in a Holistic sense… what will always make the most sense is that helping (being Altruistic) is what we would want others to do for us given the same scenario… excluding one very simple rule… and that’s the “Momiji Trap” or just being straight up silly about it (George/Torhu Honda)… (Because then you are reversing the scenario and putting yourself in a situation of needing help… which to me just seems counter intuitive to the person who is Aware of the Altruistic Dilemma… unless you want to view the Actions of those people as a kind of “Diabolical Genius” (which also works!)… In just getting others to Think/Act Altruistic towards them… and further still other people after experiencing the Self Pleasure of it.) Yet at the same time… The counter-weight/balance (Darkness) to this Unconscious Phenomena of “Good Altruism”… is that it can feel as equally “Good (Dopamine Pleasure)” to keep people down, that you can just as easily see ALL people (ALL awareness) in a Pure Naturalistic POV and say… “Anyone below me is Food, and I’m going to need more Food to take down those who are currently above me…” and in the exact same fashion one can apply Nietzsche’s (and other Philosophers) “Will To Power” in a more Negative Way (Disregarding Holism (Holographic Uniqueness and Infinite Potential of every Particle (even every concept in/of Existence) by applying more of a “Oneness” motif)… meaning all that matters Ultimately… is Oneself (One Tribe, One Nation, One Religion, One World, One Ideal/(Idea) etc…), … not ALL selves (Unique)… (A return to the Oneness (Purity) of “Maximum Power” at any cost… and by ANY means (even Ascetic Sacrifice) to experience “Godhood/Heaven”) Which in a very weird way (Oneness) can also represent True Altruism (perhaps the Truest form (Upon Ultimate Completion… which still has All kinds of other Dilemma’s/Problems!)… IF you can see the Delicious Paradox of that situation! There is no Right or Wrong way when it comes to Altruism, just a Choice and an Alternating POV… (Shrugs) - (And I’m not speaking about Morality), Morality and the Interplay with Altruism is a WHOLE other Minefield… And so… in a Good/Bad or Cosmically Indifferent Universe… it feels Pretty Damn Awesome to be Altruistic, and “Stupid” not to be… (Giggle) Because Altruism is Satan, Buddha, Trump, Freya, Jesus, Yoda, Cthulhu & and every other Deity/Guru [Approved]! In fact (whether can you understand this or not) despite your best (and worst) efforts… you can ONLY be Altruistic (Giggle) There is NO escaping it… but you can choose the Path you take while Exploring such… and who knows where that could lead… for it’s why we Exist… (Wink) I could add more, but that’s all for now (Nods). ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

Pixie and LK.... There's a hurricane (Mathew) that is heading towards me and other LLers who live in Orlando-- It's category 3 right now, and may strengthen to cat 4.If you don't see me for a while it means my place got hit pretty hard, and property destroyed. I don't own a personal sophisticated internet phone device, so, I won't have any way to get on the internet (for maybe a long while) if our property is unlivable. Pearlty (YW mod) has my (obmaphone) cell number. It can exchange unlimited texts incase I'm gone too long and you want to say hi or something. I won't be seeing any of my emails if I can't have computer access.... so if Randall tried to say hello, I might not be able to be reached that way. I might be alone in the apartment going through this?... I might try to find another human in the 'hood to hold hands with. I've been through a cat 1 hurricane, that was scary enough-- but this is cat 3 or 4. So, please don't quote. .... If they get the power back up later in the week, and computer isn't damaged, I'll come back here and say so. Storm will peak Friday morning 3 am to 4 am (according to latest news), so it will be the darkest of the night. So anyways, I have all kinds of mixed feelings going on right now. A part of me thinks everything will be fine?, but then, that's not the 'reality' of major hurricanes. The cat 1 hurricane I went through took out power to the area for over 10 days. This is a 3 or 4. I'm rambling here.... Just, big changes are probably on the horizon. ... In the cat 1 hurricane I had been in (I was housesitting for a woman, and she didn't know the hurricane was going to hit), someone was insisting that I come stay with them, and I could even bring the dog with me. ... I hesitated because I had told the woman I would watch her house-- there was no way to contact her. She and her daughters were having an unplugged vaca. HAD I gone... Had I taken the invitation to go stay with that other person?, a giant tree had fallen on the part of the house they offered me and the dog. I could have been killed. Another friend (same storm) said that had they gone to hide in the closet, a giant tree limb would have killed them. So, this stuff is real... And I was very very lucky for the cat 1. .... Please wish me Good Fortune for this one. *No quoting* IP: Logged |

