Many years ago (god I sound old) I got INFP (there was one that divided people in the types, I was considered a Healer), and every time I do these tests it's always the same thing. I think I tested ENFP a little while ago, too.I would rather be an ENFP than an INFP, I'd be happier. --- Introverted (I) 62.5% Extroverted (E) 37.5%

I never took the test but with so many Introverted readings,I WONDER if kids just got shut down.
Kids are usually extroverted,running,jumping,playing ,talking, reaching out to strangers etc My guess is that many of the Introverted answers was from being squelched in childhood and thus being afraid to put oneself "out there"

Odd... I thought I replied in this thread already...  Anyway, the test I did listed me as ESFP. Some change from what I usually get as a result. Ever since I can remember I always hovered between ENTP or ENFP, but in this test, apparently the only thing that is unmistakable, is the E part, apparently I'm 75% extraverted, all the other hover around the 50% and thus could be one or the other. So apparently now I'm more sensing and feeling than I was before. And, according to the results of this test, an "Entertainer". Now I love to entertain people, but more often than not just not succeed in it, so I wouldn't call myself an entertainer 
I also tried taking the "indirect" test, but as I've noticed, those questions are torture for me! They are so ambiguous that I could answer anything to them! I mean: "I'm hard to read." - What do you answer to that? I'm very open and by all accounts should be easy to read but I still find that people get me wrong 99% of the time. So I'm hard to read. Does that mean I'm not open, as the question suggests? No. It just means that the people I meet are not oriented towards other people. Maybe I just meet the wrong people, but that doesn't influence my personality, right?
^ Now you can imagine WHY such indirect questions are hard for me. I can't even answer a question like "I am hard to read". And there's 59 more of such questions! Another: "I don't relate to most people." - based on my direct environment, no. Most people in my direct environment are too physical- and status-oriented and I am just not - well, I am physical but try not to be such-oriented. So I don't relate to most people in my environment. Does that mean I'm introverted, as the question suggests? Argh!!! I really, really hate those questions!
Anyway, I've a lot of Sagittarius/1st house and a bucket handle Moon in Gemini/7th house. Sun/Saturn in Scorpio/12th house (Sun arguably in 11th, depending on what system you use), Jupiter and Mars not aspected to one another in any way or form - even worse, Jupiter unaspectd in Capricorn/2nd.
Interestingly, NNode in Taurus (I should be physical-oriented! ) ------------------

I don't think it has much to do with childhood experience. What you are talking about is shyness, which is not the same as being introverted, although it may manifest similarly, when analyzed from the outside.
I have always been an introvert, for as long as I can remember. it has to do with how you process information and how you define yourself.
Introverts have to take everything down to their level, break information and use it to build an inner map of the world.
So they actually seem to take longer to process info than extrovets, who are more in the moment and in the world.
That's why introverts find relating to be tiresome, because it does not come natural for them to interact with their immediate environment.
And let me say this, that not all introverts are shy, and not all shy people are introverts.
Introverts usually refrain from interaction with others to simply save energy, or because they have no interest in relating.
Speaking for myself, I can go on for months with minimal interaction.
I can just spent all my time alone, reading, listening to music, working, studying etc.
I get the urge to go out and socialize about once every 3 to 5 months, depending on my mood..even with people I like, it's tiresome.
I am not really shy, because I am not afraid of being judged by others or anything like that. If I choose not to make my presence known in a social situation, it's because I really don't care about the people around me enough to contribute with my opinions. IP: Logged |
