fun projects from shrunken wool sweaters when youve accidentally (or purposefully ) felted a wool sweater in the washer, turn it into a warm pair of slippers..... http://thrillinglythrifty.blogspot.com/2010/10/recycled-wool-sweater-slippers-tutorial.html http://www.instructables.com/id/Cosy-slippers-from-your-old-woolly-jumper/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ all this makes me want to pull out my wool roving and get busy making new things.

I used to have a thin pattern book for making jumpers for dogs... I don't know what happened to it. They had blankets to match. When I was younger, I wanted to knit beds for cats - you used a special wool, and did something to it, so that it stiffened into a shape as a bed. I can't find the website, though. This was years ago. IP: Logged |

These are great ideas and I wouldn`t have to struggle with knitting needles. I made Tbird a fleece kind of coat out of pajama top. It was too loose and the velcro misplaced for a good fit. He scraped and scratched until he got it off them promptly hiked his leg peed on it. Failure! So , it got me to thinking about the subject and how to. The small dog patterns can just be increased in size & matertial and good to go. Yes I enjoy sewing and have my own machine. I don`t sew as much as I did but this xtra bitter winter keeps me indoors more and looking for projects. Great & thanks for ideas ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. Funny abt Tbird juni. Mine is not fond of clothing either. When she sees a sweater in my hand she scurries off to hide somewhere. Yeah i was thinking it would be easy enough to increase the size for larger dogs too. Have fun!teasel, you reminded me of these cat cocoons; https://www.etsy.com/search?q=cat%20cocoon&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US&ref=auto1
something on my things to make someday list. another diy project i wanted to make for a friend xmas or bday http://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/how-to-build-a-pet-window-seat/index.html IP: Logged |

I like mine. Making it til the end is a good game plan The list kinda reminded me of the improv type story we all did on yourfriendinspirits site T, I have a thick flannel sheet I am going to practice on. Size and placement of the velcro seems to be my problem. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. hello my luvs. juni, you could always make two straps horizontilly across across his underbody rather than one long strip lengthwise (if that's what you might be trying to do)......kind of like a saddle. AG, i don't know why your sign had to be the one that snapped, but as a Taurus I totally understand mine and quite frankly am sick of being labeled the 'slow poke' of the zodiac. IP: Logged |
