I guess that some members here already tried some online vedic compatibility calculators like this: http://www.astrosage.com/freechart/matchMaking.asp In the past days, I've been trying to understand how this method of compatibility calculation works (but well, due to some language and culture barriers, it's still a bit hard for me to understand this method. ^_^; ). So far, I've found some instructions about how each detail is calculated, and they are easy to understand: http://varahamihira.blogspot.com/2004/10/marriage-compatibility.html http://www.geocities.com/cupofmagic/LearnAstrology/Compatibilty/Matching.html http://books.google.pt/books?id=-iAVEpTwwloC&pg=PA129&lpg=PA129&dq=nakshatra+compatibility+revati&source=bl&ots=J-WhEp-fPo&sig=cdcF4jEJjnxy1BLLy8LNu0uhhqY&hl=pt-PT&ei=rG7gSumAEMaNj AeWhPWkBg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=9&ved=0CDAQ6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=&f=false http://books.google.pt/books?id=8mStWfsHf1gC&pg=PA153&lpg=PA153&dq=rasi+marriage&source=bl&ots=JnG-z65RaZ&sig=MDqQgtLUY2gQwQLMXr78iwpwYTU&hl=pt-PT&ei=-6rjSurdDc2q4Qbn0qCDAg&sa=X&oi =book_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CBMQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=&f=false (I've noticed that there are some differences/contradictions between different instructions in certain details thought - it would be great if someone can help me understand it >_< - it's about Rasi/Bhakoot calculation, as some positions, like 4th and 12th sometimes seems ok, sometimes seems bad that I can't understand which one is right) Also, I find certain things not making sense to me (like how trine Moon signs are actually not compatible with each other), maybe due to myself being accustomed to the Western astrology (although it's still interesting). So what do you guys think of vedic compatibility calculation methods?
(feel free to try the instructions above and tell me what you think X3 ) IP: Logged |

Hmm...I can't really imagine ever deciphering these scores...But, according to that first link, I have compatibility of 18 (the bare minimum) with the guy I'm seeing now, 24 with my ex, and 26.5 with Pisces Moon Man, who rejected me and broke my ego and hurt my heart a lot too. ("The Vedic marriage match score is excellent in your case. Your life as a married couple would be harmonious. You will have a fine understanding of each other's needs and drives will help each other grow and achieve your respective destinies."--hmm, too bad he completely did not want me at all.)

Also--this whole thing seems inaccurate to me: quote: Astrologically three Ganas (temperaments of natures) are recognised viz., Deva (divine), Manusha (human), and Rakshasa (diabolical). Deva represents piety, goodness of character end charitable nature. Manusha is a mixture of good and bad, while Rakshasa suggests dominance, self-will and violence. These different natures are indicated by the birth, constellation.
The guy I'm seeing is "Deva", I am "Manusha"--but in real life, he ought to be Rakshasa or Manusha--he is soooo not-pious. IP: Logged |

I wish I knew more about this stuff - it's so much more interesting than standard ego-based Western astrology. I got the bare bones score of 18 with my ex-husband lol. IP: Logged |

Hmm no one here to share their experiences with vedic compatibility? Actually, I'm still more into western astrology, coz aside of being more familiar with its system, it also makes more sense to me (symbolically/intuitively). Although it would be interesting to understand new stuffs, so that it would be interesting to share experiences and thoughts, specially about the differences between this system and western astrology's system. I know with my guy now we have a 26 and we get along GREAT. The only thing I know about Vedic is that the Moon is considered more important.... and that kind of makes sense to me. I'd love to study more of this, because the Western astro stuff feels very stifling sometimes, like there's a lot of missing elements. IP: Logged |

The Vedic astrology system regards the moon as the most important planet. The moon signs are matched rather than the sun signs. Their calculations also come out totally different WRT to the houses. Some people swear by the Vedic charts. IP: Logged |

Sorry, didn't mean to kill the thread! Would love to know more about this--how accurate (or not) people have found it in a Western context, etc etc.IP: Logged |
