Is that your own composition? Style of a modern romantic of early 1900s.'Freestyle'.. were you improvising on the spot? Are you aware that there's software available that 'as' you compose at the keyboard, it creates(types) notes on a staff (sheet music), creating a score of your work. Stores it. You can edit as you wish. If you'd like, you could duplicate this thread's music piece over in Yellow Wax. We've had people not only leave writings, but photos of art work, and musical compositions. LF-DX is a member who has composed pieces, has a band, and shared a few youtubes and soundclouds of his work, a long time ago. He also writes musical lyrics which he leaves in Yellow Wax for comments. IP: Logged |

Yes the comp is mine and I had improvised on the spot; happened to be in a building with a dance studio/piano that day and gave it a go, havent played the piano since that time (don’t own one). Thanks for the tip, couldn’t recall which sub forum [YellowWax] was for sharing work IP: Logged |

Curious if you are in the picture? If so, the beautiful woman underneath the statue or the one wearing the black dress with their arms up (which oddly makes it look like a giant nose to me)? IP: Logged |

You may be already familiar with this piece. (music) Trois Gymnopedies (Erik Satie, piano) [9:13] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyUNbrgLezI YT NOTES posted: by Jessiemelodieworld k * The Gymnopédies, published in Paris starting in 1888, are three piano compositions written by French composer and pianist Erik Satie. These short, atmospheric pieces are written in 3/4 time, with each sharing a common theme and structure. Collectively, the Gymnopédies are regarded as an important precursor to modern ambient music — gentle yet somewhat eccentric pieces which, when composed, defied the classical tradition. [citation needed] . . For instance, the first few bars of Gymnopédie No. 1 consist of an alternating progression of two major seventh chords, the first on the subdominant, G, and the second on the tonic, D. The melodies of the pieces use deliberate, but mild, dissonances against the harmony, producing a piquant, melancholy effect that matches the performance instructions, which are to play each piece "painfully", "sadly" or "gravely". From the second half of the 20th century on, the Gymnopédies were often erroneously described as part of Satie's body of furniture music, perhaps because of John Cage's interpretation of them. * Éric Alfred Leslie Satie (pronounced: [eʁik sati]) (signed his name Erik Satie after 1884) {TAURUS} (17 May 1866, Honfleur -- 1 July 1925, Paris) was a French composer and pianist. Satie was a colourful figure in the early 20th century Parisian avant-garde. His work was a precursor to later artistic movements such as minimalism, repetitive music, and the Theatre of the Absurd. An eccentric, Satie was introduced as a "gymnopedist" in 1887, shortly before writing his most famous compositions, the Gymnopédies. Later, he also referred to himself as a "phonometrician" (meaning "someone who measures sounds") preferring this designation to that of a "musician", after having been called "a clumsy but subtle technician" in a book on contemporary French composers published in 1911. In addition to his body of music, Satie also left a remarkable set of writings, having contributed work for a range of publications, from the dadaist 391 to the American culture chronicle Vanity Fair. Although in later life he prided himself on always publishing his work under his own name, in the late nineteenth century he appears to have used pseudonyms such as 'Virginie Lebeau' and 'François de Paule' in some of his published writings. Okay, question. Back when I was first poking around on this site, I came across something highly relevant, and I’m about 85% certain it was you who wrote it. It was about a Buddhist ritual of forgiveness, involving 4 people, one of whom is a stranger. If this sounds familiar, I feel like it’s something a lot of people could benefit from. If not, I‘ll try to unearth it myself.IP: Logged |

Wow, sorry I didn’t realize the additional comments since I posted. I’ll get back throughout the course of the day. @Galactic, I am the one standing on the statue, though it’s an old photo. @mirage, thanks for sharing words on the classical works. I’m particularly fond of Schumann these days. And the pianist Idil Biret http://youtu.be/whI5XSG3sc8 Here’s Trois Gymnopedies by Gary Numan: http://youtu.be/acId5ftnjnE @chanterelle was not me, though kind of you to associate. Austria is also in lockdown. haven’t the opportunity to involve myself in the cultural landscape yet in these conditions, though I’m content. And would gladly accept your baby grand ☺️ IP: Logged |

Thank you for sharing the more recent pic Vansio. You look like you have definite Capricorn shading into your ASC and looks some. Definitely not a very archetypal Cancer Rising. I'd be lying if I said I haven't ever wondered what, if any, deeper, pre life connections there might be, especially with one's Sun almost right on the other's South Node, and some other patterns. I seem very familiar to most strangers---this is the archetypal Cancer rising. Also, am one to believe that Moon controls the native's physical features---mine being Capricorn.

Vansio! Loved your picture!! Robert Schumann was a Gemini Sun! Virgo Moon, and CAPRICORN Rising. - http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Schumann,_Robert First piece I immediately think of relating to Schumann is this one. "Of Foreign Lands and People".. {{like Austria? }} (music) Schumann: Von fremden Ländern und Menschen (Martha Argerich) [2:00] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1_Yjqj9xSY . . One of his more-familiar pieces is this. (music) Schumann Piano Concerto in A minor (Martha Argerich & Riccardo Chailly, 2014) [35:58] * Pianist Idil Biret ~~ It's her birthday Nov 21! *balloons* Sun Scorpio ~28+, with a late Sag or early Cap Moon - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%B0dil_Biret - http://idilbiret.eu/ Her youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIrsnGZbDUx3wOtIAwHaB4g The Gary Numan interpretation of the Satie is different. Applies an electronic slidewhistle treatment to it?.
Austria is RICH in Beauty, Classical Music. Opera. 'The Sound of Music' was filmed there. Loved the movie, Amadeus. LOL A personal friend had won a music competition in USA, and received a scholarship to study abroad in Austria. *~ *hand raised* .. Chanterelle, Hey, uhm. If Vansio can't get the piano, can *I* call dibs??????? {j/k} Picture on my Vision Board in an alcove. IP: Logged |

I just meant more so as far as looks. Archetypal Cancer (ASC/Rising) is short, tendency to be pudgy/gain weight easily, in women large breasts, while hair is often dark, skin is often relatively pale and light for the ethnicity(s) involved, and eyes tend to be lighter--in those with predominant caucasian descent--often pale or watery blue. In those with more darkly pigmented ethnic heritage, more light brown or light'ish green. Well either way, it definitely does relate since its the chart ruler. I have a friend with Cancer Rising that looks a bit like you. Her Moon is in Virgo and she has Capricorn Uranus and Saturn opposed her ASC. She also varies quite a bit from the archetypal Cancer Rising looks. She has strong Portuguese background and is darker (and slimmer and taller) than archetypal Cancer. Indicated by her ruler being in Virgo, and the Capricorn Uranus and Saturn opposed her ASC degree. IP: Logged |
