I think it should be considered that Aquarius isn't associated with "close friends" and that the 11th house may simply represent "acquaintances".Aquarius is the sign of impersonal humanity, it is global and detached, and I personally wouldn't look to the 11th for one's "closest friends". That being said, I have another airy sign, Gemini, on my 11th. I have Aquarius on my Descendant. I don't have any close friends. *Edit: I'm a Scorpio Sun, Libra Moon, Leo Asc, and if I were remotely close with anyone, it would be my Capricorn Sun, Gemini Moon, Aries Asc ex-girlfriend, but I may only talk to her twice a month. Sagittarius Sun and Ascendant women are very common in my life, but they never care enough for me to consider them "close" friends. All males just hang around, and often barely meet my definition of "friends". IP: Logged |

I've heard from numerous people that close friends belong in the second house.

Like ScorpWeb said, close friends are most likely associated with the 7th house.Anyway, I have my 11th in Aries with Jupiter in there (Mars in Sag in 6th). BFF/roommate: Sun: Cap Moon: Virgo Rising: Virgo other roommate: Sun: Leo Moon: Sagittarius Rising: Scorpio number 2: Sun: Scorpio Moon: Scorpio Rising: Virgo number 3: Sun: Sag Moon: Cancer rising: unknown best male friend: Sun: Taurus Moon: Cap Rising: unknown 2nd male friend: Sun: Cap Moon: Virgo Rising: Cap I guess I have a lot of Earth people in my life because I lack Earth. edit: Fist, where did you hear 2nd? I've never ever heard that. I guess because its the 4th from the 11th? Where is Kick It, he's good with that kind of thing. IP: Logged |

Hmm, my 11th is in Aquarius but shifts mostly to Pisces. I get along with both just fine (I seem to associate more with Aquarians), but the majority of my close friends tend to be female Scorpios (maybe related to my 7th?) I also get along well with Leos, (5th house)...I really enjoy them. Those are my main steadies for friendship, I've noticed. IP: Logged |

Some of my close female friends have one or two aries placements which is the sign on my 11th house. But I'd say the most common denominator among my closest female friends arent aries placemnts, but virgo placements (my moon sign), moon in sagittarius (my mars sign) and a bit of capricorn (my sun, mercury and venus sign).Platonic male friends also have virgo placements, some are strongly piscean (sign on my MC). Also noticed sun in gemini with venus in cancer (my ascendant sign and sign on my 2nd house cusp). So aries figures in a few female friends charts, but not really in male friends. However, someone mentioned that the 11th house also is about 'love received' and there I definitely see a connection. Men that fall all over me at first sight tend to have strong aries placements. And I'm often attracted to those who have moon in aries (or just a strong marsian moon, that could also be moon conjunct mars.) So that might be an addition to Peri's question? If your 11th house sign doesnt figure strongly in your close friendships, how about in romantic relationships (i.e. in the context of the 'love received'). IP: Logged |

OMG, Anna! You're so right about the 'love received'! Just about ALL of them tend to be Aquarius and Pisces - mainly Aquarius. And here I was in that Aquarius males thread earlier saying I never felt they were neutral toward me...wow lol. I seemed to get a lot of love from the Aquarius males for some odd reason. I never got in a long-term romance with one, but I've always had very pleasant dealings with them, and felt even nurtured. I remember one Aquarius boy I dated trying to awkwardly outline love to me and how he felt, saying "Woman, I agappe you, dammit!" I thought I drew them because I was raised with a VERY Aquarian family : Dad Mom Grandmother Brother Uncle Aunt 3 cousins LOL. Awesome...so, another mystery is solved...thank you IP: Logged |

MVM,interesting, yes there seems to be somehting to the 'love received' theory. I just cant remember who on this forum mentioned it. By the way, how do YOU react to aquarians? Are you drawn to them romantically/physically or is it mostly a lukewarm/platonic reaction. I guess there is a contradiciton in the whole 11th theory when we are looking at it in the context of romantic relationships. On the one the claim that you will see those mostly as friends who put planets in your 11th house, but on the other hand they will love you (I'm oversimplifying). So how is it with you and aquas - big gap between love received and love felt on your part? IP: Logged |

