Yeah, I think I essentially look the same as my 2006 photo. I'm 26 years old now, and my hair thinned a bunch from age 20 through 22, but the thinning has slowed some over the last few years. Same weight, 215 lbs. And same neglected facial hair. And yeah, I have a problem with buying guitars... With the 9 instruments in the photo, if you add two other guitars that I've sold, one that I smashed, and a violin and mandolin that I left out of the photo, then I average acquiring one stringed instrument per year since I began playing. Scorpionic Web! Well I think you are quite handsome! So which one is your favorite guitar? What kind of music do you play? And why did you smash one? Wow! You play violin and mandolin too? I wish I were musically inclined. ------------------ Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Well, thank you very much. Bunnies compared my 2006 photo to movie character Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), I got "Matt Damon" comments constantly when in my teens, but I don't think Matt Damon is particularly attractive, so it's not the easiest compliment for me to consider. But maybe I (Scorpios?) don't know how to take a compliment.Wow, I don't think I could pick one guitar as a favorite. They each offer something different, and I could go on for hours about what makes them important or unique to me... sound, playability, convenience, history, personal sentimentality, etc. My music style varies a good bit, I want to do it all!! Throughout my teens I was a die-hard blues and classic rock guitarist. I've spent the last couple years doing solitary acoustic (versus electric) stuff. Nowadays I'm a big listener of bluegrass/newgrass, folk, and jazz, but I'm still working these genres into my own brand of sound. I'd like to get a prog rock band going, I met a fantastic bassist, but he only wants to do George Clinton-style funk right now. So I may do a little moonlighting for a funk band soon just for something to do. I want my next move to be neo-classical stuff... but I would really need a classical/spanish nylon string guitar for that endeavor... but there I go again, wanting another guitar. *Edit: I missed your addition of other questions... so... I smashed one guitar because the bridge was pulling up and bringing the top of the guitar with it. Basically, the wood was warping and I didn't consider it able to be repaired. Rather than waiting until the bridge exploded in my face due to all of the string pressure, I just went ahead and smashed it in a blaze of glory. I don't play the violin. I bought an old one dirt cheap with the intention of restoring it some day. I do play the mandolin, however, and since both the mandolin and violin are tuned identically, I figure I could make the transition fairly easily once I figure out the whole "bow" thing. IP: Logged |
