Working on learning how to do vector art. This is my mom's palette. It would be cool to do some art for her for Christmas.

Here it is after playing with it in my photoshop Elements software:

Just hatched a design plan that worked brilliantly. Fireworks can make polygons with the number of sides I choose, so I realized I could make a small one inside a big one, and make the flower petals go point to point. I went with a nine-sided polygon.

EDIT: Now it's a little later, and this flower's come a long way. I copied it, and rotated the copy, thereby doubling the petals, and then I re-did the color on all the petals. This is my kind of art. Requires logic.

I'll want my mom's to be more busy than this, but I'm pleased with my progress.

Just put it as the background for my Blackberry. Had to have it navigate to the large version, and then save it in order for it to keep it's fidelity. The small version was too distorted on it's little screen.

AG, you're really enjoying the art thing. It's also nice to make your own christmas cards.

I was thinking about the horoscope astrology. Are we all a little bith people with multiple personalities. For example in the bedroom/love making comes the mars sign out, in the work place the saturn sign and in your dailylife the sun sign. As we are turning different colours during a day. And as I know the horoscope of a person. Can I say oh I can see that sign colouring now, I like it...

Do you also look at it that way? Well it's a bith analistic, buth you can look at it that way sometimes.

Yeah, I do enjoy art.

I've actually done a lot with color and astrology:

This is from a site: http://www.colorstrology.com/

I figured out the date for all of my planets. That's how I found the additional colors.

This is another color experiment I did. I think I just used whatever colors I wanted to represent different things.

Masculine/Feminine Sign Over Houses

Quality Colors Signs Over Houses

This one's quite complex. I assigned the qualities textures.

Evanski, you make me want to get to work on that heart pic again. I kinda think the heart shouldn't have the black stripes raked over it. I should separate the layers, and try again.

Caroline, I'm not sure if I am going to do anything special for Halloween. Most years I don't. Maybe something good will come up.

Funny, when you write to me by using my real name i'm always a little frightend by it. Like oh, your're talking to me, better straightend my back and listen carefully.

I'm thinking about buying this book http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/sep/26/ingrid-betancourt-even-silence-end

Ingrid Betancourt is a 25th dec capricorn.

Sorry! Don't mean to make you nervous. It's just difficult to call you scorpio17. That name is too sterile.

Interesting book to look into. One birthday book subtitles my birthday "The Indomitable One," which suggests I'm not easily broken or kept down. Apparently she isn't either.

Yes, I know scorpio17 doesn't work as username. Your're right. It's difficult finding a new name. Stillalone is a name, buth it's sounds so lonely (suitable, i can feel very lonely somtimes even among people)or Peaches, well that sounds to soft, buth more warm. Sigh, difficult.

Mmmm...Maybe you should have a contest. People can submit usernames for you to pick.

Yes, I do. Unfortunately, in real life I know most people's sun sign only, so I don't get to see what's affecting the different personalities.

I asked you not to address me or post on my strings, but I guess Lindaland isn't big enough for you to avoid me. Since you refused to comply, I am closing your string. If you behave, I will open it back up.

"Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's okay though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation...so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type...I'm like, 'hey girl, magenta!' and she's like, 'oh, you mean purple!' and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, 'no - I want magenta!'"

I finally redid the heart one. The heart isn't exactly the same. It's less wide than the other one was. Not sure if I got the background exactly the same, but it's pretty close.

Whoops. Didn't realize I made the heart slightly transparent.

EDIT: Ok, I'm back at this one today (the 17th). I did the background and the heart over again.

It does have a bit of a Daily Globe feel.

I'm pretty excited by what I've learned so far in vector art. I have a feeling I'm going to fall on my face trying to create something for my mom, though.

I tried seeing if I could distort the flower to make it appear to be turned a little sideways. It worked, but it's interesting that the texture I added to center of the flower didn't skew with the rest of the flower.

It's ok. Things happen here sometimes, and they're seldom as serious as they seem. Just a lot of egos clamoring for attention.