My 11th cusp is Aqua and there's no planets in that house...Best friends: Sun: Sag Moon: Taur Asc: Cancer Sun: Leo Moon: Aries Asc: unknown Looking at the planet ruling my 11th, it's Uranus, which is in my 7th house in Sag. I think all of this doesn't determine so much the signs in my best friends, but the nature of them - all of my friends and significant others have had strong Uranian traits somehow, and it's usually by aspect or location of Uranus in the chart rather than having planets in Aquarius themselves. I had mentioned the "love received" attribute of the 11th, but I'm not the only one to have said this. To my knowledge, the idea of the 11th house and "love received" has been echoed several times on this forum: it is a well known concept throughout astrology. The 5th is supposed to represent the type of people we frequently fall for, while the 11th house is the 5th house from the 7th: the "love" from "others". However, Gemini Sun women have never liked me. From them I see all of the "acquaintance" feel and none of the "love received", although both of these attributes are supposed to be granted to the 11th. Personally, I only see "love received" coming from the 11th house where the Moon is concerned. Specifically I believe this is because the Moon is considered astrology's ultimate Feminine force. Gemini is my 11th house, and three Gemini Moon women have been my three most important love affairs, but only one is among my "closest friends". Gemini Moons falling into my 11th house have constantly surfaced in my life, this has caused my speculation of "the woman's moon falling in the house ruled by the sign on the descendant": Aquarius is my Desc, which is the natural ruler of the 11th (this general concept was also theorized by Cappadora). Makes sense, Scorpionic, about the 'extended descendant' theory. I have never understood the deal with the 5th house in regards to love though. I've got mine on a Leo cusp, but I have never *really* fallen for a Leo male sun. I love them in a rather detached way most of the time, and they are good friends, but physically/emotionally I just never felt the draw. You'd think there would be more, with my moon in Aries and all, but no. I can't seem to figure that out.Anna: I am drawn to Aqua sun males generally because I've never felt *judged* by them. That was part of the love received - it was given with no judgment, and there was mutual admiration there. I just never got around to getting to know one for a love relationship...they keep coming into my life at the wrong times: either I was very young and wasn't interested in relationship, or I was just getting over a relationship, or who knows what else. But I've always felt the biggest level of unconditional love from Aqua males, closely followed by Leo males. Maybe one day Generally I suppose I am drawn to them...I like the way they think, and their broad-minded approach. If anything, they almost seemed to get sentimental too fast with me, and when the timing is wrong, that can sometimes be overwhelming. I did have a brief, torrid involvement with a Leo moon male, but he was a HUGE drama queen...and that's a rather large statement coming from an Aries moon Then again, he was an Aries, and I'm generally not a big fan of Aries men. MVM,apart from the 11th house are there any other natal placements that might also explain that 'pulling power' for aquas? From your forum name I assume you are a virgo sun. Or s.th. in there chart, maybe these guys had an earth venus? IP: Logged |

Man, MVM mentioned this (in a later thread) and I totally agreed. Although for me, its 'love recieved' on almost all levels, not just romantic. I feel like I've never had to try hard to gain a Scorpio or Sag influenced person's affection, it just seems like they automatically like me. Both both signs take up my 11th house.

Maybe look at the placement of the ruler of the 11th to get a more detailed picture. Leo is on my 11th house cusp, and I don't have any Leo friends (except my mom!). But my 11th-house ruler is in my 7th house, and my best friend(s) tend to be whomever I'm in a romantic relationship with, or people I dated for a long time in the past.

I have 11th in Aries with Jupiter in 11th (opposes Moon). Mars is in 6th (maybe accounts for the number of Virgos in my life?) in Sagittarius.Bff: Cap Sun, Virgo Moon, Virgo Rising second bff: Scorpio Sun, Scorpio Moon, Virgo Rising best male friend: Taurus Sun, Cap Moon, unknown rising other girlfriend: Aries Sun, Gemini Moon, unknown rising I have a lot of Earth influenced friends, I think its because I have a lack of Earth (just singleton Neptune in Cap). My DSC is also in Sagittarius... and there aren't a lot of Sags in my life either IP: Logged |

I have Neptune in my 11th house, in Sagittarius. My 11th house cusp is in Scorpio, though...so that would make my 11th house ruler Pluto, right? Pluto's in my 9th house, in Libra.I've had platonic friends of all signs and types, and I tend to have a few close friends at a time, but I move on to new ones after a few years. I'm always closest to my boyfriend at the time, even though my love relationships are always really agonizing and Plutonian compared to my friendships. I tend to be very Neptunian and very Sagittarian in my friendships, loving especially anyone I can be very dreamy with, who is openhearted and can live in the present moment and have adventures.
