Yeah it's sa funny one the 6th. Quite mundane really. Existentially i've always found it rules work, day to day stuff and work colleagues. Example Mars trasiting the 6th solar house has always meant arguments at work and / or a hard working period / quite stressful, and possibly effecting the health. Mercury transiting the 6th solar house = someone being a sh1tstirrer at work etc etcIP: Logged |

I sometimes think it means someone uses you if their planets fall into your 6th. IP: Logged |

Diana, where are you getting your info? i hate the bad rep the 6th gets - what you're saying is negative and while i am sure there are examples, i don't think it's some kind of 6th house rule. i've got my venus in my boyfriend's 6th. no, he's not 'using' me. i've had other's planets in serious relationships in my 6th and i've never 'used' them either. i have had a great relationship which was short term that was pretty much 6th house in composite but it was more of an energy exchange and we helped each other. i know it's not a romantic house per se but you know what, if someone's 7th house ruler or 5th or 8th house ruler is in there, it can be romantic. plus day to day stuff is 6th house - the details of it. and while that may be boring to some, if you can't make nice with the sixth house in synastry, you're probably not going to do the day to day well, such as living together. Rasp, why don't you put up the chart if possible pls? One aspect is just one drop of water in an ocean of synastry....it would be great to see the whole thing if possible....Diana, I hope you don't find my comment above off-putting, as i do respect your observations and knowledge. IP: Logged |

It was a little....emotional. I said "sometimes." The 6th house is the house of service to others. I've seen it play out this way. There are no absolutes in astrology. It isn't always going to be a user overlay, but it can be. Just like the 7th can be an enemy house and not one of union. IP: Logged |

I'm not a fan of the 6th in synastry/composite. I agree with what Diana said about being used. Of course it doesn't always have to be that way, and just because I FELT used doesn't mean it was actually true.IP: Logged |

I've had better experiences with the 6th house than the 7th, and I have a 7th house Sun. I agree that it's strange since traditional astrology would say otherwise, but I've always experienced the 7th house as the 'open enemy' house and not the positive side of it. Hmmm... My sun's not even that badly aspected either (except the quincunx from saturn/uranus). IP: Logged |

I'v always felt the 7th was overblown in terms of synastry. It totally depends on your own chart which I think should be the determining factor. BM, maybe since your moon is in Virgo then the 6th is more comfortable to you. There's maybe an attention to detail which you like. Me, I've had most of my long term relationships activate the top part of my chart somehow, which only has Jupiter there. I think it's because Jupiter is the apex of my t-square IP: Logged |

My Aries friend's Gemini Rising falls in my sixth house. I remember briefly reading that a Virgo Sun will feel the attributes/effects of the 6th house(Mine is Gemini) and it's an empty house..I just have to say I don't feel anything..I always feel with the 1st and 8th house. Thats where most of the activity is going.. IP: Logged |

My PLANETS dont fall there, my ASC does. And he has his Sun/Mercury there soo...The Sun rules his 5th house. Let me post the chart. His 6th house is intercepted btw. He doesn't use me. And I have seen many synastry charts of people who are in love and they have 6th house action going on. iQ, do you believe that is true? What Diana said? I think that wherever your ASC falls in your partners chart explains how you met them. IP: Logged |

TOTALLY agree with Diana.I have experienced the 6th house "using you" a couple of times. Great insight into the 6th, Diana I agree that it's associated with healing too MVM. IP: Logged |

Give me a break. Using you? I just looked at a synastry chart for this couple, the guy wanted me to. And her planets are in his 6th house and he said he loves her and wants to marry her. Quit being so negative. Geez. Astrology isn't black and white. The 6th/12th house axis is karmic and it relates to past lives. IP: Logged |

Who was the astrologer who said that houses like the 4th and the 6th were just as important in synastry, as the 5th, the 7th and the 8th? Somebody Forrest? Steven? (It's been a while since I read the article.)*edit. It was only the 4th house, but I could have sworn I'd read something about the 6th, as well. http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/synastryplanetsinhouses.html http://www.forrestastrology.com/Synastry/love-handles-practical-synastry-in-action IP: Logged |

Well, I've never felt used by my Aries friend.I don't feel used by people with Gemini placements just uncomfortable because there's nothing going on there. I think it's great that your ASC falls in his very active 6th house, he probably also feels comfortable around you. Since you mention where the ASC falls in the synastry chart is how you met your love..did you meet him through work? IP: Logged |

In my experience...The house person serves the planet person. (I'm using "planet" here to mean angles and nodes, as well.) By serves, I mean cares for and heals. Even dotes. Usually the planet person looks up to the house person in this domain and trusts their care. I can see how this could sometimes lead to the planet person exploiting the house person. If they don't value the house person as an equal or have any desire to reciprocate, then the planet person could feel entitled to the house person's devotion. The planet person could feel like royalty and take the house person for granted, like a servant. In my experience, it hasn't played out like that. The synastry as a whole shows how the two people relate, sure. But it's also about looking at the natals and each person's character. Perhaps the two people have a relationship/synasty where the planet person never reciprocates, but unless they're a creep, they will be thankful towards the house person and aware of how much they've been given. My Moon is in my SO's 6th house. He's absolutely healed my Moon. I would go into this but I'd probably start to cry and that would just be uncomfortable for all of us. He's the best and transformed the way I share my heart with others. His Venus is in my 6th house. I won't go into this either ( What a gip of a post, eh?), but if we look at Venus as representing the woman he adores in a love relationship, then yes, I have transformed the level of trust and security he thought was possible. Sometimes I like him to use me and I like to use him, but I doubt it's in the way meant in this thread. So moving on... I have Aries on the 6th house. My life is filled with people who have Aries placements. I don't at all feel like they're using me. Instead, I feel like they value the way I care for them: the ideas I bring into their lives, the experiences we share, my belief in them. I'm loaded with Virgo placements myself (NN, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn), so I probably wouldn't even feel like I was having an opportunity to be myself if I couldn't offer them my services, so to speak. And they all reciprocate in their various ways. I have mutual Sun in the 6th overlays with a colleague of mine. A few years ago, he back stabbed me. During our reconciliation, he opened up and learned a lot about himself. To this day, he talks about how that event changed him for the better. He's constantly looking out for me professionally and personally, probably partly out of guilt, lol. I'd say he has my back more in active ways - doing things for me - while I have his in psychological ways - counseling him. Overall, I like 6th house synasty, particularly the sweet devotion it brings. IP: Logged |

I'm far from negative. Neither are relationships!! Surely 12th is past life karma? IP: Logged |

How does she feel about him? No matter, because like I said, there are no absolutes in astrology. Everyone is being so irrational about this. It's very annoying. I never said it's in EVERY case of 6th house overlay. I initially said "sometimes" it's this way and then after I got a crazy reaction I elaborated it with there are no absolutes in astrology. These reactions I am getting seem so over the top. If there wasn't any truth to it, why such defensive reactions? To the OP: I was making a general statement, and knew you nor he had PLANETS in the 6th, but the topic was more about 6th house in synastry and not your synastry. Hate to break it to everyone, but every house has good and negative possibilities, just like every sign does. And one of the negative manifestations is being used if the planets are in your 6th and them feeling used if yours are in theirs.

Exactly. Perfect way to explain it.
