Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy's a Sag (except for his diminuitive stature).

I was surprised to find out how into it people are. It's almost like the lottery is a morale booster or something. Some people are religious about participating. Others are more like me, and only participate when they feel like it. At least that's the way I was at my last company. Since I started it and have been running it, I've participated every time, which is twice a week.

My sister reports that it was 9 degrees Farenheit when she left this morning. This is the second time I've been admonished to pack warm.

I hope I find my brown scarf.

Last work day before vacation!! Let's hope everyone in my department made it in today. They've been remarkably flaky this week.

Pandora's started with some nice music this morning: Depeche Mode's Policy of Truth, U2's I Will Follow, and now The Clash's I Fought The Law. Oh, and now it's some obscure Morrissey.

Now a song that mentions both California and Nashville is playing. That's interesting. It's Mat Kearney's Nothing Left To Lose.

Hey everybody,

I'm very busy at the mo. So i'll be not much around.
At work i'm arranging with a group of collegues a christmas dinnerparty for next thursday. There will be karaoke to,
hopefully we can find a christmas song karaoke version.

S17
That poor guinea pig! Is he hiding from you?

Evanski. No he's not hiding. He's getting fat at the mo. He keeps on eating and i'll keep on giving him the food. he's a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat. I love to see him eat.A thousand chews he makes. Instead of eating him I'm gonna use him as the baby in the crib for the christmas story.

AG, are you still driving home for Christmas? Or have you arrived already?

Messed up week at work. Not only have I done the most work this week, but I also get some backlash, because they don't understand my frustration at having to do so much more than everyone.

Read this quote from the Dalai Lama today on Twitter (I follow him), and I think it illustrates Venus conjunct Neptune in the 7th really well:

"Within all beings there is a seed of perfection; but compassion is required to activate that seed inherent in our hearts and minds."

I've just made broccoli soup for the first time. It tastes good.

I'm gonna put this soup on my Christmas menu.

No worries Scorpio - glad it arrive in time for Christmas! No sign of yours yet, but we have postal backlogs of up to 5 days due to the snow. It's minus 10 here at the moment - that's unheard of around these parts. Brrrrrrr.

AG - glad to hear you are having fun. Can't wait to hear what your Mum thinks of the flamingo!!

We may get a White Christmas here, too. I don't think it's snowed yet, but the temperature is dropping.

It's nice being on vacation, and spending time with my family.

Yesterday one of my sisters, my dad, and I went and watched Tron. It was pretty cool. I wish I remembered the original better. I guess I'll have to wait for them to be paired and marketed together.

Last night my dad took me out to one of his regular poker tournament places. In the past neither of us has done stellar in these tournaments when I've been out for Christmas. I outlasted my dad in both tournaments, and in the second one I was the second to last man standing. I don't know that I've ever accomplished that in real life before.

A little backstory on playing poker. One Christmas...back when we'd meet in Southern California at my Uncle's house, we took a drive out to Laughlin, NV to visit my grandfather and uncle. While there my dad and I played Texas Hold 'Em at the casino. He didn't do too well, but I did. I came home thinking I could be a poker player. I then lost a bunch of money testing this theory at different card rooms in my area. I kind of got over poker. Meanwhile, my dad's taken it up as a hobby he's had ever since. I'm sitting at his home computer right now, and there's a book called The Illustrated Guide To No-Limit Texas Hold'Em.

I'm pleased to say that all of my gifts have come in on time. The umbrella I ordered for my sister came in a ridiculously over-sized box, but then I didn't have anything better to wrap it in, so that gift looks huge. The fabric I designed looks good. I wanted to inspect the flamingo, but it was so well wrapped I thought I'd just let my mom remove all it's packaging.

Well, my mom just got home from work (It's 1:37 pm), so I'll leave you guys for now.

Merry Christmas

Just in from Christmas Eve that saw me start in a grump (I don't know why) and come home feeling like a very blessed person.

Now I've just got to judge that critical point where it is safe to drag out the presents!!!

Have a lovely Christmas Day all.
