GypseeWind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Firsty a re-post of the replies I made concerning my "red" picture and collage on the picture thread, followed by my replies to your post above!
**********************
Aya_and_baby.....
quote:
It is an interesting looking picture, I just found it a shame it wasn't clear, that's why the sad face
Ooooh! So you wanted to see my unshaven face?LOL!
Well since then I have played with it to see what I could pull from the dark out of focus
original.
Those are the ones in the beginning of the top and second row.
Next was trying to get contrast, then brightening, the gray scaled and re-colorizing with something more natural than the red.

GypseeWind.....

quote:
I think the effect is really cool, in fact, I'm trying to figure out how to take one myself. Did you have no lights on in the room, Lexx? Or are you far away from a light?
I was in a dark hall lit only by a ceramic dim red bulb.
quote:
You can do this stuff in photobucket, but, I like it better when it turns out that way on its own.
Well, I had to adjust contrast and brightness to pull anything out of the out of focus dark original as seen at the beginning of row 1 & 2.
Since then I played with the original to see what I could pull out of it by simply adjusting brightness, darkness, contrast, and color or not.
So I made this collage of my efforts.

MyVirgoMask.....

quote:
I think it's an awesome pic,LEXX <3

Dark, yes....literally lol. But that gives it all kinds of depth. Plus it shows off your awesome bone structure, as well as being haunting too. Me like:-D

It surprised me as it was the first image to appear when I was adjusting contrast and brightness from the original picture trying to see anything.
Yes, my Native American cheekbones show in the dark red picture best.
My husband also really likes the dark red one and said the same thing you did about it!
"Haunting".

***************************
Now to reply to you reply above!
quote:
LMAO!! ahahahaha, I don't know why that tickles me so much, I am wiping my eyes right now.
Hee hee!
Glad to give you the snarfimg giggles!
quote:
I saw MONA in person, in the 80's. I was very surprised at the size. I thought it would be HUGE, but it isn't. The frame moulding is huge, but the painting itself is not as big as I thought. I cried. I'm such a baby!! But, they had her in a plastic cube, I mean, you could not get anywhere even close!! Plus there were scads of people in line, pushing and shoving. I would of liked to be alone and just stared at it for hours.
I love her picture too! In fact I have a few on the wall behind my computer!
quote:
I am intrigued by the thoughts that some have regarding The Mona as a self portrait, what do you think of that, Lexx?
I will not say how, but I "know" it is a self portrait! :-)
Hee hee!
quote:
Btw, I love your collage,
Thank you!
quote:
I've been looking at it for a couple days now, since you put it in the pic thread, the very last shot looks like someone famous, but I can't put my finger on it. These things have to marinate in my brain for awhile, and then, I'll wake myself up in the middle of the night, going "AHA!" Cause, I am such a dork that way.
Someone famous?

When you remember...PLEASE tell me!
REMEMBER, THESE PICTURES ARE ALL OF ME, MYSELF, AND I!
NO DOCTORING, ONLY BRIGHTNESS/DARKNESS/CONTRAST/COLOR adjusted.
No tweaking just that.
These however 3 are tweaked!
Made my face thinner, then longer, then shorter. And yes, I grow facial hair!

I will tell you when I think of it. It took me about 3 days to figure out who I thought one of Xodian's pictures looked like. But, it's the last one...something about the eyes, and the hair. Is that your hair, I mean, it's not a wig right??

I'll keep thinking...

Well, personally, I think the facial hair suits you. I mean, it looks like it grows so naturally RIGHT, you know? Like some men that I know grow patches thinner in spots and such... but yours appears to be very uniform. I don't think I would shave it if it were me, but then again, I am lazy and used living in Italy for a year as an excuse not to shave my arm pits.

I'de imagine it must be difficult for you, I mean a difficult decision whether or not to let it natural or conform to society!!

But, still...it suits you.

Yes it is my real hair on head (which is almost 4 feet long)Here is a picture...(and I am some 60 pounds thinner now.)

and the beard and mustache are kind of scraggly, and lighter reddish blond, but I dyed that for the picture before shaving.
When I went out that way, some people freaked or got grossed out, but others did not seem to mind at all, and some actually seemed to be attracted by it. Weird!
However with my short stature and very large bosum, it really confuses people, and very long hair too boot!
I was born externally male/internally female.
They surgically "fixed" me, and forced being female upon me.
I am legally considered female and did give birth to a full term baby.
My body, as you can see, still tries to be how I was meant to be, a person of ambigender.
I wish society could understand that intersex conditions of varying degrees are more common than they realize. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersexuality

Lexx, I think you look a little like Eric Stoltz

and a little like Tilda Swinton

My goodness, the universe has dealt you a challenging hand, being intersex. I only hope people can be more accepting as time goes on, and it really pains me to think of any hurt that's been done to you because you don't fit their notions of what a human being "should" be like. But the word I think of when I think of you Lexx is "strong". It's not always easy being strong, especially when you have so many health issues. But you are. And probably out of everybody on here I tend to think about you the most when I am daydreaming. Daydreaming about definitions, boundaries, labels and such. It sure is good to know you Lexx. You are brave, and that is what I admire most about people.

It pains me too Wheels

And, Lexx, you ARE strong! Alot of people would never have the courage to discuss things of this nature, but, the way I feel is that if people are to learn, and to evolve with their thinking, then somebody has to be willing to step forward and tell their story...Blessings to you for that!!

