Glaucus, I misspelled your name on the post title, I am sorry!!!!Anyway: Have you heard of syesthesia? Do you think there's any placement/aspects for it? I thought you might know, since you have an interest in neurological subjects. This one always fascinates me. I took an online test about it, because I felt I might have it in some way. I don't think it's a 'disorder'...it feels too good to be true almost. If anyone is interested, here are a couple of links about this amazing phenomena : http://web.mit.edu/synesthesia/www/ http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/syne.html Fascinating stuff. IP: Logged |

I don't know.I really have no idea but I associate language with pictures, but that might not be synesthesia because I think mainly in pictures any way, I have nonstop visualization...so even when I am processing language whether speaking, writing, typing, listening, reading, I am continuously visualizing things in my mind's eye. I always visualize whatever I do before doing it. I also always visualize myself doing something while I am doing it like I am seeing my reflection in a mirror. I also tend to associate things with music. I would even have certain types of songs that I associate with people.....especially females that I have been romantically interested in. I have done that as long as I could remember. When a certain song plays, it makes me think of her. it could even be a song from School House Rock. I tend to play back music, tunes in my head a lot. I think in music a lot too. That actually helped me write lyrical types of poetry I can associate colors easily with music, things, and whatever....but I am not sure if that's synesthesia or just my visual thinking. Of course if you mention the color,I will automatically see the actual color in my head as well as produce an image of something that has that color....like you say green, I might imagine a tree. If you say yellow, I might think of a banana. If you say orange, I will think of the fruit that is the same color. If you think of brown,I will be probably imagining a chocolate candy bar. If tell me red, I might visualize blood. etc I think Neptune might be involved with synesthesia....especially if aspecting Moon or Mercury which are both involved in information processing. Neptune is associated with visualization, imagination, and music....it might involved with color.....Venus might be involved too though.....especially color relating to art. I have Mercury-Venus-Neptune parallel in the declinations.

You're right, I was definitely thinking it was something with Neptune and Venus also, maybe the Moon even ...the whole tactile thing is incredible. People thinking in bursts of colors and musical pitch causing taste. I have the music thing too, at odd times. I'll sometimes think I'm hearing it, even if it's not being played (makes me want to learn to play an instrument again) I really wish I could get my hands on some astro info about it. I'll go and try and find something IP: Logged |

I have dont want to self-diagnose, but I have similar symptoms to what is described as synesthesia.Certain images give me goosebumps & create a very strong negative viceral reaction in my body. There is a specific name for this condition, but I don't want to go into detail. I get a lot of emotion from words, I can feel them. Some words feel beautiful and warm & others make me feel queezy. Neptune in the 1st house & Pisces Moon.

Sun trine Moon with 2'10 orb, and Sun conjunct true Lunar Apogee(aka Black Moon Lilith) feelings, emotions, sensitivity, intuition have always been the essence of who I am whether it's expressing, thinking, feeling

I used to give clairvoyant & tarot readings. (prt time). I also trained as a medium, Reiki & spiritual healer. I have been described as psychic & I see (fuzzly)/feel/hear spirit & other energy beings. It gets to be a bit much sometimes...too much bloody Neptune & that 3rd house Pisces Moon! IP: Logged |

WOW. That's pretty incredible. It's hard to close that door completely once it's open, I know. I get more of the audio stuff: music/voices, and become hypersensitive to sound. Makes me feel elfish sometimes Don't think I have too much Neptune going on, but the 12th house moon/Pisces cusp can be freaky...My Neptune sits right between on my 7th/8th, conjuncts my eighth. Sometimes I get really freaked out by the stuff I sense/hear. IP: Logged |

It's a subject I'm very interested in about for years! From what I've read up, it might be present in some form in everyone. Therefore we have expression like "chilling words". There are many different forms of synaesthesia, including those unique to individuals. I don't hear colours, but words have a taste to me. And people have shapes/textures when I see or think of them. It's involuntary. I never thought about checking them in charts. There are many notable poets with Synaesthesia, it helps them alot in artistic endeavors. Perhaps we can find some common placements. To receive information and process it differently...Neptune/Uranus placements with Mercury perhaps? IP: Logged |
