Aww, Italian olive skinned granny with bright blonde moustache! I love that!

Was it the one who brought you up?

Yes, that was her. An Aries lady brought me up. Can you imagine the arguments between her and me? Especially when I became a teenager!!! She drug me up the stairs by my hair once. lol. Spit and vinegar, all 4ft 9 inches of her. !

She had a son born on her birthday, he was the apple of her eye.
He died of AIDS from his herion addiction when he was 45.

My Gran's sister, a Saggie lady (still living!) had a Saggie son, and he died of a heroin overdose.

Isn't that the strangest coincidence???
They believed our family was cursed.
Italians are very superstitious.

I was scared that I'de have a son, and he'd be a Sag, and I would outlive him, but nope, he's a Scorpio.
Hopefully, the curse is broken!

I used to be superstitious when I was younger.
Then I moved abroad and discovered that what was a bad omen in the country I was born in, is actually a good omen in the country I moved to.

So... You, being a witch, probably heard it all about black cats crossing the road in front of you, mirrors being broken to give you 7 years of bad luck and bumping into a woman with an empty bucket.

I came across a quote a few years back:

"The worst ever evil which can occur in your life is when the black cat smashes your mirror with an empty bucket."

That image cured me right away.

LOL, never heard the bucket one, but about, umm going on 4 years ago, I was driving to work on NEW YEARS DAY, and totally not paying attention, going too fast on a twisty riverside road, when a black cat darted out in front of my car, and I ran it over.
I got out to check, and sure enough, the poor guy was a goner. I felt so baaaaaad!
I moved him over to the side of the road, but that's all I could do because I had to get to work.

I've also broken a mirror on NEW YEARS DAY, both experiences did actually portend very bad years.
So, I guess I'm a believer in some ways.

Walking under a ladder is just dumb. Never could figure out why anyone would purposely do that.!

Now I avoid New Years Eve, and day, not just for the above reasons, but I just detest that particular holiday.
I guess working in bars will do that to you.
New Years is the worst night to work.
Now I'm off to look at the calendar and make sure I'm not working that night this year!
Cross your fingers and toes.

In Scotland, black cat crossing your way is a GOOD luck sign.

Scorp17, you are spot on. Scotland is one of the most (if not the most) beautiful places in Europe.

That's absolutely beautiful! I've always wanted to go to Scotland.

It's very pretty. Hauntingly gorgeous. But seems lonely. Maybe it's just the photos in the country parts.
I need lots of lights and city stuff, else I get reverse claustrophobia. I think I made that up, not sure it's an actual disorder.

*Confessions of a road weary SAG, about to leave for work....

I've seen every poseur pose, in every conceivable way.
The Lonely Guy...
Playing Emo songs on the jukebox, staring off into the distance, pining for his lost love..

The Desperate Girl..
Sits with girlfriends, she doesn't want to be alone.. Checks her cell every two minutes, even though it hasn't gone off, and he probably isn't going to call..
We should fix her up with The Lonely Guy.. Meh, let them work that out on their own.

The Frustrated OverWorked, UnderPaid, Married Man....
Comes in under the guise of having a few to unwind. Ends up getting into heated debates about the economy and how Mexicans have taken all the jobs, and if you voted for Obama you should have your head examined. Then once everyone has stopped arguing with him, he slinks away muttering...

The Group of Young Guys...
Travel in packs, dress alike, all named; Shawn, Jason, Brian, Jeremy, etc..
Think drinking is a competition, and whoever can't is a wus. They talk louder and louder, are completely chauvenistic, and usually end up puking their Jagermeister in the parking lot and leaving at least one vehicle behind...

OK, those are the normal people.
Don't have time to get into the sub-groups, but that's where it gets really interesting.

Stay Tuned to your local channel for updates... lol, I think they are getting to me.

Well, after last weeks hissy fit, I've gotten put on the day shift.
Thank You Lord.
Now I'll be back with the retired guys and the unemployed, yet NORMAL (a relative term, I know) daytime drinkers.
What a relief!!

Remember that movie, 'Waiting To Exhale'?
I'm still holding my breath, hoping to get to exhale sometime soon.

Well, so it would seem that my place of employment is on it's way to closing.
I say 'so it would SEEM' cause nothing is ever the way it seems, at least in my life.

Anyway, my hours were cut down to three days this week, which I say is the beginning of the end, because when the regulars drive by and see the boss mans truck there, they don't stop.
He's sort of an.. A-hole, stick in the mud.
Not sort of, he really is.

Anyway, I'm thinking of something mindless... a nice little job in a video store or something.. where I can bring the movies home and watch them all for free, as I hole up in anticipation for winter.
I usually get alot of ideas for writing from films, but when I'm bartending I use up all my personality at work, and I come home a pile of Mom Mush that doesn't want to talk or even think.

A video store is sounding good... hmm...

Hey Gyps
Video store definately! I worked in a video store for a while and it was like the best few months of my life. Then the place went bankrupt. It had nothing to do with me, I swear!

Thanks Tink;
Upon researching this, I've discovered that with Tivo and RedBox rentals, video stores are going out of business all over the place, they are becoming obsolete! (See you didn't jinx the place, it was doomed) so last night, I dreamt of meself as a grocery cashier!! I know, I know, I have such lofty goals! In the dream, I actually quite liked it. I just scanned and scanned all day, while my mind was elsewhere dreaming. It was good! I think that's where I'm to go next.

And I've been dreaming SOOOOO much lately.
This is from my dreams...

Tumbling from my sleep
Tangled in my sheets

Small Scorpions slip silently
from my hair
They fall down my neck
and fly off my back
into oblivion

I hear the sounds a broom makes
when someone is sweeping

I cannot place the day
or the hour
Nor can I account for much
misused time
but suddenly I recall
it's still summer, and in that
I find peace

As I write I realize
it was just a dream
The Falling, The Scorpions
and the words
of a wise
orange and black
cat.