Good luck, mirage. You might find it useful to get a phone with internet on it. Even many of the homeless manage to get them so some must be fairly inexpensive. I personally wouldn't want to surf the net too much on one, but they could be useful for getting short messages out to friends, families, and message boards.For anyone wondering about the different categories, here they are explained: http://www.coastalliving.com/lifestyle/whats-the-difference-hurricane-categories ETA: More here on LL: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/236430.html IP: Logged |

Your making me cry...... THANK YOU for Caring about me. It's good when Good Persons Care..... I'm just exhausted right now, physically. The storm did a lucky glitch pushing out from our area only 15 miles, but it made a HUGE Difference in the intensity of the winds. It saved lives. I'm smiling, because my rm actually for a moment 'believed' that it WAS the action of prayer-energies FROM my personal friends that nudged the storm out from us having the most-dangerous HIT. And in a kind (maybe egotistical way?), I will heartily agree with him. YOU guys did it....... And I am sooooooo grateful. Anyway, I'm a physical wreck from having overworked my body, pushing and pushing and pushing WAY PAST the point I should have quit. I was SOOOO SCARED of not being adequately prepared. I realize after this, that I was over-prepared in some ways, and not prepared enough in other ways..... The storm was KIND, and merely highlighted to me what and who FRIENDS are and DO, and how strong a word of kindness can be to me. I'm just bawling and bawling my eyes out right now..... just shaking. It's physical-emotional exhaustion.... AND, sonics today from neighbors. Just adding fuel to lack of being able to rest from this. It might take me longer to recover, because of how shattered I got PLUS NOT having place afterwards. Like trying to draw a bath when you don't have a drain plug to capture the soothing healing water. We've also been experiencing computer glitching more again. I could open my email account, but hard to click on pieces of mail. (The videos I like to watch are glitching too? but I think it might be because *they* are trying to annoy us into purchasing products.) Pearlty has been my point of contact here at LL. Prayers to South Carolina folks right now.... Just got a notification. Amazing.... The Power of a Storm. In ALL the different connotations and meanings of that statement. IP: Logged |

(I'm going to have to spend some catch-up time here... so sorry. And, I have some very practical things I have to do this week, after the storm. Have to put things back in order. Hopefully will be a much more EFFICIENT order, so I don't have to overwork and stress out so badly next time... although, there's hardly anything you CAN do if it's a storm of deadly proportions.) What you said about cell phones and internet capability really makes sense. The phone I have is not as fancy as some of the homeless I've seen use (believe it or not, LOL). I've got the obamacell phone lifeline... has free texting, and 250 minutes of time (which if I listened to all the scam calls left on my voicemail, would be eaten up!!). I used the texting with Pearlty to exchange messages with her before and after the Hurricane passed. Your idea made me think of the senior center nearby here... Maybe they have folks there who could show me how to access internet from my 'bama Phone. I know that the nearby public library gives classes in tech things. I USED to go there and take classes. My card expired because I didn't renew my driver's license (to save ~$80.00 money). The organized local radical extremist Christian-righters had targeted to interfere with me (because I was studying astrology.) ... AND, they had a bad compressor in the AC in their ceiling, and it made me feel soooo sick, and triggered migraines after a while. I gave up on our local library.... for all those reasons. The senior center may or may not accept me. You have to be 62?? I think. I won't be 62 until e.o. May 2017... But maybe SOMEBODY will look the other way?? LOL. I had thought to volunteer at a business who could teach me computers in exchange for my doing work.... Still have to investigate that. And like LK showed me, there are things on youtube to teach.... I'd tried some of that before, and had picked up some proper hints. So thanks BOTH of you for your advices... Sending Good Vibes ... IP: Logged |

