I had a wee dabble with hand-writing analysis a while back and have to say that I found it reasonably accurate and fascinating - more so than palm reading.Hope they released you early and that you got to crack on with your weekend. I have just caught up with my old school friends, including one of my best friends who left our rock to join the Navy 15 years ago. She's now a midwife. It made me realise how much I miss having some of the people who know and accept me for who I am around me day to day. She's a Pisces, and a very precious little fishy to me. IP: Logged |

No such luck. I had to sit around, and play on the internet for a couple hours. Heading home now finally. It's a beautiful day. It's too bad rain's coming back shortly (on Sunday).IP: Logged |

This is part of the reason I keep a stable of these people around me on the internet. It's almost impossible to be the fullest extent of myself in person. With each group of people I interact with in real life I tend to play a rather two dimensional role. I have to be known over time for people to understand me. IP: Logged |

Hmmm...got a free movie ticket. Shall I see Craigy Ferg's (Craig Ferguson's; CraigyFerg is his twitter name)How to Train a Dragon, or Tina Fey's Date Night? I might just let fate decide. IP: Logged |

I thought I was the one who couldn't make a descision sometimes. I have libra asc and venus in libra. Sometimes when i can't decide I'll take both.Buth with a movie it's difficult. I have contact lenses, buth I want glasses to. Can you imagine me having to make a choice out of a hundreds of glasses in the store. Ofcourse I asked the salesgirl what she thought. It's a difficult combination, because scorpio knows what he/she wants. That's why i'm a puzzle to people and also to myself. Uhhh, a wild guess, go to Tina Fey's Date Night!IP: Logged |

I still haven't left.Experience how? I've known about it for a few years now. It's essentially a means of manipulation. Handy to know about, so you don't get swindled. IP: Logged |

We have a few people in our organisation that are very good at communicating, taking people with them - all of that stuff.Someone recently told me that a manager that I am always very impressed by is a practitioner. It is clear that there is an element of manipulation here - as they are presumably not just a natural communicator, but practice meeting the needs of whoever they are speaking to. I find the subject interesting, and was considering exploring it further, but I don't know how well it sits with my need to always 'keep things real'? You Americans (I am not racist, honest!) are usually 10 years ahead of us with stuff like this, so I was guessing you might be familiar. IP: Logged |

Well, typically NLP users will be painting pictures for you with their words. Having you imagine the things they're framing for you in your mind.Let me see if I can find a video of a scene where NLP was put to good use. Edit: Here it is. Perfect. This is a fantastic example of it. Peter & MJ Notice all the "You"s. This is telling your subconscious a command. Spiderman, I said, uh the great thing about MJ is when you look in her eyes and she's looking back in yours, everything feels not quite normal, because you feel stronger and weaker at the same time. You feel excited, and at the same time terrified. The truth is you don't know what you feel, except you know what kind of man you want to be. It's as if you've reached the unreachable, and you weren't ready for it. It's all about directing you through this imaginary space where you imagine you've done exactly what the NLP practitioner wants you to do, and you feel absolutely perfect about it. NLP salespeople might use phrases like: You can see... You can tell... As you can imagine... ...you see yourself... You're going to... These are all phrases to program you into a particular response. The more vividly the imaginary picture is presented, the more effective it will be, because the mind will accept imagination as readily as any other reality.

Good morning!I was good, and I actually practiced a couple of my rolls in the play last night. I have to play a dumb kid from New York who's come out West to join the military. I found that it's difficult to play naïve while sporting a New York accent. I was kind of hoping to copy John Travolta's voice, but I couldn't quite get it. IP: Logged |

Yeah, my family seems to like it, too. My sister's family even got to see a rough cut of it before it was done somehow. They live in Southern California, so I think their proximity to Hollywood gave them that opportunity.IP: Logged |

