My daughter came home with straight A's yesterday. I've already bragged on myspace and FB, so, I have to brag here.
I was really surprised. She hardly EVER asks for homework help, and I never see her doing any. When I ask her she says, "I finished in in class/lunch/bus."

So, I ordered her a pizza of her very own. She complains about everyone's choice of toppings. I gave her five bucks, since that was all I had on me. AND, I did tell her, since Uncle Sam was kind, I would take her shopping for some new clothes. Here's the little lady....

I hope that isn't huge.
Anyway, she's a pistol.
Leo sun/ Sco Asc/ and Pisces Moon.
whew, that is a handful of attitude, let me tell you.
She reminds me of me when I was little. We clash like the Titans, but I totally adore the little muffin.

Wow, that is close, Wink! And you have a Scorpio son, SO DO I! pretty cool.

SOOOO, I was browsing around for pics of Michael Hutchence, cuz, yeah, I'm obsessed that way, and, I come upon a story about a supposed psychic lady, who had written a book. She claims that she talks to Michael AND Jim Morrison. Not only them, but their dead girlfriends, Paula Yates, and Pamela Courson. WOW. She says they "tell all" about their mysterious deaths, and what their relationships were REALLY like with band members and women.
Ya know, I won't buy this book, but darn it, I just want to read it!!!
I have the link to the story saved in myspace if anyone is interested. But, I did come across the most beautiful photo. So, in honor of Hutch, who would of been 50 last friday.....

Okay Gypsee.. you probably addressed this earlier in your thread, but I'll admit... I'm too damn lazy to read it all lol.

sooo.... where do you come up with your handle? And... why "A river runs through.."

you mentioned that you have used Gypsee in your previous handles, so thought I'd get nosey lol.

Too lazy to read me, NOOOOO! J/K, I know how it is.

I used to pick one persons massive thread and then take like three days to read it. lol..

Ummm, hmmm, I never adressed the gypsy thing, I don't think. (?)
I guess I think I look like a gypsy, I've been told that since I was a kid.
I believe I've BEEN a gypsy, it's sort of a trait that I've always carried with me. I love to watch movies set in Romania, and look at pictures of it, I feel as though I've been there.

When I had my ten year class reunion, they handed out all these silly awards based on information that you gave in a survey thingy that they sent in the mail.
Anyway, things like, Most Bald. Biggest Breeder. Silly things like that.
I was horrified to have gotten, "Can't Stay Put." I had 18 adresses in ten years.

I'm a little better now. My last place I stayed at for nearly 5 years, a biggie for me!

So thats where I got the gypsy part. My favorite handle was GypsySpirit 27, I had that for a long time, and someone hacked me and stole my name to spam porn. It was awful! AOL banned me, and I got hundreds of hate e-mails. So I had to change it.

I added the wind part a few years ago. Not sure why, but it makes sense I guess, since I have an Air Moon.
Also, I was listening to that Bob Segar song, 'You'll Accompany Me', I always loved that song. And in the first line he says,,"A gypsy wind is blowin warm tonight, the sky is starlit and the time is right."
It really stuck with me, so I guess I interalized that.
When I went to make a username for my other stuff, gypsy wind was taken, so I had to make it gypSEE, which, now I like better, cause I'm older and I SEE things much clearer now.

As far as the 'River Runs Through It', well I am a huge Brad Pitt fan, and also, at the time I signed up for this site, I had just moved into this home, which is one block from The Great Miami river, so, in essence, a river runs right through the city of Dayton, and I was kind of fascinated by that.

Whew, did I cover it? I'm hypered up, I just got done watching 'Jennifer's Body', I keep waiting for my BFF to crash through my bedroom window and bite me or something. tee hee. We are kinda snowed in, not too much entertainment.
HOPEFULLY, I can get out tomorrow, as I tend to get cabin fever and very cranky in this kinda weather.

That was awesome! I love seeing how people came up with their handles. I think most people tend to put a lot of thought into them. When you spend a lot of time at a place such as this.. you tend to get personal with others. So it's kinda cool to get to know the person on the other side of the handle. And gypsee's are very mysterious. At least that's how they are usually portrayed in movies and such...very cool!

For my username.. I first came up with it back in 1997 when I got my first computer. My first computer that I owned anyway. I joined AOL at the time... dial up lol. I sat there for so long trying to choose a username that AOL would accept. I really don't know what popped into my head at the time to make me try winkaway. I was married at the time, so I wasn't trying to be permiscuous <did i spell/use that word right? lol> But I'm the kind of person who likes to keep the same usernames and passwords because my memory SUCKS! LOL.. and so my usernames on just about anything...anywhere is winkaway. Even my email handle for yahoo...yeah, so now you have that lol.

and it's coming up on midnight in utah, so I'm rambling cause I'm tired, so off to bed zzzZZZzzz.....nighty night

I love, love, love your username, it's one of my favorites here.

I am like you too, always wondering about the names, how much thought goes into them, etc...