^^I'm glad you're doing better, mirage. I saw what you posted earlier but I didn't have time to reply then. I do now but I can't review what it was, so my reply will have to be from memory, but I think it's somewhat related to this thread in general as well. My experience with private charities that actually use the grant money the receive competently and kindly, who make a positive difference in people's lives, end up getting more support and more grant money. This in turn makes them attractive to the venal and worse who try to get in. Many times, the people doing good work have such a hard time understanding the view of the con-artists that they're all too easily fooled by them, and too quick to believe in the good intentions of others (as that food bank I used to volunteer at discovered, which effectively destroyed them). And even those who have world wise people to guard against the black hearts will eventually lose people to life...they have to move, other concerns come up, even just the economy (people who care for strangers more than money tend to not have a lot of it), and every time that happens it opens the door to the bad people. Once the corruption reaches high enough then those left who would oppose the said corruption are gotten rid of (the smarter will do so carefully and may even drive the honest people to quit first) and then the people who are helped are then screwed over. Since the people helped rarely have legal representation and often face cruel prejudices (sometimes even by caseworkers, which to me is like a school principal that hates kids, but plenty of principals like that exist as well), it's usually a safe way to rip off grants and such, though from time to time they get sloppy and thrown in jail over it (unfortunately, many get out of jail to do it again and again, even on bigger scales, and one such convict has risen high yet again in an absurd scam that has contributed to the worsening of public schools all across the nation due to their involvement with Common Core, but that's a long story). Usually, it's the rich that can afford justice, not the poor. The mental hospital that was exceedingly cruel to me and other kids got away with all their abuse, but the insurance companies ripped off prosecuted them on that much at least (though the doctor that tortured me fled to New Zealand and I have no idea what happened to her after that, presumably she continued her profession since she was more of a beneficiary of the fraud rather than actively engaged in it, at least as far as private investigators hired by the insurance companies could prove, and it's all down to what you can prove in court, not what you know). That inspired me to call some private investigators after the food bank was about to be closed, but their prices were so outrageous that even if they pulled a miracle to quickly restore the funding, we'd probably still have to close down to pay the fees. To an insurance company being bilked, the price is worth it, but it's about impossible for a struggling food bank to hire them (at least the ones I called). Government is another matter, they have bizarre rules (that can change unexpectedly to something equally bizarre) that seem random even to the private charities. They have a vested interest in using as much funding as they can because otherwise they lose it the next year (a practice they pass over to private charities that try to tap into that funding, if applicable), and they must prove a need...IOW, they are motivated to fail! Even if they resist the temptations of Mammon to do their job as intended, they will be punished for success with diminishing funds, which means laying off workers and losing resources so that they're no longer effective, at which point if the principled person in charge doesn't quit then that person will likely be replaced by some con-artist who wants a sweet, sweet deal by blaming the one in charge and taking his or her place (and then, though the lack of funding wasn't blamed before, demand more funding, and as scammers know how to cut more deals with scammers, they're likely to get it). And it's everywhere, at all levels of society, at least in the USA. But I don't want to make this any longer than it is, so I'll just add a bit on the principals that hate kids, as I think I know why they're so common...people who join school boards tend to have ulterior agendas. Sometimes it's seen as a stepping stone to a political career, and these are actually the ones who are likely to sincerely try to serve the schools and community (as by doing so they serve themselves and their ambitions--though this is complicated by how communities tend to think, like special privileges for jocks and most not wanting resources "wasted" on special ed), while others have different agendas. Like one I heard of was part of a milk business that sold milk cartons for a nickel each, save at schools that they managed to get their members apart of, those schools paid a quarter for the same milk carton due to their influence on the contract to buy it! Of course they'd want principals who wouldn't raise a stink about all the corruption and dirty deals, which means one that doesn't care about kids, but rather someone who just wants his pay with minimum hassle, especially one willing to try to sweep problems under the rug so that too much public scrutiny doesn't get focused on the school board (furthermore, they tend to protect bad teachers who know they better toe the line if they want to stay at the table while teachers who get proactive in trying to make positive changes have paper trails started on them which eventually lead to their dismissal if they don't stop