What are you guys' opinions on using asteroids with the same name as yours in a chart...any significance? What would the aspects or sign placement mean?

name asteroids are very significant in synastry charts and in your own, it shows how you perceive yourself, describes your own mythology

any aspects to it? I think you see yourself as a spiritual person, intellectually inclined, forever probing people and places in search of information, bright and quick-witted.

Does that mean that where your name asteroid is located in their chart in synastry is how they perceive you... or is where your name in your chart is located in their over-lay? I always wondered that.

your name asteroid in someone's natal chart is what you are to them depending on aspects it makes, conjunctions are especially important

So where my asteroid appears in their chart is what I am to them? But wouldn't that mean that every John I meet (if there is an asteroid John ) would have the same effect on me? Or do you mean where it hits me in the overlay..? I don't even know what I'm saying at this point but maybe you get it.

no, I did not mean overlays, I meant your name in their natal chart and their name in your natal chart; their perception of themself does not coincide with how you percieve them so I dont think we should use name asteroids as other planets in synastry overlays, looking where they fall in your chart

I don't know about every John but if, say, you have natal John conjunct your Venus there going to be that special John in your life

no, Erika it's not freaky, I've seen A's name asteroid conj Karma / Union /Destinn etc in B's natal pretty often (in charts of long-term partners or spouses)

I've been thinking about it recently ... your last name asteroid may reveal family dynamics from your own perspective;
In synastry between spouses last name asteroids show how we see our partner's parents and other closest relatives.

the idea of choosing an asteroid because its name is similar or sounds the same as your birth name, just seems like a superficial thing to me.

like im only comparing the idea of the usual astrology, like it made me think (if my name was leon, does that make me leoish?)

i havent tried it because i can't. but thats why im asking if this name asteroid idea really works that well?

My name Asteroid is there.
And when I typed it in, it didnt appear superficial to me.
It was well aspected at 4 Pisces in the 4th house. Which describes alot about how I percieve myself especially in my soul group and shed some further light on some other subjects that interest me.

Similar in meaning or in spelling? I have the same problem as LL09. I found an asteroid with a similar spelling to my name.....but then wondered if I should find one that just means the same thing. O__o