I'm always surprised when someone puts up a username with a sign, and they aren't even that sign! LOL! I'm thinking, "hey!!! I thought you were a (blank) and you aren't!!" You know, cause some people put their SO's sun sign or maybe they use their Moon or asc sign. CONFUSION!!

Speaking of that, you said you keep the same username. Guys usually do this too, and the same password. They are funny that way.
I decided to change it on certain sites, cause I wanted to be more anonymous, you know?
So on youtube, my user name is "scottsmyscorp" which was for Scott Weiland in Stone Temple Pilots, he is a Scorp, and youtube is mostly a musical place, so I thought that fit.
Anyway, lol! You know how if you comment on a video, you get a notification if someone comments after you?

Well, I don't know why, but people think I'm a man, and my name is Scott!
I find this totally amusing, because WOW do people treat you different if they think you are a man!!!!

I'll get a mail like this:

"Scott, dude, whatever, you are such a f****ng Pr**K! Get a life, you don't know anything about music, for your information, blah, blah, blah..."

I just crack up!!!

I saw your FB question too.
Jennifer's body was pretty stupid.
I mean, I rented it for a dollar at my pharmacy, and it's worth seeing for that.
But, basically a teen cliche' movie if there ever was one.
Some parts were ok.

I haven't seen a good scary movie in a loooooong time.
Have a great night!!! xox

but if you're looking for a good scary movie... a redbox rental, hence the dollar movie thing.
I rented Drag Me To Hell and LOVED it! I'm a sucker for a good horror movie..tee hee..

Drag me to hell, hmmm, wait, I'm wondering if I did see that one? Gosh, they sort of blend together don't they?
I did see the Orphan, not bad. A little reminicent of The Ring, i.e. boy did we adopt a doozy!!

I will ask my daughter if we saw Drag, and if not, I will rent it, WinkAway, Don't work to hard!!

SNOW DAY ~ THE SEQUEL.

Umm, yeah, what to do with bored children intent on messing up the house and having me break up their petty arguements. aaahhhh. Please Mother Nature, have pity on your fellow females. Please.

LOL.. I'm with you on the children messing up the house thing. And haven't had the petty fights since my daughter moved away <sniff sniff>.
My son is known for dragging about half of his many toys out in the living room..playing with some of them for about 10 minutes, then hopping on the computer...ugg! Curses to his ADHD!! I just tell him "you know you'll be cleaning that up"...followed by his "i know" lol. gotta luv em :-)

Drag me to hell was good, but I've seen better... I was weaned on horror movies. My mom used to take my sister and I to see horror movies when we were little... I saw Texas chainsaw massacre at the drive in when it first came out...

HAHAHAHA! Gotcha beat, my Grandma decided she needed a night out, so she couldnt leave us with our alcholic grandpa, that would end badly.

So, instead she gets the bright idea to send us to the drive in with my heroin addicted Aunt and Uncle whom lived with us....(this sounds like a bad story, but there was alot of love there) anyway, after some debate the aunt and uncle decided we should see the EXORCIST, yeah, Im that old..anyway, I blame my life long addiction to needing another human to sleep with me on this movie. I wasn't really scared, I don't get that freaked, but my sibs and cousins were! (I was oldest, we all lived together) SOOOO, for the next however many years, my twin bed was full of trembling, shaking, little boys, who fart and drool in their sleep. Also kick and steal covers.

Fast Forward, no change.

My son saw 'Darkness Falls' a few years ago, and he's convinced that the 'Toothfairy on Crack' (thats what he calls the evil lady) is going to get him if he sleeps alone. *sigh* I guess when he marries, my son shall sleep in between us! LOL!
How do you like the new FB? 3 of my friends aren't coming back. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but didnt they JUST restructure, what is UP? I mean who is running this show? I signed the ridiculously large petition to change it back, but the last one had no affect. OH WELL. Your kids have off tomorrow too?

Yeah, so after snow days, they decided friday was teachers got somthing better planned day. Then Monday is a holiday. 4 days straight with the little buggers. I can't get out from underneath them to even buy them something for Valentines.

The child that makes the mess, and then goes on the computer, is he the Scorpio? OH, I see how hard you would find it to be mad at such a cutie face!! His grin would probably do me in, and I would pick up the toys myself.

Oh, wait, I do that for my Scorp, never mind. LOL!

Oh you would be such a kick to hang with!
Okay the horror movie that had me checking under my bed as a kid was... I think it was Amityville Horror (see, I'm not a young'un either). And the ghost like figure with red eyes.
But I remember when I was a kid if it was late at night and the window was open I'd run to the window with my eyes looking away and I'd close the curtains lol. Especially if I was alone in the room...in the dark.