making waves). That is, those out to screw others over watch their own backs and put in people who will minimize problems (or at least look the other way), which is why so many schools suck and so many charities and social programs suck. It's like a bunch of small conspiracies that are unconsciously working as a grand conspiracy to corrupt the nation at all levels, though most are doing it to watch their own backs (as they know they have to) while those actually doing good usually don't think to cover their backs the same way, and sometimes don't stop to question the motives of others who claim to want to help or serve (which is believable to the sincere helper as it's true of one's self), which puts those trying to make a positive change at a heavy disadvantage, and the fact that the altruists are focused on helping people (with money a means to an end) while the bad guys are focused on the money itself (and thus play dirty to both get and keep it) also doesn't help. And yet, interesting enough, the altruists are still there despite this, and sometimes those gaming the system (including those who are part of it) are made to pay for their crimes (or at least unethical behavior) which goes to show the system isn't entirely corrupt (even if those prosecuted are being thrown under the bus, it still means that the venal have to watch their step and cover their tracks). It's not that everyone sucks, but those who do tend to have an advantage (unless they can't, or don't bother, to hide that they suck, though even then some...won't say names this close to the election...seem to do well). I could go into this a lot more which would branch off on other topics, but I'm sure this is long enough. IP: Logged |

Lei_Kuei.... omg, you choose some of the most Beautiful graphic depictions. Thank you soo much for the greeting AND the picture. {{ }} (Thanks for the Angel for everyone, Randall.) Pixie.... You replied with Depth of Understanding of what I had written, then cropped. Glad you saw it. I wasn't sure how appropriate what I said was going to be here, so I removed it. You have SUCH a clear understanding of what goes on. I've read some of your other posts over the years. You have a lot of street-smarts about what went on... PLUS, you DO have a Humanitarian Spirit. Some people view individuals like you and me as Dreamers or Utopians. But I say, when you have Direct Experience with what-evil lurks within leaders, and you try to expose it, purposefully or through accident, you get blackballed and labeled, and this can damage you soooo unfairly. You read what I said about the grant, and you mention that some places have used it correctly. hash-tag, Would you believe....? When I suffered the 'consequence' of ~accidently having exposed that vile-worker's corruption, I wound up in a condition of homelessness for a while. I spent a couple weeks (at local airport, disguised as a traveler, well-groomed) ONLY temporarily, to get a freaking-grip on what had happened so severely to my life. That FIRST NIGHT.... I sat on a bench with a woman from Kansas or Nebraska, or some middle state like that. ... Would you believe... SHE was a Govt person, IN CHARGE of that exact-grant I had had. She TOLD me, that what they did was WRONG, and that I was CORRECT in what I interpreted about the Rules of the very very special Grant. (Oh yeah, The Universe KNEW what it was doing, to have given me the unction to go to the airport for the night, and arranged for THAT woman to have sat with me waiting on her airplane for those overnight hours. I was VALIDATED.... Didn't help my circumstances???, but I KNEW and was smoothly settled in me, that I was intellectually and ethically-morally correct. After that, I had MAJOR physical hardship and suffering that I 'paid'... Hiding out and disguising as much as I could, my state of nonsheltered homelessness. I know that if I had to experience that now?, I'd never make it. I don't have the physical stamina it takes for that anymore-- which, as you know yourself Pixie, is VERY VERY harsh on the body... (not to mention the 'predators' that lurk, the very dark dregs of society). You know the 'stereotype' look of an old female on the streets?... They don't stand a chance of making it into decent employment or any kind of help. They wind up on psych meds, stinking.... pretty bad off... *bawling my eyes out* There, but for the grace of God, go I... Thank GOD I made it out of all that, ALIVE. I have a good chance to re-do or re-make my life now, and I'm scared sometimes that I'm not going to make it. But I HAVE to Believe, that there WILL be a Way for me. I'm glad to be with rm right now. That worked out. My place has gnarly niggly things that scratch at my physical health every single day..... but at least, I can say I'm still good lookin' and that I am STILL Alive. Hallelujah. And as far as your story about the mental place, and what that corrupt doctor did to you, then moved to New Zealand??... I had heard things on the Grapevine about that person (I think), and that circle of people involved out there.