And, man, that is some gorgeous hair you got there. Mine gets to about the middle of my back and starts to break off. I don't use a blowdryer, I don't wash it every day, I never use a brush (too curly) yet still, it breaks. Yours is lovely.

Oh my! Such beautiful compliments!
I am sincerely and deeply touched to say the least.
I know you and I rarely converse, but we do have a real connection I feel, as I think of you quite often too and it makes me smile inside.
I hope that made sense.
Funny thing about coming out here at LL...is that it was spurred on by my finally refusing to worry about a few people here who had threatened to reveal my secret. I finally stopped freaking and figured what the heck, just come out and see what happens.
So am I brave or was it just a case of being tired of hiding?

It is interesting because in my offline world I have been told the same thing!
And.....I identified in a weird way with her role in Constantine, and his in Prophecy.
Loved those movies!

Like I told Wheels,
was it being brave or simply tired of hiding that aspect of my being?
It has helped folks though, because since I came out, so many folks here and elsewhere have messaged me in private to tell me of their various "secrets", and to try and understand gender diversities more.
I do not feel alone in being "different" any longer!
It is a truly liberating feeling!
As to my hair, it is a wee bit shorter now and grayer. It goes through cycles of breaking or slow growth, with loss of a 1/2 to an entire foot in length,
then later the full length returns again!
I just wash mine and let air dry and cut a path to see through.

Ooh, I loved Tilda in 'Constantine', that was the first thing I thought of too, when Wheels mentioned it, but I didn't think you would of wanted to see that movie, because you mentioned disliking the concept of angels. Great movie, though, and great role!

So, you were born red headed then? I think red heads go gray in a lovely way, the "salt and pepper" so to speak, blends nicely. The few gray hairs that have popped up in my head (thank you, children) were insanely obvious, they fairly glowed irridesent! uggg.

Anyway, I was looking at your hair clip. I have trouble finding them that will hold all of my hair. I break the plastic ones on a pretty consistant basis. It's hard to find good hair barrettes these days.

I loved that movie and Prophecy 1,2,3, because they depicted angels more in a way that I can relate too, instead of the happy happy joy joy trust us blue eyed white or pastel or bright winged golden blondies.
And angels are supposed to be androgynes or non gendered which is how they were depicted in those movies!
quote:
So, you were born red headed then?
Yes indeed! Freckles and no tanning, plus green gold eyes.

Well, mine is like beginning to "fade" out kinda.

I think I got that one 5 years ago. It is a pewter and steel butterfly.
A tip for using the easily broken plastic ones.....first tie your hair up with an elastic band and then use the plastic clip for only decorative purposes instead of control or support.

OHHH, I love The Prophecy movies as well!!

I have a "thing" for Christopher Walken, though. They were awesome. I like all kinds of angel movies. I really liked 'City of Angels' too, it was very bittersweet.

Have you ever seen Christopher Walken in the film, 'Communion'?
Holy Cow, did that scare the beejesus out of me!!
Typically, I am not frightened at scary movies at all.
But, that one did it! I just think he is such a master actor.

I read all of the books Whitly Strieber wrote. I somehow identified with the theme he discusses about being chosen at a very young age, and "followed" all your life.

It scares me alot, but maybe because I think/believe that it's real?

*I do use bands as well, in my hair. I've had it up, and the band just goes, "Boing!" and all my hair falls in my face. It's super thick. I can't tell if you have that problem or not, but I can see you have the waves, me too. A blessing or a curse? Haven't figured that out yet!

I absolutely adore Christopher Walken!
I think I have seen all his movies.
Oh, and Alan Rickman as The Metatron in Dogma! Sexy! I love that movie too! Even biblically it was said:
quote:
Hebrews 13:2 KJV "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
The angels I detest are the golden bright ones, the ones who are not ever physical, the ones who deceived people down through time. The ones who could take human form are an entirely different type.
I like some of Strieber's theories/stories too. I had some strange child hood experiences no one can explain. Like the night when I was 4 and saw the "lightning bug people". I remember climbing out my bedroom window and following the little beings whose bodies appeared naked and flashed like dim and pale blue/green. They remind me of what folks now call the greys.
I do not remember anything beyond that, except for the way I was found, 2 1/2 miles away (down a very dangerous main highway)the next morning in my little white nightie and very clean bare feet, clean and dry and not a scratch on me....found sleeping on the steps of a one pump Texico gas station and country store. A few months later I encountered big bluish glass rocks and after handling them I got a bad sunburn and got sick and my hair fell out. Guys in a white van and bio-hazard suits examined me and I was put under quarantine, my family vacated for a time from our house. Military looking guys came on and off for 4 more years and took photos of me, and I had many more weird medical tests and x-rays on a regular schedule. I remember the searchlights and the planes and helicopters that came at night and someone removed the twisted metal and big (some over a foot big)bluish black glass rocks I had handled. Seems to me that "something" had crashed.
Some strange secret going ons in my childhood it seems. Those are only two strange encounters. Later throughout my life to date, odd things and people have come and gone.
As for angel movies, Angels in America was interesting, as was Michael. And ones where they are more fairy acting, as like in Heaven Can Wait, instead of biblical .

To the hair issue...
Mine used to be ultra thick but is thinning something terrible now, most likely due to age related male baldness genes.
It is not showing too badly yet.
I like my waves. I also braid it which gives it more waves when I want them.