And crazy as it sounds...
My sister and I shared a room until I was around 9 or 10. So one night we were laying in bed.. I think she was asleep. I was just laying there and to this day I swore I saw ghost like figures of baby booties and bows floating across the room starting in the closet, floating over both of our beds and out the wall. And in the closet was a shadowy figure of a skeleton. I called to my sister and I was asking if she saw it and she looked at me like I was nuts and told me to go to sleep lol.
And another night we were all outside in the back yard having a BBQ. Even as a kid I had my head in the stars. So I was looking at the full moon and to this day I swear I saw a black silhouette of a cartoon like lion walking on his hind legs wearing a tux carrying a cup and saucer across the moon...lol. I SWEAR I saw it...
But like my mom said it was probably my child like imagination. Now if I continued "seeing things" as I got older I may have cause to worry lol...which I dont...

And as for little one's seeing scarey movies... my son HATES them. He has walked in the room while I was watching Bride of Chucky once...just those brief two seconds or so scared the crap out of him.
And he saw the cover of the video for the Grudge and he hated that image. He would see an ad for it in the stores and he'd let out a little whimper...heavy on the WHIMP lol.

And he's actually a Saggy btw. And yes, he is a cutie.. hard to resist those big brown eyes too..

heh heh;

The Grudge. Ok, we watched that in my room. My oldest daughter was a teenager, can't quite remember her age.

so, her Cappy dad, (Cappies= very big on the practical jokes they are) went and got one of my younger daughters BLACK haired barbie dolls...

so. off went daughter to bed. He sneaks in there, and through the door crack, he puts JUST THE BLACK HAIR IN , so the body is on the outside of the door, but the hair is just sort of hanging on the inside of the door. He then waits. Caps are very patient.

A few hours later, she gets up, to go to bathroom, whatever, I dont know.
Scenario:

A loud scream echos shattering glass and raising the dead.
A father grins evilly, and commences to fits of laughter.
A Mother comes running out of her room, hair on end, wondering where the fire is.

A Mother and a daughter do not speak to evil father for at least 48 hours.
Father brings home chocolates and all is forgiven.

He has also been known to low crawl up steps, across rooms, and grab someone by their dangling ankle while they are engrossed in a horror flick. I have seen him take a good 45 minutes to do this crawl to avoid the creaking steps, which he knows by heart.

He will have large therapy bills to pay for one day.

ps. You didnt imagine those things, you saw them. I believe you. I've seen alot of stuff too, we are normal, right? err, right?

OMG, just wanted to share that my dad (a Cappie) had the same sence of humor and used to scare the living daylights out of me as a kid. I can't tell you how much I hated that.

Movie traditions.

On Christmas we always watch 'Elf', which is a ridiculous movie that never fails to amuse me anyway. Then my daughter and I watch the original 'A Christmas Carol' after we come back from Midnight Mass.

On Halloween, my son and I watch as many of the HalloweenS as we can possibly sit through. Strangely, we both have a particular liking to Halloween 3(or is it 4?) 'Season of The Witch'. What is strange about that is Michael Myers never appears in the whole movie. John Carpenter owns the rights to the Michael character, and someone else made this movie, therefore they couldn't use Michael, but there it is, in the series anyway.

On GroundHog day, well, we watch 'Groundhog Day' I adore Bill Murray...heh heh, funny movie.

NOW, today, is Fat Tuesday, and you may be wondering (or not, since I AM talking to myself here) what does one watch on Fat Tuesday??? Well, one watches 'Candyman 2' it is set in New Orleans during Mardi Gras! Oh, it's the best of the Candymans for sure. So, that's what we're gonna do.
And, I just took a shower, and put on new jammies. They are 'Miami Ink' jammies. My whole entire body looks like a tattoo.

Guess there is nothing to be done about this "winter thing," it seems intent on having it's way!!

My daughter went to the OB today, she's dialated 1 cm!!! Gosh, I am not ready to go in that room and hear my baby scream in pain!!!!

Hey Gypsee, you have mail.

And that's awesome about your daughter!!
How exciting!!
When is she due? Boy or Girl?

And we used to do the movie tradition thing too when I was a kid.

For Halloween we used to watch The Hobbit..cartoon version without fail. And we would sit on the floor sifting thru our candy, eating a big bowl of popcorn while my mom made us hot chocolate and homemade donuts...ahhh memories

And of course Christmas isn't Christmas without watching A Christmas Story

I have mail? Is it in myspace, FB, or gmail???

I forgot about homemade donuts, in the FryDaddy, love those!!!

My daughter isn't due until March 10th. Everyone who looks at her says she will go early. I was two weeks LATE with her. She would of been a Valentines Day Aqua if she had been born on time, instead she's a Pisces. I am happy.
I guess she said the docs don't let you go past your duedate anymore, they induce, like ON your due date or a day or two after, now.
She's having a boy, His name is Hunter Thomas Frost, and I'm scared to death!! Not about the Grandma thing, I love babies, just, you know, anxious about the delivery. The women on my side end up having c-sections, every generation that I am aware of. But, my daughter is built different, she has wider set apart hips, so I'm hoping she has a regular birth, much easier to recover from. *fingers crossed*