I had belonged to a tiny group of virtual friends for a while in earlier 2000s. We storehoused and contributed newsarticles to a common repository on people like that, and politics around it, on our own created webplace-- until changes occurred, and we had to halt. But we helped make people aware that things like that were happening.... (Our little group disbanded-- no idea what happened to each one afterwards.) But, I wanted to say, that I feel a deep deep underground Rage about what happened to you in your experience, Pixie. I KNOW you are telling the truth. And again, I'm soooooo proud of the work you have done. I know it's sooo hard to experience and SEE and be an activist with those kinds people who can take you out. They need more probono workers in Law that can snag some of those scummy operators... I think it's remarkable that things like the Sandusky trial ACTUALLY got results. That the Vatican people, priests who DO that to foul the lives of our children, would HOLD such Lofty position and beee sooooo foul. *bawling again* HOW can they DOOO that???? To expose what happened takes SUCH PHENOMENAL COURAGE. And LARGE GROUPS who stand up for them. It's time.... Soooo many lives, soooo ruined. Such Much Suffering. So Much Suffering in this World, all around us. God Grant Us The Ability To Change the Things that We Can... And for People Who Stand and Make A Difference, Together. United We Stand, Divided We Fall-- And If Our Backs Should Ever Be Against The Wall, We'll Be Together... Together You and I. -- lyrics hahahaha... Blast from my teen years!!! Gremlins again? Then I'll keep it short. (ETA: yep, gremlins already made this post more difficult than it had to be.)I appreciated the above. But what brought me here was because I talked to a guy today about the problem of social services, and how such people tend to be subject to unfair judgments and harsh prejudice. He shared with me about when he got on social security, and described what I've heard before on how bad it is. But when it finally goes through, he's in a nursing home fresh out of spinal surgery. The social security worker was told how to contact him at this nursing home, and then nurses took the call who then had to get him out there in a wheelchair while he was in intense pain (and had a catheter attached, etc) to do the interview. Remember, his spine had just been cut into, so even holding the phone was incredibly painful, and as this dragged on he said he may have to cut this off as it was getting too painful...and the worker on the phone said in exasperation, "You don't have to convince anyone anymore." So...this woman makes this judgment that he's faking without ever seeing him (this despite multiple doctors vouching for him, save the one SS made him see, of course, who didn't really examine him at all, just asked him a few questions with no tests and sent him on his way). And that apparently this call to a nursing home for post-op patients in which nurses got him were all paid actors for the purpose of fooling social security! That's not being cynical, that's being mind boggling stupid! How in the HELL do people like that get government jobs!? And that reminded me of the woman I helped out with the groceries. I know I've shared that before, but this time I want to emphasize, she was doing fine until the one managing her unemployment benefits LIED to her saying they were going to run out unless she got a job. She got the only job she could (being "overqualified" for everything else available) at a McDonalds that liked to hire people for 6 months and let them go. But after she lost that job and she tried to get back on, it was reduced to account for her pay at McDonalds rather than the high paying job she had before, and that was when she learned that her benefits would not have run out. So why did that government worker lie? There was no benefit to the self, that was being evil just because it's FUN. I'm remembering one of the guys I helped at the food bank. He was mentally challenged (and it was obvious just looking at him), but not so bad that he couldn't work (he also did some volunteer work there even as he benefited, and to me he seemed just as capable as most people, it just took him longer than it would most people to learn or do the same thing). No one would hire him, though, unless they got paid to do so (he did eventually get a job). Hearing of his social worker got me to tell him that his social worker needed to be fired and her job given to him, because he had more sense and responsibility. And I meant it, I think he'd literally make a better social worker than his own social worker. IP: Logged |