Hehe John Travolta... I was just watching Kirstie Allie's Big Life (Sunday tv is awful!) yesterday and apparently the Travoltas are her best friends. I was like "huh?" at first then remembered they did those Look Who's Talking movies together. She is also a scientologist to my knowledge. They went to her birthday and I felt so awkward for them. It must not have been too long after the mourning of their son. They seem like really nice people to me. Did he have Autism? Is that part of the controversy? N E who, my sister and the kids are going to see that Dragon movie today! I would love to see the Date Night movie myself. I love the two stars, they saved prime time tv for NBC in my opinion. Man, AG, so jealous that you are so busy with plays!! I miss that! IP: Logged |

Hey AG, I like your posts with stories about your plays. I thought your play was about a tavern in the port city of Monterey, Californian. Is this a new one?Hey Ghanima81, Kirstie Allie is a cap too. I don't know what was wrong with the health of John travolta's son. It's a said story. I always liked John Travolta, he's a social aqua. IP: Logged |

I did go see Date Night. It was good. You can always count on Tina Fey to be funny.Yeah, Kirstie Alley and the Travoltas are all Scientologists. I had a Scientologist co-worker years ago who knew Kirstie from "church." IP: Logged |

Scorp17, It's the same play. This kid from New York gets Shanghai'ed by the villain. It's kind of a quick demonstration of how their evil scam works. I skipped over it in telling the story of the play, because it's fairly minor. IP: Logged |

I'm sceptical about the scientologists. All these famous stars become members. Why?Why? Networking? Well, I think everybody is free to choose their own religion...I feel cool, i'm wairing my blue jeans and my blue 'cowboy'boots. After a day's work I'm going for a ride on my bike now. Talk to you all later!

I'm sceptical of Scientologists, too, but if it works for them I guess it's alright. I'm not sure about calling it a religion, though.IP: Logged |

My bestie is a Scientologist. I think I'm more testy or weird on the subject than she is. Just because I don't really know what it's about completely. I know it's very expensive. I agree with their thoughts on prescription drugs though, for the most part. Rx companies are the devil and a major reason healthcare is as effed in the states as it is. Is this the play that you have two roles in? IP: Logged |

Three roles. I'm Sourdough Birthright, the grizzled prospector that dies in Act 1 Scene 1. He sends his friend on to bring the Deed to his tavern to his only relative, an orphan named Bertha Birthright. Next, I'm Billy, a young man from New York whose come West to join the New York Volunteers (the military of the time) in California. Finally, I'm Lorne Order, a straight-laced junior officer in the New York Volunteers. His duty is ensuring there's no profiteering going on as a result of the gold rush. He wins the heart of Berth Birthright in a surprise twist in the end.Gypsee, I almost always think about which version of the word to use when writing it. I don't know why I struggle with that word. Scientology, as far as I know, is really a set of self-help courses essentially that help you become more self-actualized. In many cases it seems to me that it turns the people into bulldogs...at least wherever these people feel threatened. That company I used to work for had all Scientologists in management. I think my dentist could do with some NLP training.I went to get my very expensive crowns (I have a rip-off merchant dentist) permanently set today. One had come out whilst I was eating, so I had to bite the bullet and get it done. I was reluctant to go as my last visit, preparing for the crowns, he 'blew' my face up with air. Surgical emphysema I think it's called. It was horrendous. But it was a freak accident, they don't know the cause, so I can't be assured that he wouldn't do it again. Anyhow, he didn't give me any pain relief this time, as it was a simple treatment. He said there may be some 'sensitivity' and that was perfectly 'normal'. He is Swedish, and I can only assume they practice the art of understatement (Scorpio - any Scandinavian observations here?). When he pushed the tooth down to glue I nearly vomitted with the pain, then he did it again! I was blubbing like a baby, lip wobbling, chest heaving - the works. I NEVER cry in front of people, unless it is a sad film/programme. I had the assistant holding one hand and him the other. Then he says 'why do you look at me like I am a horrible man?'!!!! Oh wow... yikes! There's a Dutch orthodontist in my improv group, so he immediately springs to mind. He'd probably take a little delight in hurting you. He's a real strange guy. Looks very nice and approachable, and I believe he really is, but he's said stuff to me like he's good at confrontation, and sometimes he comes out with some really strange stuff in improv.
