My name asteroid is in Taurus and sextiles my Saturn and Juno exact and squares my Moon in Aquarius exact. It surely makes sense to me. Some people have seen "taurean" qualities in me (especially in terms of patience and a fondness for comfort and food ) and I do not have anything else in Taurus. If asteroids work on name frequencies (and in some way even planets do, as we derived their traits from mythology and associate their names like Pluto or mars with a certain mythological creation), then name asteroids of course do so, too. But of course noone HAS to believe this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There are even people who don`t believe astrology works for that reason. IP: Logged |

Name asteroids work ! Like DD said she could see tauren qualities in herself I see Gemini qualities in me. You can also use nicknames that you go by. Peri, I am wondering about middle names any ideas? I liked what you said about the last names, I think that it may also pertain to the person not just the parents, maybe it would depend on house sign and aspects ( conj, opp )as well. What do you think about them having your name in their chart conjunct another asteroid like cupid, eros ? and even aspect where say they don't have a grand trine but your name would give them the grand trine? (In their chart) IP: Logged |

This doesn't sound astrologically substantiable to me in any way.Natal astrology has to do with the positions of planets, asteroids, etc at the moment of your first breath, and the energies that they bring to you. Transits, synastry, etc all follow this logic. It seems to me that the particular name of an asteroid/dwarf planet/etc wouldn't be astrologically relevent, unless it was named specifically to represent its astrological significance (Eros, Lilith, Psyche, etc.) A lot of asteroids are just named by whoever got credit for discovering them, with no astrological connection. Also, it would mean that everyone I know named, say, "Gregory", has the same significance in my life vis-a-vis sign and house placement. That just strikes me as bizarre and not astrologically credible, significant, or substantable.IP: Logged |

"any aspects to it? I think you see yourself as a spiritual person, intellectually inclined, forever probing people and places in search of information, bright and quick-witted. Does it make any sense?" Peri-Yes it makes perfect sense I am definitely an information hound... I probe and probe till I find what I am looking for.
Aspects are: Name asteroid sextile Mars Name asteroid square Uranus Name asteroid square Pluto Name asteroid square Chiron What effect would the aspects have? ***Edit*** Just realized my name astroid is also retrograde.

Here is my experience, I have john opp my vertex I don't feel that every man named john is fated. However, when I saw a soulmate with that name it hit me, He also has my name opp his vertex so my guess is he would feel that as well. plus we have many other aspects, karma ect... so to me he is fated.

For the record, I LOVE name asteroids! They reveal so much imo. I agree with Peri's thoughts on the asteroids, too. I will give you a few examples. My name asteroid is 2deg. Taurus in my 6th house. I have nothing else in Taurus (except DC) and nothing else in my 6th house. It trines my Neptune, Mercury, and Sun. I do feel I have a lot of Taurus qualities..very sensual, I think beautiful surroundings and aesthetics are very important, I love comfort and security. Not sure about the 6t house thing though. I am kind of a health nut. Maybe that's it. As far as aspecting my natal planets..I definitely see myself as seeking knowledge, curious, artistic, dreamy, intuitive. Now here's something about synastry. The guy I love doesn't have his name in the astro.com list. There are just variations of his name, names added on, etc. Except there is one that is his name plus "chen" at the end of it. It reminded me of Japanese people adding "chan" to the end of names to make them a term of endearment. So I used that one in synastry. WOW.
His name is in my 4th house (where his Sun and Venus fall in my chart, as well) and squares my Chiron at 0 deg. Quintile my Neptune at 0 deg. Square Saturn, conjunct Jupiter, TRINE VENUS, and square Moon. I really love him..the first person I've ever really been in love with. However our relationship is/was restricted..we had to keep it secret. He hurt my feelings badly, too. My experience with him opened up a huge part of me I never knew existed. He is a very important factor in my life. His name in my chart exactly conjuncts HIS Sun. I'm pretty sure all these aspects reveal my perception of and experience with him Also, just another small example. The asteroid named Peru is in my mom's 10th house..she took a trip to Peru a few years ago and it changed her life so much that she's now changed her career to travel/tour director Cool eh? ------------------ Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moon Mercury:: Sagittarius Venus::Scorpio Mars::Pisces IP: Logged |