PJ... I read your post in great detail at least a half-dozen times yesterday.Stories like those seem ubiquitous, all over the USA. (Can't speak for other countries.) So many lawyers have worked on cases having to do with these kinds of abuses (at least in my area). You know what I think is missing, in a way? Some kind of repository where these stories are gathered, then analyzed (probably by computer). I'm sure the lawyers could add many pieces of information if we gathered them all up. Even interviewing people who ARE on the streets, or in poor housing, etc, who use the system and are NOT being adequately served. Churches and Foodbanks (who are overwhelmed with people NEEDING the help) could add... You're right about how WASTEFUL it is (right now) with the managing (grant money administrators, lower managers) and the servers (workers). In both places, you have persons working who don't care for their job, don't care {in fact, some seem to HATE these people}, workers who definitely aren't qualified for various reasons, and or are miserable people and unhappy. (For a small while long ago, I had dated a person who was in an administrative role in Social Services here, and he just absolutely DESPISED Blackpeople. Everywhere we went... One time in the car, we were passing by a blackman on his bicycle. His mouth was incredibly foul!!! Filled with violent fantasies towards that man... AND ~HE was being paid to Serve these people. Really?!! -- I dropped that person out of my life sooo fast.) These kinds of needs to flag stories, and flag abusers working in the system, need to be looked at more carefully.... Maybe there's some kind of intervention or teaching these people need! When I was more proactive in all these issues, seems that there was a ceiling, where you can't penetrate and have TRUE effect on the system.... It's a kind of plastic wrap, designed to catch anything that COULD make its way UP in the officials' ranks, to make a Difference. Instead it is blocked, then rendered inert, at certain regional levels (at least, in my State). If this is going on in other regions and States, then this needs to be looked into by powerful influential (compassionate) people. ... I recall one phone call I had placed to the highest levels of government one afternoon. Bush W was in office. I got the person who was 2nd level down, and the top person of that particular issue-- so, I was talking to the highest I could reach. ... And I want to add here, that I'm always fair, factual as I can be-- NOT blaming, but Informing so that things could BE examined, investigated. I'm not a pushy loudmouth instigator kind of person. I approach things with a kind of pressing (yes), but Always as Level-Headed as I can do it... Seeing all sides of the equation, sifting, looking for solutions. .... The ANSWER I received from this TOP Govt official was that "There's Corruption in Govt and you're just going to have to take it!. .... *Jawdrop* I had a 'freezing moment' as I hung up from that call.... My father had worked in the military for all my life. He had faith in the way things are supposed to work-- that you deal with every rung on the ladder, appropriately, and if you don't get results there, you continue your climb to higher authority. The Govt is SUPPOSED to 'have your back.'
That freezing moment was shattering. My utopian vision of a Fair America, and that the Government was there to HELP people, just all fell in shards on the ground. That was a breaking moment in my life.... It wasn't as my father (whom I idealized as well) SAID it would be. There are CREEPS in Govt. Foul people, who DON'T have a HEART for The People. You want to use that word Deplorable??? Yah, THAT's another way. You know how in child abuse cases, or, deadly germ and disease cases, there are agencies who automatically get cued, then these are investigated?
.... There needs to be 'some' kind of place where stories (like yours, like mine, like that blind man I met who was a really decent person) are collected, and analyzed (anonymously, even). These lawyers fighting cases with HUD, with Discrimination, with Elder abuse, Nursing Home abuses, etc, could be compelled to place the details of the story into this repository. .... They will FIND the Pattern--- Then it's the application of strategic tweaks to the GRAND system, that can help effect the needed changes. (My theory, anyway... *sad*) You CANNOT keep ABUSING people who are rightfully respectfully USING what is AVAILABLE to them THROUGH all the taxes they have paid. The people on disability ARE suffering.... Stop ABUSING. And if the worker doesn't like it? FIRE 'em. Omg, the pain-drug giant fiasco that went on in our state was DISGUSTING. And Bush W's program deprived soooo many vulnerable people... Added to the NEEDLESS suffering. Drove up costs!!!, denied meds for epileptics, etc. Created scapegoats. (Big Pharma) The pharmacists were withholding pain medication from people who had JUST gone through surgery, had other pain problems.... 'just because' of people who were deliberately prescribing to known ADDICTS and Pushers. Stupid. It was Abuse.... Some pharmacists had KNOWN their client for years, and STILL could not give them their needed medication. Anyways..... ~duh. .... LOL. Mercury square Mars today!! *grin* I'm not overall angry right now, but get flashes when I think of abuses. I'm just Being Expressive today. ... Although!!! There IS plenty that other people should be aware of, and then angered about in society. Things that have been hidden for so long. What has been going on is not right.... and it HAS been VERY longstanding. Too Big to Fail? Too Longstanding to Effect Change on a Pattern? ... We'll have to see what this presidential election brings us. IP: Logged |

