In synastry I was having a hard time finding a description on it....maybe I suck at looking lol but I found this on Yahoo answers.Sun opposed Ascendant With the opposition, the two people are irresistibly attracted to each other like magnets. They see in the other person what they lack in themselves and so feel more complete when together. This also applies to Sun opposed Sun. What you think? Anyone else have any other descriptions. I feel this one is true for me. ------------------ ~Believe~ IP: Logged |

I found this on Astro Cafe. When the Sun in one person's chart conjuncts another person's Descendant When the Sun conjuncts the Descendant in synastry, the attraction is fascinating. The Sun person mirrors many of the traits that the Descendant person lacks, and unconsciously seeks in order to fill a balancing act within himself or herself. This aspect represents a powerful connection that can be difficult to break. In many ways, there is a feeling of being "meant to be together". However, although it's a binding tie, it's not always an easy one. If either person is immature or defensive, there can be frequent arguments about who is "right". However, each person is magnetically drawn to the other. They take an active interest -- and role -- in one another's lives. If the relationship is a mature one, the individuals involved can learn much from each other. IP: Logged |

Like Lioness said, it really means Sun conjunct DSC. It's supposed to be a good indicator of relationship-y feelings.IP: Logged |

The descendant is the exact opposite point of your Ascendant. So the sun is conjunct the dsc. These two points go to together.. The same is true with the MC/IC... Its also the starting point of your 7th house... IP: Logged |

Like... when you look at a chart there is a line bisecting it right down the middle and one point is labeled the ASC and the other point is labeled the DSC.So if your ASC is 17 Taurus, your DSC is 17 Scorpio. So lets say someone's Sun is at 16 Scorpio, it is opposing your ASC AND conjuncting your DSC. The DSC in a natal chart signifies their love relationships and how they act in them and also what their ideal mate is like. Someone with their Sun conjunct your DSC might seem like your ideal mate. It seems if someone has a placement opposite yours --you can fill in pieces for each other. This can be in any relationship--male/female, friendship etc. I noticed this, first, with the moons. I can see life from a new and needed perspective with the opposite moon.Cappy is my opposite moon Also, I see it with the opposite sun.Sag is my opposite sun. I am wondering if the other planets feel this way too. Ami

For any axis (ASC/DSC, MC/IC, NN/SN, Vertex/Anti-Vertex), I don't count any aspects except for conjunctions. I haven't found squares to the DSC in synastry to be that significant. I'm sure there are arguments for it, though.IP: Logged |

So an Opp to the MC would be a Conjunction to the IC?------------------ ~Believe~ IP: Logged |

One thing I don't understand though is all these seem to be talking about the descendant person. I know the sun or moon person completes the descendant person and whatnot, but what about the sun or moon person? How do they specifically respond to the descendant person? Are they obliged and willing to give everything of themselves that helps make the descendant person feel "complete"? Can they feel hesitant about this responsibility or the way the descendant person might look to them to fulfill this duty as if they already know this in their soul? I know their very presence probably already does half of that automatically without any action. Do they feel like they can easily "take it or leave it" more-so in relationships if they don't have aspects to their own descendant with that person in synastry as well? Do they feel the magnetic attraction and pursue the descendant person or does the descendant person pursue them? I know when personal planets make aspects to the ascendant, the planet person will seek our the ascendant person, had this happen too many times. Makes sense too cause the ascendant/first house is energy we are actively putting out like fishing lures for a nice catch I suppose. lol But the ascendant person will feel the planet's persons energy at a bodily/immediate level like when a kid tries to get you to look at something and holds it just a few inches away from your face going "HEY! LOOK AT THIS I GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU!" You then put your hands up so your eyes don't get poked out and you think "woah" because it can surprise you. It can be very alarming. But then again the descendant shows how we absorb energy back into us so I would suspect a familiar feeling with such a strong connection with the conjunction of the sun or moon...so it gets kind of confusing. I'm desperate to find out about his sun squaring my ascendant. What does it mean for the relationship? IP: Logged |

What's the orb? I wouldn't think it's significant unless it's an orb of 1-3 degrees. It's an attraction point. What house is his Sun in? That's more significant (especially if it's the 10th/4th).

Also hopefully you know a lot about it- his NN squares my asc. And conjuncts my saturn. Squares uranus, chiron. But my NN squares his mars but conjuncts his moon. NNs trine each other. Rather confusing to me...seems like no one knows what to make of it. Maybe you have any idea...sorry if I probe too much. It's just hard for me to wrap my head around it...IP: Logged |

My personal experience with sun conjunct descendant (= sun opposite ascendant) is that the persons who have their sun conjunct my descendant stay in my life for a long time. These are not romantic involvements at all, but a good friend for a long time 23 years, a boss for a long time 15 years.IP: Logged |

That is, IF you connect. To my knowledge there are three Sagittarius Asc in my life ATM, I'm a Gemini. Once upon a time I was on friendly terms with them all - Aquarius, Leo, & Pisces. Today only the Aqua remains. The case of the Pisces was interesting because I'm a Virgo Rising, and their Sun is one degree off my Dsc (DW). That one burned the hottest of the lot, but alas wasn't meant to be. My own pMoon is currently in Pisces. The Leo was too much of a Leo for me, whatever that means. Nice guy truth be told, but he gave me one to many orders for someone who wasn't a boss. The Aquarius was a darling from the start. wanted us to move in and heaven knows what else. It was too much too soon, I wasn't ready. Gulp!! - sometimes I don't know what I want. We have Venus conj Moon, and Saturn oppose Venus. They've stopped flirting with me, but will engage when I'm being serious. Aqua's pMoon is currently in Gemini. I'm Gemini. IP: Logged |