LL09, you did not offend me.DolceLuna, yes, similar in any way that makes sense to you, I have found they still work, I cannot explain why but they do. vesta-sister, middle name adds flavour, I'd say but I haven't observed them often enough to say more your name conj any other planet or asteroid in someone's chart makes the native somehow identify you with the planet's influence / energy, I think: the guy I loved name asteroid is conj my bml and he did evoke 'primal' emotions in me: fear, obsessiveness, that I could not rationally control, he actually represented my animus figure; my mom's name asteroid is conj my ASC and she influenced my outlook much stronger than other moms usually do to their daughters If your name forms a grand trine in their chart, I can say that you may play a role of some kind of a teacher to them or you can bring opportunities their way without even realizing it provided you know each other long-term so that this influence could manifest A lot of asteroids are just named by whoever got credit for discovering them yes but it does not influence how they work for someone who considers them Scorp, retro name asteroid, especially in gemini makes you think, re-think and then think again trying to get to the depths of your inner self I think you can read aspects to it the same way as if you had these aspects to your Sun, but the difference is that name asteroid is more intimate, it's your relationship with your Self, your own self-concept sort of, while Sun aspects are more of a social influece, like 'how others (parents, friends, lovers, co-workers, etc) have made you feel about your Self', it's like a coat (Sun) and the lining (name asteroid) ... something like that... I hope it makes sense because I cannot put into words what I want to say right now ... IP: Logged |

when i first read about name asteroids, i was also skeptical too. but out of curiosity i used them with my close friends, family and ex-lovers, and the result was "shocking". i don't know in what way to make sense, but i do believe in their roles.as for whether different Johns in one's life have the same meaning or not, i think it's pretty much the same thing as having a very significant chart with a stranger. you may have a synastry with loads of very important aspects, but you don't come to know the person well to begin with so those aspects never come in effect. so if you know 3 Johns and one is your lover, one a family member, and one an acquaintance, the rest of the charts are more important in how your relationship with them will be than the name asteroids themselves. if the "core" elements are not triggered, name asteroids don't either. on the subject of common-name asteroids i have a combined name with a certain someone which also describes a profession involved with the ocean. we have conjunct pisces moons lol! but the point i meant to make was that this same man has been significantly involved with at least 3 other women whose name is basically the same as mine!! (we are not youngsters!) both our name asteroids occupy significant places in each others charts and the combined name asteroid is linked to karma in almost every chart i have done linking us to each other! while his name is not uncommon and also impacts my chart interestingly, i have never been the least bit attracted to anyone else with that name IP: Logged |

Yep. My ex-bf's name is tightly conjunct my Eros. With the guy that things are currently disasterously not working out with, but we both feel some intense connection, his name is snugly conjunct my Moon and falls in my 7th house. IP: Logged |

To see if a certain name is linked to a specific person (instead of all other individuals with that name) you could look out for synastric connection.Example: Let`s say the name "David" is in 15 Aquarius in my chart (as it is btw). I think this might be a "pointer" to a specific person, only if the other person has a conjunction or opposition of Sun, Moon, Mars, NN, ASC or David in his chart to my David. Or differently said, in someone`s chart my nameasteroid is in Pisces - every woman with my name would carry that energy for the man. But as it happens my chartruler is conjunct that position in Pisces - so this particular energy is actually present in my personality. IP: Logged |

DD, Well, I have an aspect with someone whom I have his name opp my vertex and he has my name opp his vertex. We have an ASC/MC conjunction plus many other things and his connection feel very fated. The other person his name is conjunct my IC and my name conjunct his IC. ( family - be it mundane or soul level) I feel him deeply it is something that can not be explained. right now his name is progressed to my cupid and he has my name conjunct his cupid/Ic nataly. This is very strong right now. so, it is not just the moon, sun, nn, mars, asc. I was wondering about the names of places and how they work in your life? any comments on this

Of course the axis of IC-MC and Vertex-Antivertex would be strong, too.I have the feeling that if names of places figure strongly, either you have an affinity to these places (depending on aspects) or maybe even have had a past life there (especially if conjunct / opposite Moon, DNA, IC, SN and Karma) IP: Logged | |