I know people try to collect these on computer, but it takes money to keep those sites running, and it's all compartmentalized (so one will just be about police abuses, perhaps even just police abusing the homeless, though I've seen a useful one that is probably maintained by trucking companies that list where the most notorious and ridiculous speed traps are, and I use it to plan my road trips). The pattern I see is that once in a blue moon an investigative report will broadcast it and people will care deeply about it...for a week or two, and then forget (and then there's "hidden advertisements" like where one exposed kids as young as 14 giving lap dances at a club who were given license by the police, stonewall, most people forget save for the perverts who take their dollars to that town, and I'm sure that was the plan by the network, stonewalling police, and "exposed" strip clubs all along). And in the library I've found books detailing the findings and problems of police abuses, mental hospitals, and the like that were separated by about a decade...and though they all pretty much reported about the same thing but acted surprised. Didn't they see the earlier reports that reported the same thing when doing initial research? Why pretend it's new? And it comes up on the news all the time...kids record abuse at school on their phones (the only way they'll be believed, and schools have been known to suspend kids for doing that, like this case ,as well as blaming phones saying they're a distraction when their real reason is that they're a legal liability). I've read of how often a phone was accidentally switched to record at a moment that busted someone and people act surprised when to me there should be no excuse for not knowing that the bad stuff goes on a lot. I know that's depressing. I think to an extent it comes from the "you need to think positive" bit which has been warped into, "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil (and thus allow evil to continue)." What's really odd is that most people say I'm too cynical (though a few say I'm too naive), and yet nearly every time I turn out to be wrong it's because I'm not cynical enough! So why do I keep hearing that I'm too cynical? And there's also the part where people base their understanding on society based on their small, select group of friends. (I don't do that, I look to what's popular when I want to gauge greater society, and that portrays a very different group from most people I'm close to.) Combine that with that they don't want to depress themselves with reality and it also shows how these problems continue to fester without being properly addressed. On the bright side, there have been differences made. One guy talked about the prostitutes in front of elementary schools and the beatings that went on in broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon which everyone, including cops, denied it. So he started JohnTV so that people couldn't pretend that the reality right in front of them didn't exist. This last minute here (it should start at 6:30 and it's just a little more than a minute longer after that) explains that. As he says, "...it's one of those topics no one wants to talk about, where you can't help but talk about it when you hear there's this nut running around recording people engaged in it." (Frankly, I'm surprised he hasn't been murdered yet, and possibly even targeted by the police. I'm sure in some cities I've been in that he would've been.) There are similar projects in the work, like Granny cam. Look for people doing this (especially when it affects law enforcement, politicians, and corporate board members) to be made into a crime itself in the future (as those who make it illegal also expand their own wiretapping capabilities saying, "If you've done nothing wrong then you've got nothing to hide"). Btw, mirage, I'm about to start asking around, and I'd like to ask you, and perhaps those you know...how have presidential campaigns changed over the decades?PLEASE NOT in this thread. Please make it in another one, it can be GU or Lindaland Central. I'm not asking specifically what you think of the current candidates so much as how has the tone and such changed? I've seen John F Kennedy who, despite whatever scandals you can tag to him, spoke intelligently, respectfully, and with dignity (IOW, he'd be completely out of place in the modern political landscape, though it would be funny to see FOX News try to trip him up, as they would try to do, and I don't think they could). While a lot of the reading and such I've done shows that such campaigns could get dirty and ridiculous at times, it seemed they were still dignified...at least when compared to today. As for myself, I started paying close attention in 2000. And it seems it gets worse with every election, like it's becoming closer to wrestling in tone, and like those obnoxious reality shows, and this current campaign tone has sunk into the gutter like an episode of Jerry Springer at times (it's almost to the point that I'm expecting them to include rap battles between the candidates next!). People don't seem to want leaders anymore, they want to be entertained. Politicians don't even respect each other with their obnoxious behavior, wagging fingers into the faces of elected officials, making low blows against the underage kids of politicians, etc. And what's really odd is that passions and fears (and worse) are running really high, but I saw almost no stickers or signs for Hillary or Trump for many miles around, and I hear it's similar in many other places. I'm not sure what to make of that. I don't want to do an essay on this, so I hope what I'm trying to convey is getting across. If maybe in another thread (in say Global Unity or Lindaland Central) you could share your observations, and perhaps that of others of your generation? Again, I'm going to ask around myself, but I'd like to hear from more than those I know well enough to ask. IP: Logged | |
