That song is about trust, no?What is it that make you run from neediness? I was even nervous about saying I worry when you don't check in, cos I kind of sensed you wouldn't like it. I hate neediness too, that's maybe why I knew you wouldn't like it, because I wouldn't either! Is there an astrological reason? Or do you think it's 'nuture'? Bizarrely my best friend can't stand her own company and used to be very needy. I think we are very good for each other, we knock the extremes off. We weren't such good friends when we were younger, because we were so different. Oh, and I don't like Morrissey - too maudlin for me.

Well, in truth I just like the idea of the chorus. I am ok by myself. Personally, I don't mind people at all, and I like being around people quite often. Just don't like that neediness some creatures have.Congrats on getting me to look up "maudlin." Had no idea it meant that. I don't read him as maudlin actually. I read his character as maudlin, but I see him as being more dry than that in actuality. I think it's just a big show. It may have grown from something in his life, but now I think it's just keeping up appearances. What makes me run from neediness? I don't respect it. I'm not generally the type to be macho, or tell a person to, "Man-up," but that is kind of the way I feel about it. Have some self-respect. If someone or something actually needs me, that's ok. I just don't want to be reminded all the time. I'd prefer people have some faith that I'll return to fulfill their need without them feeling like they have to be needy/manipulative about it. I guess it's the insecurity turn off. Is there an astrological reason? Could be. I have three planets in Sagittarius. That's a social, but not needy sign. IP: Logged |

Thinking about it, I think subtlety is also a factor. I admire the subtle. Neediness is more overt. A needy person shows their hand too easily. I'd rather have the mystery.IP: Logged |

I like Keane, but I'm not sure I would've thought to see them. I don't go to too many concerts. It's kind of cool to look at my part of the world through a foreigner's eyes.IP: Logged |

Yeah - not quite the right word - I used it instead of 'depressing' cos I like it as a word.Another favourite is 'obviate'. I use that in work and it foxes people! I used 'assuage' on my ex-husband the other day, and he looked at me like I was speaking Russian. I love good words.

LOL (I'm glad it was the bit about needy people. I don't see you as a needy person.)The weekend's only just begun, and already LL seems to be a ghost town. Too bad. My Pandora station's played two Keane songs since you mentioned them. They're fun, and a little challenging to sing along with. IP: Logged |

I might just be the opposite of needy - if I feel I need something/somebody I punish myself by denying myself whatever it is. Some weird control thing I think.I think maybe everyone is a little weary of LLC2 from yesterday. It wasn't nice, but I guess you long-termers are used to it? I like Keane, not more than Snowpatrol of course! Looking at those locations and looking at how well the front-man looks (he's had some problems) I want to be there RIGHT NOW. I am looking at apartments in SF for next year, and need your advice. Will send you the link of one I have found over weekend. Oh - and after criticizing you - my brother and his family arrive tomorrow, and then I am off to stay with friends for a week. Just on case you are worrying IP: Logged |

Things actually have been much more contentious here in the past.I only briefly looked at the pictures on Keane's site. You sent that when I was at lunch. I might have to go back to see him. I'm guessing his problems were weight-related? Or was it something else? Those Pisces can get involved with drugs sometimes. They make good singers, though. I'm no expert on the city, but I can probably find someone to help if I can't manage the task myself. (Edit: ) How long will you be here? I'm envious of all the time you get to take off. Enjoy it! I think it was drugs, but he also looks a lot thinner now.Intention is to be in SF for 5 days, before hopping off to Colorado. I have found an appt that looks good (for me, daughter and parents) but not sure whether it is too 'out of it'? Might hire a car, what's it like to drive around? http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/VacationRentalReview-g60713-d1306235-or3-Ocean_View_Terrace-San_Francisco_California.html#REVIEWS IP: Logged |

Yay! I can help. From the view I can verify that you'll be in the city. You won't be on the outskirts or anything. What a beautiful place, too. Looks nicely appointed. I should come sleep on your floor or sofa while you're here. It's similar to any big city driving with the addition of some intimidating hills. It's a nightmare for anyone new at driving their manual transmission car. Fortunately, I haven't seen any manual transmission rentals in forever. Automatic transmission is pretty standard in rentals. San Francisco does have quite a bit of one-way streets and limitations on left turns, which can also be a hassle. Perhaps a car with a navigation system would help (if the navigation system isn't too difficult to be practical; some of them require a bit of inputting work in order to get where you're going). We could go to Fiddler's Green. Irish theme, yes, but it's a Fisherman's Wharf favorite. And now...having said that, I'll probably hate it. I haven't been there in years. Looks like it's popular on Yelp. IP: Logged |

I'm watching this rerun of Saturday Night Live with Michael Buble, and it's very clear he has no earpiece while he's singing. I like that. That's the way it should be. IP: Logged |

Oooohh...looks good!Sorry I haven't been here today. Month end is crazy at work, and I've got drama with my improv group again. I think I'm too exhausted to deal with the drama in improv. IP: Logged |

I went back, and looked at my last message to my improv troupe. I feel guilty for the tone, but then I reread it, and I'm fine with it.One woman, L, whom I really like (a Sag whose Sun is on my Mercury), keeps causing these crises after the last three shows we've done. She's done improv for 20 years or so, and she wants to teach. She was going to go into business with our improv teacher, V, and they were going to start a theater company. The thing is that V, a Capricorn, was making all the executive decisions, and not really partnering with L. L pulled out of doing the business about a month ago, but I think she is still trying to negotiate something, and our sub-group, keeps being brought in as a pawn. L keeps arranging these meetings, and hoping that what our group says will accomplish L's agenda. The thing is, no one really knows what we're supposed to be talking about, or what "our" agenda is. I said next to nothing last meeting, and people acted upset that I was quiet. I have no idea what I was supposed to say. Now V's overreacting a bit. Her post asking for the meeting was dictatorial in tone, which isn't really normal for her. It was annoying, but I'm trying to overlook it, because I have a sense for what's behind it. IP: Logged |

AG,You've already mentioned that the end of the month is busy at work. So I thought about,I rememberd. I can't help you with the improv group problem. Just do what you think is right and act so. I never said this but now I'm going to. When I read some of your posts, your questioning yourself. i sense some insecurity in it about yourself and things. I think it's your virgo moon, who causes this. I know other virgo mooners who can act the same way. And there's really no need to be. I need the critical virgo I love\hate them. I shout to them and can also be nice. In my holiday group were three leo's. One leo man was telling us he wants to be a famous painter. And he asked us what he could do to become famous. So the leo's were all discussing this in the proud leo nice arrogant way. So I said: I don't want to be famous, I'm gonna be an animal tamer in the cirsus with leo's. LOL They didn't understood my astrological joke. IP: Logged |
