Ixion wasn't a rapist, but he was definitely lustful. After all, he came onto the queen of the gods, Hera while he was on Mount Olympus waiting for Zeus to purify him for the murder of his father in law who he killed to avoid a dowry. Yes...he was a married man when he came onto Hera. He mated with a fake Hera made from a cloud named Nephele. Their union resulted in Centaurus who mated with a mare, and that union resulted in the centaurs.Chiron is a unique centaur. He comes from divine heritage and is immportant. He was the son of Cronus (taken the form of a horse during conception) and Philyra,a nymph. His mother abandoned him because of his half man, half horse appearance. His father rejected him. He ended up being the mentor of heroes and heroines like Achilles,Heracles, and Atalanta. He was a healer too,and he taught the healing arts to Asclepius who ended up surpassing him because he was the son of Apollo, the God of healing. He was the husband of Chariklo and the father of Okyrhoe. There solar system centaur objects named after those two too. Chariklo is the largest of the centaurs in our solar system.

“It is absolutely the perfect name,” Dr. Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status.
In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.
“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Dr. Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”
